Rick Santorum says that Talking Points Memo was the first to take a policy disagreement and smear it into something he didn’t say. They accused him of saying that John McCain doesn’t understand how torture works, when that’s not what he said at all. He was referring to John McCain saying that enhanced interrogations didn’t lead to getting Osama bin Laden, and he was saying that McCain doesn’t understand how enhanced interrogations worked because it did get us information that did lead to the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Furthermore, Santorum doesn’t even believe that enhanced interrogations are torture which just shows how deceptive TPM really is:

circular firing squad must be avoided.pubs need to get thier stuff together.

  • Scottl

     1. McCain has access to records that Santorum will never have access to.
    2. Santorum never served on any military or intelligence committees and he has the audacity to tell McCain he doesn’t know what he’s talking about….LOL – I love how these guys actually think they know something.

    • Steve

it’s not audacity, it’s knowledge of the subject.

      • Tyler

Yeah.  We know what the media tells us.  That doesn’t make it the truth.

Waterboarding sure had KSM worried, so worried he was able to count off the seconds until it was over…

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but that’s more often than either of them so they were due.  Wrong is still wrong, even if they shut up about it after Obammy got into office.

I like Rick.  I don’t think he has a chance, but I like him.  His problem is he is always stating what he is against as opposed to what he is for.  He was speaking out about islam long before anyone had the courage to do so.

  • John42399

I don’t like or  trust Santorum . He’s a loser Former Senator and who also supported the traitor Arlen Specter . Why Levin likes him is discouraging .

    • Tyler

Again…the very epitome of everything that is wrong with the Rs.

  • Tyler

I couldn’t care less if someone accidentally misspoke about Santorum because he smears himself anyway by being the very epitome of everything that’s wrong with the Rs.

That being said, I’ll be real surprised if this whole discussion about “enhanced interrogations,” isn’t a long and drawn out attempt for Obama to have ground for breaking yet another one of his promises…then I’ll sure as heck be surprised.

    • Anonymous

That promise has long since been broken, renditions have been accepted practice since day 1 of his time in office.

If that is his intent, they’re failing at it very badly because 5minutes on google of all things can show that it’s a LIE that torturing people lead to Bin Laden.

      • Tyler

I’m talking about the “enhanced interrogation” debate specifically.  Why on Earth everyone in the media is going apesnot over whether or not we should bring back “enhance interrogation.”  This debate just so happens to come after this “Bin Laden raid.”  He makes it illegal to make himself look like he’s making good and then this comes along and it’ll only be a matter of time before he decides “Well…they’ve got a point.  I wouldn’t have gotten Bin Laden without these techniques.”  Then it won’t ever be talked about again…even though it’s surely been abused before and will continue to be abused after it’s brought back.

        • Anonymous

Well they’ll get away with whatever they can that gets them more power (and then rail against it when they aren’t the one at the reins).

The Big Lie, a lie told often enough becomes the truth, etc.

          • Tyler

Alex Jones isn’t 100% right about everything, but he was absolutely correct when he said in the movie “Waking Life.”

“…two sides of the same coin.  Slavery Incorporated.”

  • Coralchristie

McCain may be a decorated war veteran and a survivor but like John Murtha, he can be corrupted too. I believe that McCain is a progressive and although he has a great history, it’s his beliefs of today that I question. Santorum had a right to question McCains’ belief because McCain isn’t perfect and has been in politics much too long to be trusted.

    • Tyler

They’re both Progressives and they’re simply calling each other out like pro-wrestlers do.  Then, they’ll tussle with each other a little just as pro-wrestliers do…but it’s already been decided what the outcome is.  Why?  Because there are too many people that buy into the show and cheer on.
