CNN released this statement today:
“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“
They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.
In case you’ve missed the controversy, it was earlier reported today that:
Sanchez calls [Jon] Stewart “a bigot,” then walks it back a bit, and he implies CNN is run by Jews.
Yeah, that’s pretty much it and it’s backed up by audio. I never like to see anyone get fired, but it’s clear they had little choice. I’m just sad that we’ll miss out on all the humor he brought to our lives. In the spirit of that, let’s have Glenn Beck take us back down memory lane:
