How did you like the rousing applause? Unlike Rush, I have known a lot of these students. I have seen them applaud for 30 minutes for a rock group. I have also had the greiving momnet when a promising student drops out, becasue the president has promised he will not have to work for money.

The economy Obama deserves to take heat on. But the military? How can you make such a stance? I guess a better question is, what could Obama do differently to show he cares about the military? Raise the budget of the military during each of his years in office? Kill OBL as well as other top members of Al-Qaeda? Intervene in Libya without losing a single American life? Getting our troops out of Iraq (albeit Bush had this on deck already) and Afghanistan?? This is one of those points belabored by conservatives, yet I can’t understand its justification.

He could reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, he could ACTUALLY give us raises (like Bush did EVERY SINGLE YEAR in ADDITION to the raise Congress usually gives). Obama REFUSES to give a raise besides the one Congress mandates due to Cost of Living costs. He could reinstate the original Hostile-Fire pay, rather than saying “You ONLY get Hostile Fire pay if you are currently ACTUALLY getting shot at”, etc… HE IS NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY.

Whenever I deployed, I got Hazard Duty/Hostile Fire Pay, due to the close-proximity to active War Zones. My base had been attacked in the past (although a little while ago), but we were ACTIVELY fighting the war from my base. NOW, I wouldn’t get that pay, even though it’s STILL a Hazardous Duty/Hostile Fire Location…coming next will be the removal of Tax-Free Basic Pay while deployed.

To reinstate DADT would just keep us (U.S.) in the stone age. Why don’t we get rid of women and segregate the military as well while we’re at it. As for military pay, that’s too esoteric for me to give my 2 cents. But I don’t think that’s sufficient evidence for a winning argument on Obama’s abhorrence for the military.

He also cut the Air Force to it’s smallest force EVER (even at it’s inception it was bigger than it’s about to be), cut out tons of Soldiers and Marines, cut a ton of military projects, and TOLD US we can no longer fight two wars at once (mostly due to his actions).

Obama could hang himself to start with. This action would clearly indicate that he was willing to take responsibilty of his horrible tenure in the Whitehouse. It would also signal to the military, things are looking up.
As far as Libya is concerned, let’s go to the remainder of the Arab Spring. He gave our enemies in the Islamic world, The Muslim Brotherhood, a gaint vacuum to which they blew right iin to fill and now our military has to worry about that many more enemies to which they might have to engage with an already depleted and worn out volunteer force. Then there’s the question of the repeal of DODT because as you infer, we’re iin the 21st century so all the queers that wish to come out of the closet and be recognized as sexual deviants can now do so without repercussions which I’m sure the rest of the normals that do follow God’s law will have somewhat of a little trouble with the re-enlistment. Don’t that get in the way with your little social engineering experiment because I’m sure that you can find amongst the three percent of the sexual deviant population enough to fill the ranks. Why not just create an entire section of the military to fight under Obamao’s direct command as I’m certain most of them would voluntarily swear allegiance to the One. He can send them wherever with just a quick dash of the pen. I’m certain those in Congress on your side will be willing to have special funding for them and their equipment. I can see it now, new career choices:
hairdressing
uniform and dress fabrication
Fashionable camouflage
New codes in communications
French cooking
New salutes perhaps something like Spaceballs.

I’m certain given enough time I could think of many others but this will do for starters.Like Carter, Obama’s ineptitude when it comes to foreign policy has left our enemies either thinking the US is a weak paper tiger or our Allies thinking we’re totally on our own unless we can negotiate a treaty where the US can export yet another few million jobs.
Obama is as much a disaster as the 1906 Earthquake to SF or the 2010 Earthquake tsunami was to Japan or perhaps a cataclysm from an asteroid ten miles across striking the earth at 25 thousand mph. Get my point?

I don’t begrudge anybody with the talent that many of these people have. It’s sad that we have lifted these individuals up so high that many of them can’t figure out what ‘high’ they’re on? I hope we learn someday, what is really important. Who is more important. Not some ‘flash in the pan’ figure that pretends to be the cure to what ails us? I think Whitney is the latest example of this. Her star was bright in the 80′s and 90′s. But it faded and their was someone else to come along when she fell. And then someone else and someone else. This president is no different. Kennedy, Clinton and now Obama. Someone else is going to come along and promise more than what they are willing to give.
