Wow. I think what this clips shows, more than anything else, is that Santorum really has Romney on the defensive because he’s worried about losing Michigan. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Romney more rattled in this campaign than he has been for the last day or so. And I’m loving it!
Romney is now accusing Santorum of saying incendiary stuff about Obama just to get the base excited, a narrative I’m sure we’ll all hear more if he loses Michigan tonight, and its something he says he’s not willing to do:
“I’m not willing to light my hair on fire to get support.”
I’ve listened to Santorum a lot and he just tells the truth about Obama, something that Willard has made clear in the past that he isn’t going to do.
And it’s exactly the reason he doesn’t excite the base. We want truth-tellers, not politically correct moderates. We’ve gone down that road in 2008. Hopefully never again.
