Gotta say I love Rick Perry’s brazen attitude on guns. And I wouldn’t mind if he ran for president again, though after his last attempt, I wonder how well he’d do.

YAHOO NEWS – When the Texas Republican governor, speaking Monday to a local tea party group, was asked if he would run for president again, he sounded potentially interested in a future bid and noted that he would make “a number of decisions” about his future next summer.

“It was an extraordinary experience. I mean, one that I wouldn’t trade,” Perry said of his presidential campaign. “And looking back on it and knowing even, you know, [that it was] unsuccessful, I would do it again.”

When asked about gun control on Monday after Friday’s shooting in Newtown, Conn., Perry, a strong gun rights advocate, stated support for carrying weapons on public property in Texas.

“You should be able to carry your handgun anywhere in this state,” Perry said to wide applause.

“We have to do everything we can to make sure that those types of evils are restricted the best that it can be,” he said. Later he added, “One of the things I hope we don’t see from our federal government is this knee-jerk reaction from Washington, D.C., when there is an event that occurs that they come in and think they know the answer.”

I supported Rick i front of my frends.

They say he could not debate, somehow, I understood every word he said.

And I don't need to hear it over and over. Clear as mud.

Run, but don't do it if you're going to be unable to debate. Various reasons as to why he couldn't this time, but we're not discussing those. Great response by him, as always. #GodBlessTexas

I have to say, with the painful election just four weeks in the rear view, I can barely even think or contemplate 2016.

I have to be honest that I am having a very tough time politically at all.

I am still stunned by the outcome.

That said, I like Rick Perry. I supported him as long as I could in 2012. We donated money to his campaign, and did what we could from our state.

I wish he had been better prepared for a National run. He is HEAD and SHOULDERS above the "winner."

If he decides to put his chips in, I hope he has hired a debate coach, and has started practicing NOW.

I supported Rick Perry in 2012 and would again in 2016. If some in DC had his chutzpah it would be Obama with his back to the fiscal cliff.

Rick Perry is a tax raising RINO who was only able to balance this year's budget by delaying a $1 billion pension contribution by one day and other accounting tricks.

I'd rather see less of this Democrat who runs as a wise cracking conservative cowboy.

I do like the wise cracks. Not a fan of his leftist and crony policies.

If Rick ups his debate game and runs, he might get me to not vote third party next time. I've pretty much had it with the R establishment.

Texas folks (like myself) don't give a dang about the federal govt and this marxist. Almost everyone is packing in Texas from the old to the young. It is wild wild west territory. Northerners can do what they want for their socialist utopia as given in Chicago (how is that crime level and black on black crimes going on up there) and Detroit (bankruptcy city with a defunt govt owned GM, Chrysler). Either on the black market or as protected under the 2nd Amendment, Americans will buy and use guns to protect themselves. Period.

I regret not having been born in Texas! I would LOVE to move there and the sooner the better.

Got my vote.

In the meantime, I'd like to see him enforce the 10th Amendment. Other states would follow, and conservative would flood into them.

I think it's Obama and Holder that need to be banned from weapons. I certainly hope that the shooting in AZ and CT weren't a continuation of a Fast and Furious operation? Are there any ties to Obama of this shooting in CT? He is friends with William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn? I heard the hard drive of the shooter's computer was destroyed and they can't get any information. That's kind of odd, isn't it? That doesn't seem normal for a young guy that age, to destroy his own hard drive. Usually they sort of flaunt what they've done?

I just heard on Rush that one of Obama and Holder's Fast and Furious AK-47's that they sold to the drug cartels in Mexico, killed a beauty queen from Mexico. She was used as a human shield. Obama and Holder committed this crime, to make it appear as though legally bought guns in AZ, were sold to drug cartels to murder people.

They were attempting to frame Americans, and have murdered over 300 people, including two Federal Agents. Gee, you would think that would lead to impeachment wouldn't you?

This violence is a disaster - BUT people are the problem NOT guns

We here in Oklahoma stand with the Gov on this!! And if truth be told,,,,,,he was my choice in the Primary! If a certain other individual doesn't get in,,,,,then Perry is my choice, again!

Mine too. I'm just sorry that he had to have pain meds during the primaries. I've had back surgery and know how much pain he can be in.

Gov. Perry has it right. And I will be traveling across my state of Texas next week with my handgun (probably more than one) with me. Go Aggies.

Sounds like fun, but I can't be there. Maybe it will be televised. I will definitely be watching the game. Who would have ever thought a freshman quarterback could excel as he has? Just wow.

Interesting that I was watching an old movie last night on the 300 Spartans. There is a monument to them that reads: "Go tell the Spartans, travelers passing by, that here, obedient to their laws we lie."

It was also their weapons. They were asked to disarm or be attacked.

I won't argue with you, but history books say the focus of the Mexicans was the cannon. Thanks, I'll do more research. You are probably correct.
