Well said Governor

Every time Perry had a chance to answer a question, it’s been memorably good. This one is another.
Yes, he can debate!
- Anonymous
Perry did very well…did not get enough questions.
Little George S. should have worn an Obama button on his lapel…he is not a journalist. - Anonymous
Good for Perry. Actually I think Hussein’s method of dominating free enterprise through regulations, political favors, bailouts, loans and taxation is closer to some sort of neo-fascism. But the Left has conveniently associated fascism with the right so I guess socialist or marxist is a next best term.
- Anonymous
Yup. Fascism is closer, but you have to explain it and then people think you’re calling him a Nazi, so it’s just easier to say Socialist.

It’s amusing how the candidates talk all the time about states’ rights, but they never talk about individual rights. States’ rights does not give the government an unlimited and arbitrary power over individuals that allows states to violate individual rights; states’ rights are simply the freedoms of action that states should have from the federal government, to protect states from unlimited and arbitrary power over states by the federal government.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
- Anonymous
Absolutely! And, it seems we have to put out the reminder that we are called the “United States” of America. Sovereign states, united under a common flag.
PS, It just kills me when I hear Governors saying things like “Well, I hope that Washington will let us do thus and such.” They’ve got it all backward!

McCain was wrong, wrong and wrong again, Rick Perry is right, right and right again, right on Target.
- Anonymous
As much as I don’t like Perry, I despise the big gov’t wimp Mittens.
My top choice is Santorum. However, I would unite behind Perry or Newt.. whoever has the best shot to beat Mittens.
I hope all good consevatives will do the same.
- alamogal1963
Respectfully disagree. While Sentator Santorum may be a social conservative, he has voted again and again for further expansion of federal government. Please take a moment to read this post from Erick Erickson on RedState.com. He lists the good senator’s voting record. I was shocked.

Perry is right and McCain is left.
- Anonymous
Perry can be depended upon to tell it how it is. He will fight back socialism and big government. He is the best choice for President.
- StNikao
Perry is right.
Facts is facts.
- Anonymous
Perry is improving in the debates but will never be the nominee. He should quit and endorse Santorum or Gingrich.

Amen!

This is why I’m voting for him. He would beat Zero handidly. I want the truth, Good, Bad, and Ugly. Mitt Romney not telling the truth, reminds me of Zero not saying Islamic Jihad. For God’s sake, people have brains out here. It’s like they think we can’t see. “Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?” I’ll trust my eyes.
- Anonymous
Props to Perry for having the guts to call it the way it is.
I was arguing with my wife about this last night. She thinks that calling Maobama a socialist will alienate too many people
I strongly disagree. The nominee has a responsibility to be honest with voters and tell them the truth about what we’re up against. Jus like Reagan did.
- Anonymous
I am with you. Calling Hussein a socialist is actually too kind. We have socialist McCain endorsing socialist Romney to run against islamo-marxist Obama.
If people do not start calling a spade a spade how the hell are we ever going to stop our free fall into globalism and oligarchy.

STOP CONFUSING ME sDee!
“islamo-marxist Obama”
How can a person be a religious communist? - CentralFlaGirl
The word religious just means committed…or relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity …
thus a religious communist is just one person faithful or devoted to communism, via hiding behind muslim practice.
In my opinion.

Too many Americans have been literally, ” brainwashed”, into suppressing their honesty in favor of “approval”, by some self-loving cultural (Media?) ideologue/authority…In fact, fear of offending is a very powerful cultural tool for suppressing free speech.
From my vantage point of 80 years, you haven’t the slightest idea of the nature of the liberty of my childhood, familyhood, neighborhood and schoolhood in this once-great country.
“Liberty is not the license to do what you want, but the obligation to do what you ought.”
Tell the critics of liberty to go where the sun don’t shine

I agree with Rick Perry but will go him one better; Obama is a Marxist. If this was not evident this past week skirting around the Senate to make appointments the only thing that will make some understand is when the Obama administration, if they get a second term, will come to take your possessions. After all, they need one of your cars for those who don’t have transportation of their own. However, it won’t matter because you won’t be able to afford gas for one, let alone two because energy production is about zero, thanks to Obama.
Governor Perry is the only candidate who seems to have the courage to tell it like it is and I respect him for it and will vote for him in the primary as will any right thinking American who wants big government gone, and gone now. Enough is enough!
- http://www.facebook.com/people/Chris-Dias/1680711668 Chris Dias
Almost right. Getting closer. He’s a communist with Muslim roots. That’s why he’s hired them in his administration until they get caught on video, but I’ll vote for Perry over Romney.
- Lexie Malaszewski
I totally agree.

Thank you Rick Perry for speaking the truth.

Darn Tootin’! Take it to ‘em Rick.

The founding fathers didn’t want America to be socialist… well, history will tell us that socialism wasn’t around during the founding fathers time, so they hadn’t heard of socialism. And my goodness, how long will politicians keep telling us what the founding fathers wanted? The world was a much different place than it is now, such a cheap political trick.
- http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IDAKYMXLZIRLMLGEZJXV3AOO7E Vorlath
You’re kidding, right? Socialist ideas were well known in the 1770′s. The founding fathers would have known about it. Also, the ideas were around WAY before then. There were many books about collective ownership and this kind of monetary system. Wikipedia’s first line on the subject is this:
“The history of socialism has its origins in the French Revolution of 1789 and the changes brought about by the Industrial Revolution, although it has precedents in earlier movements and ideas.”
IOW, it was well know before then.
- Is_Sense_Common
It’s not like it’s a mystery what the Founding Fathers saw for the future of our country. Have you ever read any documents they wrote? Do you have any curiosity about it? Or is it just easier to make assumptions that sound like the “logical” thing to say?
- Anonymous
Vorlath gives an excellent explanation upon which I will add another point.
The founders also knew about the failures of collectivism in America dating from the time the pilgrims landed – and perished in their failed colonies.
Here is a link to the Limbaugh edition, though he is not the only one I’ve heard discussing this failure of socialism. http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2011/11/thanksgiving-pilgrims-gave-thanks-for-gods-guidance-away-from-socialism-capitalism-and-scripture-saved-the-pilgrims/

The point is that we don’t need politicians with far less mental ability than the founders recreating our society for ” our best interests.”
- BS61
You really need to read the Declaration of Independence if you believe that our Founder wanted socialism!
- Anonymous
You are not interested in what the founding fathers thought. Are you interested in what the Constitution wants? Or, do you adopt the modern democrat version of the Constitution, which is to put it right next to the Charmin?
- Anonymous
Japanese didn’t want a nuclear weapon dropped on them either, even though they didn’t know what it was. Founders may not have recognized the word socialism , but they damn sure knew the philosophy. They sure didn’t want the United States to be ruled by it.

What is little known of Perry is that shortly after he had back surgery, he jumped into the race. Might have been a bit better for him to take it easy on his own health, recuperating nicely first before heading in. Also at that time, Texas was fighting wildfires. Today, Perry seems to have recovered from all of these concerns and is delivering pretty darn well in the latest debates!
- Maxsteele
That was so sweet I think I may get a cavity.
Furthermore, after that quote (I remember it well when McCain first said it) how can him supporting Romney be a good thing. McCain is a snake that will say anything to give himself credibility with those in power. I respect him for his service to the country in the vietnam war but as a politician he has become one of the old boys club who cares more about maintaining his power then what is good. - Anonymous
Now that is my boy.

I love it! PERFECTLY said!
Unlike Romney, Rick Perry is not going to hide behind politically correct language when describing Obama. He says blatantly in this clip that not only is Obama a Socialist, but that our founding fathers didn’t want America to be a socialist nation:
