Santelli slams CNBC analyst for her characterization of the Tea Party

This clip is hilarious. No, it’s not the typical awesomely awesome rant from Santelli, but a more targeted and personal slam of a CNBC analyst for characterizing the Tea Party as not only fringe, but as “freaked out white men who are unemployed”. Let’s just say Santelli didn’t care much for that characterization.

But before you watch the clip there’s one thing you must know about this analyst, Meredith Whitney, to understand Santelli’s slam:

Whitney has recently come under fire for having predicted eight months ago there would be widespread defaults by municipal bond issuers around the country this year. As Bloomberg reported in July, during the first six months of 2011, muni defaults are down 60 percent compared to the same period last year.

So basically, she was completely wrong about municipal bonds (munis) and that’s what Santelli is referring to in this clip, which is what makes this personal (and hilarious!):
