I agree with what he said about the super committee crap, except I’d have to say dear leader does want all the perks of a leadership, but none of the responsibility. Perry did do well here. I’m glad he called out the insider trading stuff. There are still too many things I’m not comfortable with him, and am still a happy rider on the Cain train, but if Cain doesn’t make it for some reason, I might not be too upset with a Perry win.

I think that Tad Perry will have no trouble fitting into the DC atmosphere.
He increased taxes in Texas billions of dollars, increased spending 85%, and the debt is now 4 times the size it was when he first took office.
That sounds like a great DC track record.
- Mr. EMT
Repeating the same lying canard again I see.
You didnt prove it last time, still waiting for you to show what bill he signed raising taxes instead of the number of bills everyone else knows he signed cutting them, among them vetoing the internet sales tax, and two bills cutting property and franchise taxes.
Also, you still have not admitted whether or not you have figured out the term “tax per capita” since Texas has maintained one of the lowest in the nation under Perry.
Like he said, Chief Executive of the 13th largest economy in the world.
That comes with a price tag, and Perry has signed 6 balanced budgets as governor and is the only one pushing for a balanced budget amendment and has a tax plan that includes a spending cap.
He is also the only one going after obamao for the fuel and energy crises he is creating.Keep moving left cpa, your guy is going down in flames and your lying smear attacks against the strongest conservative in the field have always shown you for the liberal shill you are.
- Anonymous
Actually, you know those things are true. You continue to ignore fact.
The billions of taxes were raised through the Franchise Tax. They sold this tax based upon lies and then ended up expanding the amount of people covered by this tax so that it impacts every form of business, even those who file individual tax returns.
Spending is indeed up 85% while the population only increased 13%.
And yet again, the debt is just about 4 times bigger than it was when Perry took office.
You are confusing the roles of the States. Every single state in the nation must have a balanced budget. It is no feat to say that a governor balanced a budget…even Mittens did it. They balance these budgets just like Perry did in the last meeting of the legislature, by using accounting tricks and federal subsidies.
Per Capita….LOL….the issue is per TAXPAYER….you dense Paid Rick Perry staffer.
Taxes have increased dramatically under Rick Perry. You even admit this. Thank God that the rates were so low before he came into office or Texas would be in a much different position.
With your position…I guess you would be fine with Rick Perry raising taxes on American businesses and consumers as long as compared to “X” country (i.e. which ever country has the highest tax rate) it is “lower per capita.”
- http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
Sorry CPA, you are shot down again. You are not earning that $400 a day from the DCA. Better go back to your day job, and yes, no more tort cases for you.
- Anonymous
It is ROMNEY who raised taxes, OH WAIT! I’M SORRY! Willard calls them “fees”…whatever, he raised them to “balance the budget” and pay for all that fancy big government in TAX-A-CHUSETS
- Mr. EMT
Blah blah.
I have seriously lost count over the months of watching you claim the same BS, showing you are moronically ignorant on what “tax per capita” means when everyone else in the discussion does, and not one claim you make is supported by any form of reality you can validate with any link. Shockers!
you have been asked many times, not just by me, to back up your claims with a link supporting your assertions. Not once have you ever done so.Running the 13th largest economy in the world comes with a price tag. Had you ever done taxes you would know that as a household increases so too does the debt and spending of it.
You want to sit there and wallow in your stupidity admitting that while the population of Texas grew by millions of people(Put the number to 13% yourself. everything in Texas is bigger including our percentages)… and the wealth of jobs in the nation migrated to Texas they did so while Perry raised business taxes and made our cost of living quadruple?
There is a word for that in Texas. You would know what it is if you stopped and smelled what you are shoveling. - http://www.facebook.com/people/Nancy-Gettings-Oliver/100001341679218 Nancy Gettings Oliver
CPAguy…think ya better do some more looking…Governor fought our state legislature to NOT raise our taxes on bit…and he won! If ya smoke…yeah…ya pay more…but that lowered our property taxes…we don’t pay much on them either. And his spending…per capita…as we have grown…we are WWII levels…Governor does not lie…and Texas is so transparent…just look it up! No way he is DC insider…he is the outsider that will take a wrecking ball to that mess!
- Anonymous
The state government has no real power to lower property taxes. They tried to cap rates, but were warned that this strategy would not work as it is just one factor in determining tax liability. As it turned out, it didn’t work (obviously, it was never intended to work) as property taxes continue to rise. If a local government needs money, it finds out a way to get it via property taxes…nothing changed, except that a new multi_billion dollar tax was placed upon all business types.
You don’t look at taxes per capita as that tells you nothing of the real tax burden. The appropriate way is by TAXPAYER.
Texas is a relatively young state and thus calculating taxes per person wrongly allocates tax payments among a large swath of people who do not pay taxes.
Additionally, this number is further skewed in that the large illegal immigrant population has created a ton of American children (anchor babies) with non-tax paying parents…further skewing the numbers.
Personally, and among my Clients, there is no evidence of a decrease in the amount of property tax due. In fact, the past 2 years have seen increases.

Here’s how Perry wins this thing. He gets more votes than all the others.
If Cain gets more votes than all the others, he could win
Perry was good here. He seemed comfortable with himself and didn’t get rattled in any way. He lamented the sham that this committee was. Just something new that Obama can point to and hence, away from himself.
Is it slight of hand on O’s part? Houdini he ain’t! I mean, he’s hanging upside down in a big tank of red ink and can’t extricate himself. Stuck in a drowning pool of his own making. Did anyone see his presser about the super committee? He was itty bitty.
O’s probably back in his crib now, playing with something shiny and sucking on a binky. I hope the crib has rubber baby buggy bumpers in it so him don’t hurt himself.
Go Perry. Good job.
- http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
Short story: You are too stupid to work this debt thing out, so is congress, so we will get these really smart people to figure it out, easy as pie. Same thing FDR did. Put us into a 20 year depression. Only this time, we are paying attention, O! You fail, fail, fail. Perry is layng it out. Up to YOU, voters!
- Anonymous
One on one he exudes such confidence and command of his environment. I just wish he could project that in his debates. This is the real Perry…the Perry that would run the nation.
- Anonymous
Let’s hope it’s big enough to get him higher in the polls before Iowa gets here:
Why? So he can further split the non-Romney vote? Perry is not going to be the nominee.
- Mr. EMT
So when you go to the booth and you vote… you going to vote for the flip flopper, the slick talking freddy mac lobbyist, or the guy who cant get a statement out with out misspeaking and violating every constitutional amendment he gets asked about? Good luck with that… wait never mind the luck thing.

I’m voting for a Conservative….
Perry is not a Conservative. He is a fair weather politician…just like Mittens.
- Anonymous
…or the guy who has a 35-57 favorable rating among GOP voters (Perry) and never answers the question asked on foreign policy matters. Tomorrow’s debate will deal with foreign affairs. I suspect we’ll see that again. At this point, Perry’s presence in the race helps clear the way for Romney. I’m not happy with the field in general, but I’m an “anybody but Mitt” guy. I look at every aspect of the race from that prism.
- Anonymous
There is another debate? Really, it is not necessary at this point.
All the candidates should be out on the stump or doing the conversational things like Cain and Gingrich did.
- Mr. EMT
Like cain did?
Thats funny, his most recent public appearance, not counting the family debate the other day, he embarrassed himself over cuba and scolded the press for asking “gotchya” questions.Oh excuse me, he is not self aware enough to feel any sense of embarrassment over his frequent “misstatements” its always someone elses fault.
- Mr. EMT
never answers the question asked on foreign policy matters.
Then who was that guy that said “I would reset all foreign aid at zero and make every country including Israel justify our investing in them”
Who is the guy that has come out and condemned obamao for announcing time tables to the enemy?
Exactly what foreign policy question has he ever dodged? He certainly did not here when he used China as an example of who would be cut off and why.
“If you do not have our interests at heart then we wont be spending our money on you”
He was asked if he would go to war with Iran and answered that a hell of a lot better than anyone else has. He came off as neither a neocon nor someone who would back up from challenging tyranny with his Iran response. - Anonymous
Wow, Mr. Paid Rick Perry staffer, you can’t help but attack other candidates even when the subject is not the competition between candidates. That is pathetic.
At this point, the debates are useless, unless one is a voter who is watching their first debate.

In what way is Rick Perry Conservative?
- Mr. EMT
GLAD YOU ASKED! As if you didnt know

Strongest voice on Abortion:
Passed the sonogram bill and defunded planned parenthood in Texas. Due to legislation Perry pushed for and passed 13 abortion clinics in Texas have been shut down and more will follow.Gun Rights:
Having the stance that there should be no laws restricting the right to bear arms. Perry signed into law Castle Law (the game winner for me personally and why I am a loyal supporter) and further amended legislation to include the law extend to our vehicles and further be allowed to carry concealed with out a permit while traveling with the clear and simple definition of traveling to include going to and from your home to our car and any destination there after.
Perry is a CCL holder and this 60 second clip with a 5 second response from Perry on gun control is all any conservative needs to know how he legislates the issue.
Taxes
Perry has signed legislation totally 14 billion in tax cuts, among them a veto on the internet sales tax, and bills signed cutting property and franchise business taxes.Government size:
Perry has signed into law protection against eminent domain and when alerted to the threat of land grabs from the TTC, so scuttled the program and bound by law under scorched earth mandate that the TTC shall never rise again under an name and earned him the endorsement of the highest ranking conservative in Texas, Wayne ChristianPerry has also signed into law several bills protecting Texas against EPA over-regulation and is the worst enemy of the EPA
http://www.texastribune.org/texas-politics/2012-presidential-election/perry-vs-ep-epic-illuminating-clash/When it came to TARP, perry recognized there was a crises and co authored a letter to congress urging them to act and stop passing the buck.
However, when it came to dipping into tax dollars to bail out, he drew the line where Cain, Newt, and Romney did not:AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement:
“In a free market economy, government should not be in the business of using taxpayer dollars to bail out corporate America. Congress needs to take off its partisan gloves and work together to bring both short and long term stability to the credit markets. They need to stop blaming each other and start thinking about solutions that put the taxpayers of this country first.”
http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/11363/
Perrys record includes 2 tort reform bills including the famous loser pays law, 400 million in increased budgets for local law enforcement to secure our border and assigning Texas Rangers to recon the border and do the job the federal government refuses to do.
Vetoing a bill that would give state drivers licenses to illegal aliens, vetoing another bill that would give official recognition to a mexican national ID to illegals and our state Voter ID bill requiring everyone wanting to vote in our elections to show proof of citizenship with an ID that can only be lawfully obtained by US citizens. There is NO ONE in the field who has a record that comes close to matching his for conservative values.
And when it comes to Perry’s private time and special projects:http://www.redstate.com/onemovoter/2011/11/21/the-private-life-of-governor-rick-perry/
When it comes to distinguishing himself from obamao, again no one in the field with him contrasts more than Perry
Perry is the only one to identify the FED, Social Security as threats to citizens when it drew criticism from the other so called conservatives.
Perry is the only one who has a tax plan that includes a spending cap.
Perry is the only one who has a plan and agenda to cut the knees out of establishment politicians and make them actually work for a living and that includes a salary cut to the office of president. The only damned things you can throw at Perry is the fact that he CARES.
HE cares enough to sign a bill into law the Texas Dream Act that had 99% legislative approval behind it that benefits Texas Tax payers, which Reagan Himself would have done.
And he doesnt want to see kids end up with cancer so he used an Executive Order which carries no weight of law and came with an OPT out to “Protect the Rights of Parents”
http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/2292/Which was a hell of a lot more conservative than what his loudest critic Bachmann did when she was taking over 140k from drug lobbyists and did not mind her own state issuing a mandate for an STD vaccine that was ordered with out any form of opt out or parental protection measure.
When I look at what choices Perry has made I can see that he weighed them against “What would Reagan do, and what would our Founding Fathers intended when they framed our government”
You sure as hell cant say that about cain, newt, or romney.
Santorum does not have a success record to match Perry and cant even pick himself off the floor long enough to be taken serious. And Bachmanns mouth has made everyone with a brain dismiss her. And Ron Paul does not count as a conservative so im not even going there, the only reason he is on the GOP ticket is for votes and obviously not because he thinks he can win on his own.
And none of the others have a record of leading and legislating anything close to the scale that the burden of the Office of President of the United States carries.Oh and probably one of the most important things that show he is a conservative. Judicial Appointments
Judge Willett took over his predecessor’s six-year term with 15 months remaining when Mr. Perry appointed him in 2005. He said the governor had chosen judges who reflected his judicial philosophy, which Judge Willett described as “unabashedly conservative.” Mr. Perry, he said, understands the importance of judicial appointments and would carry that understanding into the White House were he elected president.
“If you’re president, it’s often your court appointments that seal your legacy with a capital L,” the judge said. “I’m confident Governor Perry gets that, consummately.
“He doesn’t do squishy. His judicial picks, from the Supreme Court on down, will not be philosophical ciphers, but impeccably credentialed conservative stalwarts who act judicially by adjudicating, not politically by legislating.”

Perry’s ideas and values are very impressive.
He is very personable and likes to elaborate on his proposals.
He just doesn’t do well in the MSM debates.

That is pretty damned rich coming from you.
You have been doing the same thing for months on perry. I.e., your claims that he went to the middle east to meet with a drug dealer which was so damned far off base it took me nearly a month to figure out what you were basing your fantasy off of.
You wanna get laughed off these boards I dare you to try that same BS.
Either way, im laughing over the irony of you trying to hypocritically criticize me for attacking other candidates when here you are, attacking the strongest conservative in the field with liberal crap articles and the man who has the best record for conservative achievements and has the best conservative plan laid out for America. - Anonymous
It is the truth. As you are aware Mr. Paid Rick Perry Staffer, I am fully against Perry (he is better than Gingrich, for what it is worth).
He is a crony capitalist who is not at all Conservative. He has raised taxes and dramatically increased the size of government while using federal funds and accounting gimmicks to close budget holes.
You continue to ignore fact, which is understandable given your occupation as a paid staffer.
- Mr. EMT
If it was true then you would have something tangible instead of your word, which is that of a proven lying shill.
There would be a lot more about Perry being brought up than five thousand in campaign contributions from Merck, that EVERY GOP governor and a huge chunk of other elected officials are guilty of taking in 2006, including Sarah Palin.
Via Ace of Spades
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/321329.phpBottom line is that in the first place you have some serious mental issues and can not stick to making honest attacks against a candidate, but considering you support a crony marxist who has as many money funding issues as Newt, i am hardly surprised.
You care to point out how your candidate feels about TARP or would you like for me to do that again?By the way, moron. Scored points on his Flat Tax when Charles asked him about why leaving the option in place and received the idea of a sunset on it VERY well. I wouldnt be surprised if that pops up in his plan.
Scored points off of international aid
Scored points off corruption in congress and need for his plan to make the federal government into a part time governmentAnd I think he scored points when the subject of his stance on immigration came up and he confided that he had been criticized by his wife for his comments in the debate.

This is the hard part. Now, it is time to seperate the liars and promisers, from the doers. O promised you change, and that he did, as far from democracy as he could. As Veep said this is one F**** deal. Now you got to decide, more of the same, or some one who is going great guns in Texas. Although, most of you have no idea what the weak border has cost us. No more America the Beautiful. Just take a look.

I think you are too tough on Perry. I dislike Perry, but I am not going to be dishonest.
I saw that Hotair put up a post attacking Perry on this issue and it came across as a very petty thing to attack a candidate on. A bit too much in the weeds (rather than the forest) for my taste.
If you are going to attack Perry, do so based on his record, not the parsing of words.

How to handle children of illegal aliens is different than being for open borders, which Perry is not.
The government requires hospitals provide emergency care for the uninsured. This does not mean the government is in support of people not insuring themselves.
The in-state tuition requires being enrolled in a naturalization process. The tuition program was approved by a conservative legislature in one of the most, if not the most, conservative state in the union. What you hear about the program from the media, liberal and conservative, is most likely not accurate.

Watching Perry try to form a sentence and fail is just too painful. He seems like an honest man but he’s just too stupid and inarticulate to succeed.
