Roger Ailes defends Glenn Beck & Sarah Palin and smacks down Arianna Huffington

I have to give Roger Ailes credit for giving me the most entertaining Sunday morning I’ve had in a while. In the two clips below from ABC’s This Week, Ailes doesn’t mince words in getting the better of his opponents.

This first clip of Ailes is classic. Arianna Huffington puts Roger Ailes on the spot, asking why he allows Glenn Beck to ‘incite the American people’ with his paranoia. Ailes not only defends Beck, but then turns the tables on Arianna:

The second clip is even more classic. Ailes defends his choice of adding Sarah Palin to the Fox News payrolls while taking the opportunity to state on ABC that Fox News is the most trusted name in news.

Very blatantly obvious that when Ailes starts citing the truth that he is abruptly and rudely cut off and not because of "lack of time." =^..^=
  • Boo-yah!
  • RC2009
Actually Arianna is right, it IS incitement when Glenn Beck does it. It's NOT incitement when Arianna's blog does it. The difference? Glenn Beck listeners might actually DO something (Tea parties) while Arianna's audience sits in their parents basement smoking pot.
  • Shoot . . . you got both moments!

These could very well be my two favorite moments on television in years. I usually do not watch that show, but I tuned in while folding a few shirts.

    What a treat!

Arianna Huffington literally opened up the discussion with that attack on Roger and on Fox News. His response was just a complete take-down.

She looked like a penny waiting for change!

An obviously dissatisfied Barbara Walters then tried to corner him with the old charm attack, questioning Fox bringing on Sarah Palin.

And even as Roger stuck it back at her, an obviously foolish Arianna decided to jump back in . . . only to get a second helping of her lunch handed to her!

The best part was that Barbara actually had to interrupt at the end in order to stop the bleeding!

Oooooo . . . that had to leave a mark!

Good job Mr. Ailes. While Fox News isn't with out its flaws (Geraldo), it serves America's best interests to have at least one segment of the news media that isn't a drooling sychophantic parrot of the administration.
  • scr_north
    Good for Roger! Here, Here!!
  • Anne
Only two out of five people sitting there have the qualifications and experience to comment on the state of this country. The others? A shill, a shrew, and an ex-wife still mad at her husband, a Republican, for being gay.
  • AST
What are Adrianna's pundit qualifications again? I forget.

She's definitely not the looker she used to be, and she reminds me of Zsa Zsa Gabor every time I see her.
  • Ratings are Results, like Stocks that produce Dividends, it's success.
Huffandpuffington got a smackdown by Ailes and I loved every minute of it.
  • michaelgingerly

Why is everyone upset with Arriana, She would make a great teabagger
  • redrepub
Arianna is the #1 reason why gay men need to stop marrying heterosexual females!!!!!!!

You know who you are! Leading women on into a loveless marriage is terrible. And you only lose at least half your stuff in the end anyway.
  • bill07407
Huffington and Walters are both libtards
  • Kathy
Fabulous!!! Roger Ailes was terrific and poor Arianna didn't know what she or her progressive lefties are more paranoid than anyone.

    Babs needs to retire.
  • Godong
Uppity feminists. He handled them spectacularly.
  • Ted in Japan
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I do believe Barbara Walters did a really bad job of hiding her absolute contempt for Sarah Palin. And Roger Ailes' response to her did not please her in the slightest. Gotta love the Rog!
  • Sean
Roger destroyed these hacks. I loved it when Bawawwa tried to interupted him when started saying that Fox News is the most trusted name in news.
  • Mike
Deport Arianna Huffington back to what ever third world sheep fucking country this gold digger came from.
  • Enkidu

Doesn't this Huffington woman have the most annoying accent EVER? She might be making valid points but I cant listen to her for more than 5 seconds. Her name should be a new dictionary word with the meaning: to absolutely annoy.

    Arianna Puffington
  • zanjack
What a joke, Ariana Huffington accusing anyone of "inciting" anything... check out this report on how HuffPo incites antisemitism and hatred of Israel..

    http://frontpagemag.com/2010/01/12/anti-semitis...

Too bad Ailes didn't get the 411 on that report or he could have really opened up on her.
  • Jeff
One day, I suspect Arianna will look into a mirror and realize:

"My ego vastly exceeds my current skills and past contributions."

Until then, we're forced to live with this misguided opportunist.
  • Give it to them liberals what they deserve Roger! ZERO!
