Rush is frustrated at how people decide the electability of a candidate and believes the media plays too big a part in what we think. In the midst of this he weighed in on Perry, saying that he’s been hoping Perry would catch fire because he has a good record as governor. But even in Rush’s circle of friends some believe Perry can’t win because he seems stupid and is an embarrassment.

I’m not sure that’s exactly Bo Snerdley’s position, but he weighs in at the end of the clip saying that people, for once, want a candidate who is as articulate of conservative principles as Rush.

Here’s the clip:

Perry has 6 debates before the South Carolina primary where he could catch fire

But will he make it to the the playoffs? Playoffs!?

Yep. Time to start talking about playoffs. Daddy is watching NFL playoffs right now.

I don’t think a lot of people know this, and I didn’t either until I read this article. Rick Perry had just come off serious back surgery and was taking pain killers. It’s obvious it affected his debate performance. Here’s a good article. There’s a meeting coming up in mid January. It explains it in the article. Dr. Jack Wheeler and John Bolton are advising him on foreign policy.

THE MEETING THAT CAN CHANGE THE WORLD
      Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler
      Thursday, 05 January 2012

Gobsmacked. It’s the word Brits use when they are stunned by something ridiculously astounding. Late Tuesday night (1/03), I was beyond gobsmacked when I heard the results of the Iowa Caucuses. Now it is Thursday (1/05), and I remain profoundly shaken by the stupefying stupidity of the Iowa caucus voters.

It tells me that Zero’s election in 2008 was no fluke, no spasm of temporary masochistic insanity. That voters are into reality-denial up to their ears. That whatever part of their brain they are using to vote with, it is most assuredly not their ratiocinative part.

Iowans have no idea what they did to their country Tuesday: they substantially increased the odds that Zero will win re-election in November. It wasn’t Romney or Santorum who won in Iowa. It was Zero who won, hands down.

I have been just as delusional as Iowa voters in my own way for a long time, so I owe them a soupçon of gratitude for snapping me out of it.

I should have realized America was in mortal peril when the video went viral of Zero’s preacher, to whom he had listened and followed for 20 years, praying for God to damn America – and instead of it nuking any chance whatever of Zero’s electability, Americans just shrugged it off.

Yet I chugged on, convincing myself that voters would come to their senses, that it was as impossible as a cat giving birth to puppies for Zero – the most laughably unqualified candidate in presidential history, and the most explicitly Anti-American to boot – to actually be elected. And he was.

Temporary insanity – that’s what it has to be, I deluded myself. Then came the Tea Parties. Yes! I exulted. The insanity was over, Americans are being Americans again! The overthrow of the Pelosi Congress in the 2010 elections with a Tea Party Congress in its place convinced me more than ever.

But as 2011 dragged on, and the Tea Party Congress morphed into the Boehner Defund-Nothing Wimp-Out Congress, my conviction faltered.

During the summer, I read Rick Perry’s book, Fed Up!, which raised my hopes and dashed them at the same time. It advocated exactly what is needed for America to be America again – eliminate the federal government’s unconstitutional powers and programs via the 10th Amendment – yet its author clearly had no intention of running for president. No one with that intention would ever write such unmentionable truths as Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.

Then Perry looked at the Pub field full of folks driven by their ego and oblivious to their inadequacies. He felt a calling, a God-given duty against his desires to do his best to rescue his country from the abyss. It was too soon. He had to have serious back-surgery, the pain medication made him dingy, he said dumb things in the debates, his support melted away and looked elsewhere.

You get paid for these referrals?

Perry lost any chance by calling 80% of us Heartless. I am sorry but I am not heartless for thinking Americans should obey the law. To give illegals anything is rewarding their illegal behavior. College students are adults as such they should obey the law and leave America for home if illegal every day they do not do so they break our laws and destroy the things that make America great (law abiding citizens being foremost among those things).

        • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

U R heartless, and brainless, how you like that! I want to give you 30 homeless children, for 30 days. Lets see how much heart you receive. Note, heartless means uncaring. Still sending food to Africa? I’ll bet you break the law every day. One mile over the speed limit is nothing, right?

          • bobemakk

Allen Poe, are you kidding me? Illegal immigrants are the biggest drain on our economy. They work for cash, send it home, pay no taxes and collect welfare and food stamps and you want to sympathize with them. That is utter nonsense. Now Perry wants to educated them as well, another big drain on our economy. Wake up!

Gingrich for president. The lamestream media is trashing Newt for “historical” baggage. All politicians have baggage if we dig deep enough, but the lamestream/left socialists won’t expose democrats, they love the big zero/Obama. Newt has made his mark with his “Contract with America,” a contract he fulfilled that no other politician can match. He is a true conservative.

However, I will vote for anyone who runs against the Obama regime.

            • http://twitter.com/csouza59 Chris

The biggest drain in this country are the entitlement programs which grow ever larger as unemployment remains high. Jobs, Jobs Jobs!!!!!!!Perry has a record of JOBS!

        • Anonymous

Texas does deport illegals. Perry doesn’t disagree. But you can’t catch them all. For those that aren’t caught, do you want them to be
          a) Wards of the state
          b) Educated individuals who can contribute something back.

He apologized for saying “heartless.” Forgiveness is a virtue. :-)

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Hart-Rueter/1532830058 Hart Rueter

Perry was wrong in how he handled that topic but the reality of what he was conveying is sincere. These illegal kids have been in Texas for the majority of their lives. They are American in every sense but birthright. Students are picked from the top 10% of the States top schools. These then are picked by the Universities by their accomplishments. Out of all these kids there are probably 4-6 illegals, maybe. I really would rather help them continue their education then throw them out of the country and turn them against us! This is a problem for Our State Department to get ahold of ASAP! Perry is the best choice for the President. His track record is not perfect but no one’s is. He definitely has more pluses than minuses. He’s the guy, Please give him another chance !

          • K-Bob

I’ve decided that I can put up with Perry’s stance here. I don’t think he has the correct position on the illegal alien problem, but I suspect he’ll at least uphold the law.

The single biggest warning flag on Perry is his statement at a conference at the 2001 Border Summit, where he declared his support for an open border, by saying:

President Fox’s vision for an open border is a vision I embrace, as long as we demonstrate the will to address the obstacles to it.

It is crucial to note this was a statement made BEFORE 9-11. The points you just made also ameliorate the whole “student” issue.

Logic and economics dictate we cannot fix this problem via mass deportation. But we cannot deal with it by issuing mushy, unclear statements of policy. But deal with it we must.

Perry needs to be asked about this again and again until he articulates a solid, workable plan to deal with illegal aliens.

        • http://twitter.com/csouza59 Chris

How about calling us stupid b/c that is what we all are if we vote for anybody but Perry. I don’t give a shit about the illegals right now. I care about finding the ONLY qualified candidate who can get our economy off life support. Perry plans as laid out can do that very thing.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1060725328 Cynthia Cassidy

okay, so, I live in TX and believe me, we would ALL like to deport all the illegals. But, what are you gonna do, drive an INS van up to the elementary school 2 blocks from my house? The Fed govt makes it impossible to get immigration status on kids enrolled in school, or food stamps or medical care. So, what we have down here are kids graduating from HS who have been here since they were infants. Should we arrest them the minute they are 18 years old? well, that’s NEVER going to happen. I absolutely agree with the in state tuition, and guess what? its MY tax dollars subsidizing it (TX also ALWAYS has a positive cash flow to the Feds… i.e… we pay more to DC than we EVER get back – so, even Fed education dollars are ours in the first place). It is TX choice, you all don’t have to do that if you want, wherever you are from. The economic argument is… if we have already educated, fed (school lunch programs, food stamps), housed, provided medical care, etc. for these kids for the last 18 years, it makes a lot more sense to offer this path to becoming contributing members of society, taxpayers (because they must seek legal residence/citizenship status while using the in state tuition), and GET THEM OFF THE WELFARE roles. There is no way, and there should not be a policy, that these kids should be deported. They were on the same soccer teams, football teams, went on field trips, boy scouts, church… right along side of all our kids. They know nothing of Mexico. You know what ? It’s DC’s fault. the border needs to be shut down! and we need to be able to deport them. But, I have no idea what you think we should do about this problem now. RICK PERRY 2012!!!!

    ::bangs head on desk::

I’m just hoping Perry stays in until some big red states get to vote.
These ‘early’ states are mostly blue, with a lot of Dems voting for Romney or Paul.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Angell/100001860262545 Steve Angell

He gets credit for the right and wrong he did.

      The Wrong
      Gardasil
      Homeowners are screwed commission.
Make all Perry’s friends rich laws.
Make illegals happy with free tuition citizens have to pay for. Even calling those that oppose this idiocy heartless.

The right well after the wrong I do not care. There are others running none are this wrong on that many things. Well Romney perhaps.

      • Anonymous

        Why are homeowners screwed commission?

      • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

        You forgot your hero, Obama.

      • Anonymous

        1. Gardasil had an opt out making it OPTional. Nonetheless, Perry listened and backed off. Is that bad? Seems like a good thing to me.

        2. Homeowners are screwed commission. No idea what that means.

        3. Texas does tons of business with different organizations and individuals. The two stories I have read does not mean they are payoffs. Correlation doesn’t mean causation. I simply don’t see a pattern of kickbacks with Perry.

        4. It’s not free tuition. Children of illegal immigrants still have to pay tuition. They just get in the in state rate.

        • Josh

Here is the problem with “…the in state rate.”: How on earth are these people able to pay thousands of dollars for school and yet can’t pay for the process to become citizens? If they are so rich that they can afford (even the in state rate) college, but cannot afford to get a passport and a visa?

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Hart-Rueter/1532830058 Hart Rueter

The person wanting to immigrate to America is not the problem. The State Dept. is the problem. For some reason, not one person is asking why these people risk life and limb to cross the border illegally? Why do that if you can get to America legally? It is not only difficult to apply legally, it is extreemly expensive and thus out of reach for the people who are trying to find a better life for themselves and their families. Why not make it easier and clearer and affordable to immigrate. What happened to sponsorship? I help my neighbors get greencards and or citizenship. I tutor them in the Constitution and local laws. I even help their kids with school work. They all become contributing , law abiding and home owing citizens. The kids join the armed forces and defend the country. You can’t paint with such a wide brush the issues that face these immigrants. They’re willing to risk their lives to become Amercans!! Are You?

            • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1060725328 Cynthia Cassidy

AGREE!!!! and, lets also remember the years on the waiting list. I live in TX and know a couple of young people who are in college now who are actually still illegal. believe me, one of them is a very bright and motivated young lady, top of her class and has a wonderful future. much better to extend an opportunity than have them borderline poverty all their lives. we already paid, in full I might add, for educating them K-12. It really is Texas’ decision whether or not to extend the in state tuition and if these people lived here, they would know why.

              • Josh

I am not completely heartless. I have endured my share of poverty and pulled myself out of it. However, whether they get in-state or out-of-state tuition just gives legitimacy to there existence here illegally. It is very Obama-ish to decide what laws you can follow and what laws we can ignore.

                • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1060725328 Cynthia Cassidy

I just think it is a matter of you not understanding the extent of it down here. Again, it’s our decision as a state. We have already housed, fed, educated these kids for most of their lives. You can’t just deport a person when they know no other place. So, if they are going to be here, it’s a much better economic decision to give an opportunity to be a contributing member of society rather than just pick up on the govt handouts when they become adults. It’s DC’s fault for not allowing any check on citizenship at the schools, hospitals, food stamps, etc. Now you have people who have been on our youth soccer teams, HS football, scouts, church… and when they turn 18, they get sent somewhere they don’t even know? Close the border, stop the influx. But you just can’t do that to kids who did nothing but get dragged over here when they were as young as infants. And, no, I don’t think you are heartless. I just think you may not know the extent of the situation. Believe me, I had no idea that there were enough brands and types of tortillas to fill up the right side of the entire bread aisle of the grocery store…. it’s true. And I am not being mean either, I really had no idea and really can’t tell the difference as to why there must be so many different types. I have to go to a different store to get the bagels I like. By the way… it’s getting worse here. so, can we all concentrate on closing the borders now?

            • Josh

I understand what you are saying. The immigration process is completely horrible and it keeps some really nice people from becoming citizens. I get it.

The problem that I have is with your statement that it is “extreemly expensive”! Yep! Guess what? College is REALLY EXPENSIVE TOO. I am going back to school in my later years and by the time I am through it will cost me over $60k. And I have to pay for it myself too.

So tell me again how they can spend $60k for tuition and becoming a citizen is out of their reach. That was my point.

      • Anonymous

It’s not free tuition. Please don’t lie.

Reminds me of the old Starkist commercial – Starkist dont want tunas with good taste, Starkist wants tunas that taste good.

There is no perfect candidate. Conservatives aren’t electing a talking head photo-op movie star who can spout a good line and smile a twinky bright smile – we are electing a president who will save our country. This will be a difficult job and whoever we choose must be ready, willing and able to work hard to do that. Whoever your candidate is, whoever my candidate is, whoever our candidate is, it is substance that matters. Choose wisely.

I wholly agree with Rush. Why do Republican voters believe the meme of the media? Whatever caricature the media depicts about our candidates, especially non-Romneys, we swallow it. When in the history of politics have the voters negated a candidate’s public policy, voting record and positions yet focused on debates skills? And why should I believe the premise that Obama is a good debater? He’s not a good debater, he’s a liar.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Rush is SO right (as usual) it’s pathetic that in an election that is the most important in our time, that people worry about stupid superficial stuff. It used to annoy me when people cut on Sarah because of her voice, or Michelle for some of the same. And I’ve heard the same extreme crap about Santorum as well as the others. I don’t think Perry is stupid at all. So he made a couple of stumbles, but shoot, who hasn’t? Dear leader anyone? Plugs is a walking stumbling moron- and people think Rick Perry, because he forgot number 3? Perry’s not my top choice, my top choices decided not to run, got run out on false disgusting lies and didn’t quite cut it even though she’s perfectly capable. Now my top choice is Santorum- extreme? So we have a man who is strong in faith, lives his faith and will not change his mind to suit which way the wind blows, so he’s extreme. That’s my kind of person.
Go Santorum. People need to look past fluff, and look at substance.

Oh, and well said Snerdly! How about a Rush administration?

At this point, nothing would surprise or delight me more in this arena. Spontaneous combustion, the morphing of a great Governor into the Heat Miser from “The Year Without A Santa Claus” or the Human Torch from “The Fantastic Four”. Something.

Romney’s more like a pseudo-conservative Al Gore, the climate whore. The lackluster go-to when all else has failed. Have you tried to imagine yourself getting fired up to go to the polls and vote for him? I have. I get in the car and make it to the polls and vote, but I’m not fired up. I just want Obama evicted from the position he won by stealth and fraud. If Romney has to be the vehicle that delivers that eviction, so be it. Overwhelming rejection is what we need for O’ this time around.

The scary thing about Perry is that you find yourself wondering if he’ll choke at precisely the wrong times. That’s a shame too because I think he’d be really good, but really caricatured by the MSM, unjustly. Hopefully no one will try to douse him with petrol and light a match. That would be rude.

This Scooparific headline caught me off guard :-)

    • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

Had to comment. If Perry ever choked at the wrong moment, he would be dead. Aviation is grossly unforgiving of human error. Non pilot’s have no concept of pilot’s lives. ‘If you cannot find an error, make up one’, is the Liberal doctrine. DNC did a good job on Perry, and on you, apparently. The DNC did a good job on FDR, too. He was worshipped for 12 years, as he drove us into the ground. RR was much too popular, they had to shoot him.

      • Anonymous

I don’t watch the MSM Edgar, ever. I am using my own eyes and ears. A camera and a microphone are usually fairly neutral. If you haven’t seen Perry stumble on national TV, then you’re blind. If you haven’t heard him stumble, you’re deaf.

I said the MSM would caricature him, unjustly. I also said I think he’d be really good. I don’t think you should have responded to this post. It didn’t warrant it.

        Quoth the raven: Huh?

By the way Perry has choked at the wrong moment, and according to the polls, he is dead. I don’t like it. I wish it wasn’t the case, but there it is.

It takes a bunch of positives to override a negative. He snatched defeat from the jaws of victory early on and has been struggling to make it up since. It’s a darn shame is what it is.

Rush is right. The superficial evaluation of the candidates is a serious problem for conservatives. Governor Perry’s record is incredible and he has performed very well in all of the recent debates.

Governor Perry had surgery on his back less than a month before entering the race. He had a spinal fusion which is a complicated and difficult procedure. His early missteps were from fatigue because he simply hadn’t recovered.

Governor Perry’s interviews have been impressive. Not only is he articulate but he is also charasmatic and likeable.

I hope people will listen to Rush because he is so right about Governor Perry’s record and if he gets a second look we will have an authentic conservative who absolutely will challenge Romney and Obama.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IDAKYMXLZIRLMLGEZJXV3AOO7E Vorlath

The problem with Perry is that just one performance like he did when he mumbled his words and it’s game over. Obama cancels all further debates and rides to the next election without any obstacles.

      I must disagree.

I checked into Perry from people living in Texas. I was not impressed. Not only do Illegals get in-state tuition they get State Paid Pell Grants only illegals qualify for partially paid for by the legal students tuition ($564/semester). He called us Heartless for opposing this I would never call him that but if either of us is it is him for supporting that garbage. You can not call 80% of the base Heartless and have any chance of winning.

I must insert some facts about educational financial aid.

The Pell Grant is a post-secondary educational FEDERAL grant program sponsored by the U.S Department of Education. Enacted to help undergraduates of low-income families in receiving financial aid. It is the Higher Education Act of 1965, Title IV, Part A, Subpart 1; 20 U.S.C. 1070a

It is now not nor has it ever been a state run program of any type and is available to all children who have graduated from local schools and are below a certain income level.

This grant has absolutely nothing at all to do with the STATE or GOVENOR in which the school happens to be located.

      • Anonymous

I live in Texas and think Perry is great. In fact, I voted for him 3 times simply because there is no way I will vote for a democrat.

It wasn’t until this election and researching the Texas story did I realize just how great an executive Perry is. And then on top of the economic story, you have how Perry and his team handled the wave of hurricanes in the area including helping the Katrina evacuees where anything could have gone wrong, it is more impressive.

      • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

I am from Texas, NM, and Okla. Most people like and vote for Perry, except for a few old grumps. I being poor, did not get Pell, although as prof, helped many get it. Illegals cannot enter Texas universities. Indians get in free. Again, Perry said if you deny poor children from education grants, you are heartless. If that offends you, or any base, I dislike you. Having met millions of GOP’s, they are nowhere near your stance. You are not us. We are not garbage. If you want to vote for someone who can win, just keep it up, and vote for your mentor, Obamam.

      • Anonymous

There seems to be a lot of misinformation being spread about Governor Perry.

The in-state tuition for illegal immigrants was a decision made by the state legislature with a three fourth majority which was veto proof.

Governor Perry is not soft on illegal immigration.

He campaigned for and signed voter ID legislation.

He signed a bill preventing illegal aliens from being issued a driver’s license.

He called an emergency session during which he called for the banning of sanctuary cities.

He budgeted 40 million dollars for border law enforcement agencies which included sheriff and local police in border counties. This covered additional training, pay and overtime for the terrible burden they face in trying to keep the border safe. Border security is the responsibility of the federal government and President Obama has failed to provide the necessary funding or troop support.

Governor Perry, as President, has stated loud and clear, that he will have the border secured within a year.

Make a list. Every President from zeroman going back. Next to their name write down another list of their negative traits. If you can find the “perfect person” let me know. Thanks.

Please, think about this. It’s the traitor or anybody else. Please vote for anybody else, anybody.

Hate is a very hard road. Yes, vote out Obama, but please, vote for something, not against. Forget the personal attacks, vote for someone proven to do what you want.

  • Richard Laycock

If Rick took Snerdly’s advice to heart he’d win the nomination in a walk.

This is what I don’t get – it’s sometimes painful to watch him. Why does he show up to debates and even rallies without a well-crafted, -honed, articulate message? I should think that would be a proirity. He’s perfectly capable of doing so; the fact that he doesn’t just bothers me. It says SOMETHING about him – I’m not sure what yet.

He had a crappy campaign team in the beginning, his old team only knew how to run a campaign in Texas not nationally, but he is follow his new team on his campaign now and is doing a lot better with them.

He isn’t the talking head that Romney is – maybe that’s part of it?

      • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

I probably am wasting your time, but: Perry is a smart, capable, Christian man. He is not a slick NYC salesman. He does not try to sell you something. He explains his position, and expects you to respect it. I know NYC people are highly suspicious of such people, Bush proved that. He is plainly, what you see, that’s what you get. You want a lying, sly, slick salesman, I suggest you stay with Obama. If you want a wonderful president, you begin by backing Perry. I am not sure the USA can be saved. He at least, will try.

Rush is right on. I wish he had mentioned this earlier and helped offset the media frenzy against Rick Perry. True, his early performance was not good do to pain and exhaustion from his recent back surgery. He did not make excuses as lesser people might, and simply went to work to repair any damage to his image. He worked on his rehab from surgery and regained his strength, and at the same time worked harder than all of the other candidates on his campaign. What I see from his effort is a man of unusual character with the precise experience needed to lead this country out of it’s present difficulties. He is the true and consistant conservative that Rush wants, and much more. He is the only candidate to have served his country in the military, a most important experience as we have learned in recent years. Rick Perry has demonstrated a love of country, of his state of Texas, and of his family, through his loyalty. As the longest serving governor of texas,we have a record of leadership to look at. As the governor points out, Texas is the thirteenth largest economy in the world, and it is thriving during a difficult time in our country. Governor Perry has clearly explained how he can put our people back to work and reduce our debt. He is commited to reducing the size of our federal government, all basic conservative values. I believe we are very fortunate to have a man like Rick Perry for our canditate for president. I believe we have the new Ronald we have wanted.

Sorry Rushbo, but PEOPLE ARE STUPID! and there are MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of them that’s how Obama got elected and will again! Especially today, after generations of brainwashing by the left wing/ liberal/socialists not to mention Mainstream Media and HOLLYWOOD tag-teaming Americans!Add to that generations that SPEND FAR TOO MUCH TIME watching T.V and playing VIDEO games which only ROTS their minds! People are so STUPID,AND GULLIBLE they let the “lefties coalition” talk us out of Herman Cain with only rumors and weak stories by uncredible liars, even when other politicians have done FAR WORSE,that’s why you can forget about Perry, and that’s why Romney will be “THE CHOICE” and get his BUTT KICKED BY OBAMA!

    • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

I dearly hope you are wrong.

Heard Rush talk about this and he is right. Here is Perry’s problem in a nutshell; he wants to overthrow the status quo and those who want it are in power and they will do everything to see he does not succeed. This is why vanilla Mitt is being lauded because he is part of the gang; Perry is not. This is also why I support Rick Perry and why every American should as well. There is finally someone who will do everything possible to change DC and so far the GOP has rejected him. Some call Rick stupid, but methinks it might be those who want the same old track.

  • Anonymous

I understand where Snerdley is coming from and if there was a candidate as conservative as Perry and as articulate as Rush I would vote for him. Unfortunately no one in the race meets that qualification.

  • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

Right on, Rush! Heaven forbid, we debate the issues. Personal attacks are what we want, so we can re elect Obaman! Oh, history is irrevelant, or so they say. Forget the Alamo.

IMHO, If Romney wins the nomination; Maobama is guaranteed another four years.

The people, because of their blindness chose a Saul, but God chose a David. The people were looking for a conquering king, God chose a shepherd boy with one smooth stone to conquer a giant.

Rick Perry fits the bill closer then any of the other candidates when lining things up along God’s way of choosing. That’s whose side I want to be on, in these days.

  • Anonymous

That was great Mr. Snerdley. And right on the money.

Rush is part of the media(Radio)! He also supported Romney in 2008-what gives?

    • Anonymous

Our choice was Romney, McCain and Huckabee? Out of 300 million people, that was it.

    • Anonymous

After Thompson dropped out, Romney was the most conservative of the 2008 candidates. McCain was not and is not a true conservative.

      • Anonymous

That does not negate the fact that Rush is part of the media.Talkers make their money off of controversy -it’s up to the listeners to think on their own.Still doesn’t explain why Romney was fine in 2008-if Rush thought he was so horrendous he could have simply not voted for the presidential slot or not come out in favor of anyone!.That would have been intelletually more honest.Still,I think the radio talkers could care less and just worry about their mega salaries. To each their own!

        • K-Bob

He could also have done the sensible thing and back the most conservative candidate available. Which is what he did. Which he has definitely explained many, many times.

2008 was a travesty because we had no solid conservatives in the race, other than Palin as the VP, once the nomination process was over. Romney is bad enough, but McCain was–and still is–worse.

  • Anonymous

What Snerdly said is exactly right. I get so frustrated with both Rush and Mark Levin because they should go on TV more. I know they hate doing it. But until we have someone who can articulate conservatism as well, or even half as well, as they can they are all we’ve got. Do phone interviews.

  • Anonymous

I really wish we could get Mark to do a TV debate. We might get some intelligent questions, that actually pertain to something the government is supposed to do. Not questions like, “How do you feel about gay marriage?” The world is on fire, and they’re main concern is gay marriage?

    Bo Snerdley you rock!

Governor Perry had a back operation on July 1, 2011. Shortly thereafter, he announced for President.

In my opinion, the back operation was not curative. His performance is consistent with someone in chronic pain, with the brutal campaigning the worst thing on earth for a bad back.

Both the pain and the pain medications will not let Rick Perry’s full potential show itself (he is a terrific job creating governor). And having a painful bad back is no reason not to be President (think JFK). Also pain medicine dose misadjustment would explain the one day Perry seemed a little woozey.

He would make a great President.

  • Anonymous

Perry can’t catch fire because he is clearly NOT ready for the national spotlight. His debate performances were horrible. I listened to an interview he conducted about the Supreme Court, and he thought there were 8 justices, and totally botched Sotomayor’s name. Anyone who keeps up with current events should know that one.

    • K-Bob

No one knows how to correctly pronounce her name.

The Perry crowd heaped a ridiculous amount of hero worship on a guy nobody outside of Texas knew…He was to be the great white hope riding out of Texas on his stallion…His early debate gaffs showed the public that he was not ready for prime time. Not even sure he could win re-election in Texas at this point. The Perry apologists and hero worshippers like Rush continue to hope for a Tebow moment…Not going to happen. The country is not Texas and doesn’t want to be…He is a one trick pony with the “this is what we do in Texas schtick.”

I understand Rush’s frustration, and am more than a little worried about folks who associate articulate speech or oratory skills with intelligence. My parents and grandparents warned me against “smooth talkers” like Clinton and Obama. Give me plain speaking any day of the week.

    • Eric Simpson

Take the ‘positive and negative wires’ of faith & tea party cut govt conservatism. Put them together to gain electrified unity, that will galvanize the base, to raise huge $, to fight the BIG battle against the secular liberal welfare state. Rick Perry.

Santorum: “I am against the Tea Party and what they are trying to do to conservatism.” Say it ain’t so, Joe.

This is a complete 180 from the obama run in 2008. If you asked his supporters to give you 1 thing he did to qualify for President of the US,they couldn’t do it.Perry has the the record, and they don’t want to support him because he doesn’t debate well. Are you kidding me. Perry has been doing better each time out.Ask yourself this question, how many times does the President have to debate with anyone? He doesn’t debate the American People,he comes before us and gives a speech.Perry does this very well, and he does it solo, without a TP(unlike obama)Don’t get hung up on something that’s a minor point at this time. Keep you minds open, let the process do what its suppose. In the end there will be only one Give the underdog a chance. That used to be the American Way

  • Anonymous

    Yawn.
1.Perry is Polling at 5% in his “last stand” State of South Carolina
    2. The last thing this Nation wants is another Governor from Texas.

    Bye bye Ricky

This is a complete 180 from obama’s run in 2008.No record, people didn’t care, elected him anyway, look what we got.Perry has a good record, the best of the bunch.people don’t care, why, because he can’t debate. Are you kidding me.He has gotten better each time out, which shows he is learning. Will he ever be a world class debater?I don’t know or care.Does the President of the US even need to be?The Pres. gives hundreds of speeches,Something Perry does very well and he does it solo, without a TP(unlike obama)Don’t get hung up on a minor pointKeep your mind open.Just because some name says it’s locked up doesn’t mean it is.Remember Dewey Wins!!! ?Let the procaess play out like it was meant to.You might give the underdog a chance. • http://twitter.com/nancysabet1 nancy sabet

Rush is right , media is playing a major role in this process, and we , the people, don’t have a voice. They shut down Perry from their outlets and act as if he does not matter; when In fact he is the only one matters. I just hope the Tea Parties come out and supporting him.

  • Anonymous

Love Rush but he’s deep in left field here. Just listen to Governor Perry Rush, he is slower to the punch on every turn. I like the man and his patriotism but the Usurper would chew him up in debate and we have too many knuckleheads in the electorate that will base their vote strictly on that and the way the media will portray it.

    • K-Bob

I’d take Rick’s Bush-like clumsiness over the stuttering CF any day of the week. Obama has to overcome Obama, which makes it much easier for Republicans. A good campaign run by a man who will actually speak out–which Perry has done over and over–will defeat Obama.

The only candidates who would lose to Obama are Paul, Huntsman, and Romney. Although, Romney could win in a squeaker.

  • Jim Botts

If Perry calls Obama out for what he is, he’s going to have a strong finish. Will it be enough, I don’t know. But somebody’s got to say it!

    • Anonymous

Agree that he should aim at Obama, but he’s wasting his time trying to bring Mitt down using Democratic attacks. I think it’s too late for him to get back his mojo. Too many people think he’s not up to the job. I’d certainly vote for him over Obama or Ron Paul, but he’d have to win the nomination first.

  • http://mcnorman.wordpress.com/ mcnorman

Rush is correct. Perhaps he should just state the obvious. Look at that articulate man in the White House. That is what the MSM sold the public as bright. Now, look at the economy and what his inexperience (but he’s so polished) has gotten us.

Because nobody with a heart would oppose the Dream Act. That’s why.

    Goodbye Perry.

I prefer Perry to DC lobbyists and insiders Santorum and Gingrich.

He’s kidding, right? When you try a lighter four times and it just sparks but won’t light, you toss it. Maybe he’s a better candidate when he’s not suffering back pain. But he’s not going to pull it off this time around.

He did pretty well today, but he’s not getting many questions anymore.

I think he reminds people too much of George W. Bush.

    • Anonymous

When Pres. Bush was Gov. of Texas,he and Perry managed to get along. They were and are 2 different kinds of kinds of Republicans. Pres. Bush being of the progressive, Perry being conservative.Their love of Country, and Texas are about the only things they have in common. People who use this argument fall into one of these groups those who are to lazy to to become informed on any subject before spouting off, those who know what they are saying is not true but feel justified in doing so,because they dislike the person, and those who are sheeples,or cattle ,put a ring in their noses and they’ll follow you any where. These groups are not exclusive, they are inclusive.

      • Anonymous

You may be right. I didn’t say he reminds ME of G. W. Bush, but a lot of people don’t bother to research him, especially when he messes up on stage like he did.

Right now, he seems to be over that, but his attacks on Bain Capital and calling Mitt a “Vulture Capitalist” will not help him with conservatives. He’s making charges that don’t stand up under scrutiny.

  • blue.horseshoe

Rick Perry is a progressive, big government, statist with a muzzie problem.

Bush version 3.0 is in bed with Grover Norquist and the CAIR agenda. Perry has signed a halal law in Texas. Creeping sharia people.

Also, he lied about how much money he got from Merck for forcing Gardasil on young girls at the debates. His former chief of staff, now working on the campaign, is a Merck lobbyist.

Check out Perry’s ties to Huawei, the Chi-com spy front company.

NAFTA corridor and imminent domain abuse as well.

Perry likes to blow huge sums of money on out of state trips. Right now, he’s blowing $400,000 a month in Texas tax payer money for security. His presidential bid isn’t state business.

Perry has a crony capitalist problem with state appointments.

Perry has been involved with ACORN.

Seriously folks, haven’t ya’ll had your fill of “compassionate conservatives”, that can’t talk in public, Texas governors for a lifetime?

To be objective, I would like to hear rebuttle from the PRO Perry group. Especially to the charges from 1990 forward. I know he was a DemocRAT before 1990 but I want to hear more about after he became a Republican.

Please no side stepping stick to the facts.

Please keep in mind Perry is one of my choices too but not my top one.

  • Mike Lee

After Bush’s 8 years, Americans will not elect another inarticulate Texan for quite some time. Perry has nobody to blame but himself. He blew it. It might not be fair, and perhaps Perry would make a great POTUS, but I don’t think we’ll ever get to find out.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Q5D45JJR3MV55EVEZPMDPUHH4Q peeches

No one else is electable in the crowd….Romney does not have prayer of beating Obama…Our country cannot afford another four years of his arrogance and also his intolerence of anyone that does not espouse his liberal views.
