I was pleasantly surprised at McCain’s speech tonight and loved the zingers he sent across Obama’s bow.

Insufferably hollow words from a naive, progressive loser. Everyone knew the threat in 2008 except, ironically, John "My, friendzh, you don't have to fear an Obama administration" McCain. Why must we be reminded of you? You, who love the praise of the New York Times and have always taken special delight in sticking it to conservatives so you may garner yet more liberal approbation. You ran an anemic and toothless and losing campaign which has resulted in misery for millions. Your "zingers" are just sour grapes sentiment now. We could have used some zingers in 2008, but you chose to be genteel with jackals. Didn't you? Didn't you?

I agree 100000000000000% I know that if we lose this country he is going to be reminded in his death bed all the damage done by his weak leadership.

He has become a non-factor in politics, and crosses the Ilse when it is expedient and self serving. As an American Naval hero I commend him, but as a politician I can't defend him.

I guess Mitt Romney selected him to speak... so that he won't bring back (The Gang Of 14) like he did to undermine the Bush Administration.

He is an absolute failure in a lot of ways but his speaking abilities are really bad. One of the most boring speeches I've heard. Scoop, why would you post this video and not the keynote by Chris Christie?

It saddens me to see what McCain has become. He is such a great American in so many ways and has given more of himself than I can even imagine. But it's time for Sen. McCain to step down. Your speech was good, I enjoyed it, but leave with some dignity so you can be remembered as the very special hero, which you deserve sir.

I can't bring myself to watch him.

BTW is he still considered to be a republican? I thought he went back to attack mode after wasting our time 4 years ago.

McCain is not a bad man just a lousy Senator, horrible candidate and sometimes out to lunch! He really loves himself....not sure why...I honor his military record...but John you had the chance to be tough on Obama and you had your clock cleaned because you wanted to use KLEENEX instead of a stick!! And look at the mess our country is in because of the Marxist!!

It felt more like a bedtime story to me.. but that's just me.

Is it too harsh and superficial of me to say the convention floor predominantly consists of haggard looking people who are underdressed? Aren't conventions supposed to be, in relative terms, historic events? I mean, these things do go into the historical record. Gosh sakes, what would I wear to my one little slice of American history? What's the point of showing up looking demoralized?

brendawatkins

I really didn't see all that.. I listened to the speeches as I tweeted and while I wasn't tweeting I was playing solitaire.

Boon Companion:

You ponder deep and thoughtful questions, but your opportunity to make history will remain the puddle you deposit in your undies (or panties as you call them). Sorry to inform you, but I know you like the honest truth.

What's pathetic is how little your two, trolling comments here have mattered in the vast universe of things. And now that you're done, we'll all sit and wonder at the greatness that could have been, had you not squandered the opportunity.

Thanks GOP for reminding us all of why we're in this mess to begin with....you fielded a candidate who is as bereft of passion as you are.

McCain is NOT someone we need to hear from.

I lost interest in his speech and used the rest of the time to fix some dinner. It pained me to watch the rerun here, but I'm thankful I did. It just reminded me how much the establishment types/RINOs need to make vapor trails out of the GOP.

VirusX

Pathetic. This leftist fossil needs to be recalled. He can make snarky remarks about Obama, all he wants at this RINO convention, but we all know that he can't wait to go back to Washington DC and kiss up to the worst president of our time. He can pretend he's not on Obama's side, but his past remarks against Conservatives, such as those Tea Party hobbits, shows that he's not on our side, either. This is the same man that hates the idea of the "damned fence" to protect American lives, preferring, instead to let criminals flood across the border, explicitly for the purpose of destroying the American economy and endangering American lives. I can't take anything a McCain says as being genuine, anymore. This man needs to go, just like Obama, the racist democrats, and the destructive RINOs.

You forgot his latest, calling out and throwing Michelle Bachmann under for her questioning (rightly so!) of muslim brotherhood in our government.

that is so true. he does some good things, then something like that. he needs to retire. thought though his speech was good, but he is to erratic in office,

Well put! A good speech giver, but erratic when he's supposed to be doing what he was elected to do. :-)

Would that Mitt would've won the nomination last time around. Things would be so different right now. That very well may have been a 6 trillion dollar Republican electorate mistake.

On the other hand, Obama might've beaten him too. Not this time around though. America' s learned a very expensive lesson. God probably knows what he's doing. Nothing new there.

Agreed. I just have a feeling it was gonna go to bho no matter what. The spin put on the guy, along with the patina of near sainthood, was too much for anyone else to overcome.

Chris

Prez O won the campaign of style over substance...with his lofty promises, Greek columns, and trying to make himself look like a centrist. Plus, there was the mystique of voting to put the first "black" President in office.

warpmine
warpmine

No she hasn't and proof of this is Obama is still in the WH and not hanging from a yardarm for the treason he's committed.

As it stands now we even if Mitt wins by a landslide, the people still are clueless as to what the constitution says and means and where did all the freedom go. Some still be believe and desire that we live in a mob ruled democracy.

If they really truly understood, the bullets would have already been flying to and fro instead of looking forward to the next American Idol, blech....

T4Ut

I heard him too. I agree with most of what he said in substance, but his level of credibility is totally compromised with me. Kind of like this...

"Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me..." Isaiah 29:13

proudhispanicconservative
proudhispanicconservative

Im listening to pawlente, and its the first time I hear someone attacking Obama by name, I ve been saying start attacking his record, Keep pounding on it, hard.

With all due respect to MCain but the reason you lost your election, was because you were fighting an enemy and instead of hitting hard you chose to act dignified, and what did it get you?? A loss to our worst enemy in modern times. Your did not even mention Obama by name your speech was boring sorry.

Chris

Besides his milquetoast-like campaign (given a little boost by Palin, but not enough of one), McRINO has reached across the aisle too many times and on occasion, he tries to make nice when he should not. His stance on illegal immigration also soured my view of him. I do believe he is a Patriot and war hero, but his record as a politician is less than ideal to me.

anyonebutbarry2012

he did bring up the white house leaks, which was good, I thought his speech was good, much more so then christie's. jmo

proudhispanicconservative
proudhispanicconservative

You are right, the leaks part was good, and you heard the biggest applause in the speech, thats what you get when you attack with conviction, and without being afraid to say it as it is. He also shouldve mentioned that one of the reasons he lost the elections last time was that Obama promised to cut the deficit in half, as many other reasons
