Romney lied in the CNN debate about Catholic Hospitals/abortion pill and Catholic Charities/adoptions by homosexual couples.
I don't care if they were "lawfully" removing the signs. If that were the case, they should have pointed that out when the guy was asking "why are you taking down the signs". That would have been super-simple.
As I said, I don't care if they were "lawfully" removing the signs. I don't care if the signs were not supposed to be there. I am NOT voting for Mitt Romney - not in the primary and not in the general election. Don't like it? That's just too damn bad. Maybe he should stop acting like a Chicago thug and more like a proper conservative.
Romney was born with a platinum spoon in his mouth but I'd love to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. He's as genuine as a three-dollar bill.
That's the type of scum Romney is turning out to be. If he can't play fair before he is elected imagine how "fair" he'll be afterwards! Childish and immature behavior on the part of Romney and his loser supporters.
The girls at play...... Vote Ron Paul. The only man in the field that was in the military. Santorum's son John is 18 why has he not heard the calling to defend this country if Daddy said America is under threat??
Not another one! I hate that argument. My dad served in the Marine Corps but I chose not to serve. I instead decided to become an aerospace engineer and join the design team for the V-22 Osprey in the mid-90s. I was specifically on the team that designed the aft fuselage skin/stringers and the upper crew escape hatch. I was involved in its design, static testing, and flight testing before changing careers to IT. Now I write the software that the engineers use to design aircraft. So did my actions not help the military? Did I really need to serve to play my part?
What really gets me is that people like you think that parents send their kids to the military. Our military is volunteer only, the way it should be. People who are told to serve do not serve as well as people who choose to serve. That is the #1 reason why the American military is far superior to any military on the planet.
If Rick's older son, John, does not want to serve in the military, then I hope he does not. He can still serve his country well by not being a burden to it: get a job or start a business, live within his means, get married and start a family, raise his children to love America, give as much as possible to charity to help the less fortunate (money and volunteer time). You do not have to serve in the military to be an asset to America.
The only people who should be shamed are those who "choose" to TAKE from America, like people who are on unemployment for more than 6 months, people on welfare that have the ability to work a second or third job, people who claim social security who have plenty of money in investments, etc.
Don't shame Rick or his son for not serving in the military. They can serve America well in may ways. Rick sure has.
Ron Paul being in the military does nothing to sway me to his camp.
Yo! Can you send me some of those Santorum signs for my front lawn? Thanks. Ask Romney to expense the shipping.
Maybe the moral of the story is that Romney has been caught in so many blatant lies in debates, has used blatant lies in attack ads, and basically has upped his own negatives with dirty politics, that when a story like this comes out, it's easy to believe it's sinister in nature, even when it's not.
Well, there seems to be some differing opinion that the signs were illegally placed and were being legally removed, followed by anger that we had all jumped to conclusions that Romney was behind it. I'm suggesting that if this was all legal, maybe the reason why we believed Romney could be behind the illegal removal of those signs is because he's not a man that many of us trust.
Well, that looked like those signs were in the right-of-way. And it also looked like they didn't have the permission of the property owner.
The shot with the cop at the end of the video kinda illustrates that this is much ado about nothing. If they were "stealing" signs, a report would've been filed with the officer - on video.

Umm, those Santorum signs were in the right of way. And it didn't look like they had the permission of the property owner there. Both of which are illegal.
The shots with the cop at the end kinda shows this is much ado about nothing.
Oh My,
How shameful. Michigan's "favorite son" does not seem to believe that the rules/laws of the land apply to him.
How shameful. Santorum does not seem to believe that the rules/laws of the land apply to him.
The signs were placed in the road's right of way - which is illegal in Michigan.
The signs were placed on property without the owner's consent - also illegal in Michigan.
If the sign's "owners" had a claim, we'd see video of them filing a police report. It's more likely that those signs were lawfully removed and this video is much ado about nothing.
Even if one cop was complicit, it just takes calling up the police department or sheriff to go file a criminal complaint.
Nevermind this turkey named John Galt...his new residence is now China, due to spin!
Or the signs were legally being removed.
Think about it - is the videographer so dumb that he couldn't call up the police department or go file a criminal complaint in person, with video in hand?
Since the signs were placed in the road's right-of-way (illegal in Michigan), their removal is legit. And it also seems the signs were placed on property without the owner's permission (also illegal in Michigan). So......
So, what? If the removal is legit, then the guy removing the signs would have said so. And saying that it "seems" they were placed on property without the owner's knowledge, is pure conjecture.
Those signs were not paid for by Romney but by someone else and they're private property. Removal is up to the owner, not some politically driven dildo working for Romney. Those sign were in the parking which is usually city property and I'm sure they didn't call about the signs. Simple case of theft. The actions of the two dirtbags speak loud enough.
Interesting that you'd say that.
Placement of those signs on someone's property is also up to the owner. When you put signs on my yard without my permission you're breaking the law. It doesn't matter if you "own" the signs. You just littered my yard.
Also, they were placed in the road's right-of-way. That's (also) illegal in Michigan.
The fact that the cop at the end of the video didn't do anything seems to imply these signs were legally removed.
Bozo! Which side of the road is the right of way? The one going to the left when on the south side of the street or the one going to the left when on the north side of the street? Or better yet, the one going right when on the west side or the one going right when on the east side?
And the Mannequin Santorum stains placing signs illegally in the right-of-way? And on property without the property owner's permission?
The fact the cop at the end of the video didn't do anything seems to imply these signs were legally removed.
the santorum signs look like they were in front of a public building not a private owner in the first few seconds of the video.
All of you are assuming that Mitt Romney himself is behind this and ordered it. Do you know if that is true, or are you just assuming? My guess is that Romney was not aware of it - he is busy stumping and prepping for the Debate tonight. At least give him some benefit of the doubt, after all, here in America, a person is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.
I'm sure this story will be on Drudge any day now. Look, I'm holding my breath.
Yeah, when anyone sees the cop at the end of the video - and knows that signs in the right-of-way are illegal in Michigan, and placing signs on private property are also illegal, then it's clear this is much ado about nothing.
It'll get reported by those who want to trash Romney or enhance Santorum. But it'll also show the lack of credibility of the person playing it.
I hope RS will post a correction if it is learned that the Santorum sign were lawfully removed. The police were there and were not going to sit by while signs were illegally removed. My bet is that the property owner asked to have them removed or that Santorums signs violated local ordinance. Romneys signs are located away from the road where Santorum's are not. It is easy to cry 'foul' without all of the facts.
First, I must say I am a Santorum supporter from Michigan. If you look, the Santorum signs are placed in the Right-of-Way. (The division between public and private property) It is against Michigan law to have political signs in the R.O.W. The line that delineates the R.O.W. is the property line that usually is at the back of the sidewalk. Romney has his signs in the right place. However, there is a Michigan law that states that only Michigan Dept. of Transportation employees are allowed to remove any political sign from the R.O.W. The man removing the signs obviously not with MDOT and this should be investigated further as to if this man was paid for by the Romney people. If that is true, they should also have to be reprimanded for this unlawful action.
There is no Michigan law that only MDOT can remove these illegally placed political signs. (I'd love to see MCL otherwise). Think about it - most of the roads (and thus ROW) are not maintained by MDOT. They're maintained by local DPWs.
The law simply designates that signs may not be placed in Right of Ways because it can pose a traffic hazard.
If it's deemed the signs are there illegally, then it would be perfectly okay - under the direction of local law enforcement or the local DPW - to remove the signs.
This video is gotcha journalism and much-ado-about-nothing.
Yup, A TOTAL DIRTBAG!! The only way this excuse for a Republican can advance his cause is at the expense of the others and by putting others down! Do you see any difference between the likes of slimy Romney and Obama??? Answer NO, NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL! What a slimy disgusting individual and candidate! I can't wait to see him lose the primary!!
Wow, I guess only a dirtbag would jump to conclusions too. If signs are placed in the Right of Way, like these Santorum signs are, then they were illegally placed.
You see the cop at the end of the video. If there was any kind of legitimate claim that the signs were being "stolen" we'd have video of a criminal complaint being filed. All we see is the video abruptly ends.
Yup, a TOTAL DIRTBAG.
Show us your Michiagn credentials that indicate your expertise on this subject, and justify your legal claims about these signs vs. ROW and we will happlily shut up. I assume the credentials will be from Michigan, indicating your understanding of Michigan law.
Waiting.....
This just looks bad for Mitt and even if it was public or private land. And just like the polls, Santoum was leading in the signs that were put that stretched down the road
RS,
Nobody wants to support Romney now and I think the GOP has finally come to the conclusion we cannot be forced to support someone we do not want and they cannot win if they do not have our votes. Let's see what they do with this now that they are beginning to see the light.
I know these guys the company they work for have a private contract in the public works department. I talk to the owner of the property that the signs were in front of he called the public works department to have them removed because legally they were on the twnship portion of the property. No I i not a romeny fan or a santorum fan but ignorance i bliss and hype out of nothing what happened to real journalism these days?
Well, let me clear that up. The signs were illegally placed.
Placing signs on property without the owner's permission is illegal in Michigan. So is placing them in the road's Right of Way.
The appearance of the cop at the end kinda illustrates this was a legal removal. If it wasn't, we'd see video of a criminal complaint being filed. No video, no people being arrested, then there's really no problem here.
