A lib called into Rush today claiming that tax collections were higher under Reagan than now, that in fact Obama gave into Republicans and made a third of the Stimulus tax cuts, and that taxes are lower today than they were even under George W. Bush. In other words tax cuts don’t work, and he questions why Rush is still calling for them when they’ve been proven not to work.
Rush challenges the guy on what those tax cuts where in the Stimulus and of course he didn’t know. After some back and forth Rush eventually just asks the guy what it’s like to go through life being wrong about everything. And of course the guy makes an Oxycontin remark. Typical lib.
I just wanted to disspell a couple of things he said. Notice on the map below where federal tax revenue was when Reagan was President and where it is now. It’s not even close.
Also notice the yellow box I created on the map to highlight what happened with Federal tax revenues during George W. Bush’s terms after he lowered the tax rate and set it for 10 years. Huh, revenues went up a lot! Of course it was only after the banking crisis hit that it began to trend back downward.
So when Rush said this guy was painfully wrong, he meant it. Just another drone who’s bought into the propaganda machine of our socialist-in-chief and his cronies.
