warmonger. Sees the mid-eastern people as sub-human. Thinking that intervention does not cause animosity and unintended consequences, is foolsihly ignoring the plain facts.
- Anonymous
Nothing Santorum has said or says today logically leads to that conclusion. Saying Rick Santorum is a “war monger” is laughable. Newt would go to war over this also. Maobama might even choose that option if he ever pulled his head out. We have to prevent a nuclear Iran – that would destabilize the Middle East and lead to an all out war if Iran succeeds. Stopping them now has to be done.
Take the threat away and peace returns… balance is restored. The Saudi’s want it, Israel wants it, and most of the other nations of the world want it.
I’m stunned that a doctor (Ron Paul) doesn’t clearly see that if we don’t prevent infection now, it will become inflamed and gangrenous.
- BeenSoup
Paul would do it if congress approved it. Listen to the man. But you’ll have to do it your self. The media is hiding a great man from us.
- Anonymous
You make a great point. Maobama jumped into Libya without congress’s approval (impeachable offense?) and that is just plain wrong.
There are aspects of Ron Paul that are indeed bold and great. I’m glad some of the other candidates are now embracing the good things he stands for. I’m moving past some of my earlier contempt that I had for him. He won’t be my first choice in this race but he does provide some excellent perspective and beliefs to the discussion that have been missing. Media be damned.

Not sober but stupor–listen dude–your all screwed up– America is a terror state. Most politicians are war mongers. The islamists on this planet are already dedicated to killing Israel and all of us, you included. Wake up, Jude.
- Anonymous
Mike, how do you define “islamist”? Thanks.
- Anonymous
Anyone who prostrates themselves oriented eastward toward Mecca to pray 5 times a day and owns a Koran.
Is that fairly clear?
- Anonymous
Sure. Thanks.
How would you feel about dropping a couple of nukes on the world’s most “islamist” populated country, Indonesia?
- Anonymous
The only people who are talking about dropping nukes on anyone are Muslims in Iran and Ron Paul supporters.
- Anonymous
Mike said the “islamists” are dedicated to killing all of us. As Indonesia is 90% Muslim, shouldn’t we act in our own self defense now while we can and eliminate them as quickly as possible?

Why do you hate Muslims so much?

LMBO – I see what you did there

I think we should ask Mike that question.

Until they attack us, I’d be willing to help the indonesians fight them. I think God is already after indonesia what with typhoons and tsunamis.

Indonesia is 90% “islamist.”

They are not currently attacking America or our interests. If yuo had been alive pre WWII, would you have advocated giving Hitler time to moderate? That didn’t work that well then, did it?
- Anonymous
Now you are diverting. You stated that “islamists” are dedicated to killing all of us. If that is true, and the largest population of “islamists” lives in Indonesia, shouldn’t we act in the interests of our own self preservation now and eliminate them while we can? There are more of them there than in any other country in the world…shouldn’t we take them out and send the rest of the world’s “islamists” a message not to phuck with us?

You are a classic liberal in your argument. I am a Christian. I beleive in live and let live. Iran, on the other hand does not want to live and let live. We should attack them. Not the people but the theocracy and their nuclear infrastructure. Wouldn’t be great if the world was as black and white as you are trying to make it? You’ve got to think deeper than that, Griz.

you cannot be a follower of “the way” (Christianity) only when it suits your needs. You sound like a politician using the faith as your shield from critique. You are very naive. Folks like you are more dangerous than they are. They are, at the least, honest about what they intend to do. They want to create a califate that covers the planet. You need to read the book “Satanic Verses” by Salman Rushdie.
Islam fits perfectly with what the bible tells us. According to the koran, the 12th imam will come to earth after which he and islam will rule the world for 7 years before armageddon. The bible tells us that an antichrist will rule the world for 7 years before armageddon. Meshes well, don’t you think?
I’ve been to muslim countries. I’ve spoken to hundreds of muslims. Which one of us do you suppose is right?
- Anonymous
What you’re suggesting is blindness friend. Scripture says “the fear of man bringeth a snare.” I fear God, not man. The sin in the Muslim community is no worse than the apostasy and immorality in the US, or anywhere else for that matter. God judges impartially.
- Anonymous
Soounds reasonable unless, of course you lost someone on 09/11. Not as easy to stand by that thought when the murder hits closer to your home.
Do you really believe the immorality in the USA is worse than the muslim community which places murdering an infidal at the very top of their goals and desires? They claim that killing infidals is their god’s primary commandment.

According to the Jews killing us is allowed since we Americans that are not Jewish are gentiles a mere one step above pigs and cows.

It may be allowed but it is not commanded like it is in islam. You people today have not one single clue. I’d love to send a group of you to the middle east on a little vacation. They would separate your head from your body. Then, according to their religion, you will be the beheaders slave for eternity in his paradise. I am amazed at how misinformed you guys are about islam. There’s is a religion of death and murder and yet you want to compare them with hebrews.

Have to agree with MiketheMarine.
Only I would make a SLIGHT correction… They are also dedicated to killing each other. Sunni and Shia do not play well together. FAR MORE Iraqis have been killed by suicide bombers than American Soldiers.
The problem is their religious system… it is insane.
Those who have converted out of it will tell you that. Insane people do desperate things.
- Anonymous
Intervention – you mean like 9/11? Like attempting to demand sharia law in U.S. courts? Like attempting to build a mosque at Ground Zero? Like rioting and burning in the country you immigrated to when someone IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY mocks your religion? Like taking over parts of major cities you immigrated to and telling officials of the country in which you are a GUEST that they have no business being there?
Subhuman? You mean like murdering anyone of your religion who converts to another religion, or rejects your religion? Like following a religion that states that all other religions and all other forms of government must be abolished, and every living soul must convert or die or “give a convincing demonstration of submission” to your god, and that it is acceptable to kill and lie and commit terrorist acts specifically targeting civilians in order to accomplish this? Subhuman, like murdering rape VICTIMS to “restore the family honor”? Like forced marriages with little girls? Like a Muslim mullah saying that it’s OK to have sex with girls so young they’re still in diapers?
As long as you bootlicking Islamophiles keep posting your camouflage lies about Islam, I’ll keep replying with the truth.
We should have dealt with Iran’s nuclear ambitions long ago, after one warning, and decisively. Now the Saudis have interpreted our shilly-shallying to mean that if they don’t want to become Iran’s servants or victims, they’d better get their own nukes. Besides, the 9/11 terrorists were Saudis, which should have told even the mentally-challenged among us what the Saudis think of us.
And the Chinese are profiting and grinning.

You’ve made the case for policing the world, using dealy force as the means of persuasion. There is equal insanity and evil in many other countries, and the US is not interested. You see the US military as infallible, and as the primary tool that God uses to execute wrath in the world. If there were a shred of truth that the US is under a theocracy, as ancient Israel was, then you would have a point. The scripture warns repeatedly about shedding blood for any reason other than murdering the innocent, and that only allows for the actual offender to be put to death. You have the numbers on your side of the argument, but you don’t have eternal truth, which means you have nothing. The evil religion of the muslim world can only be overthrown by the apostles of Jesus Christ, and His gospel.
- Anonymous
It is impractical to insert a complete list of disclaimers with each comment, so responsible, intelligent adults must accept that what is not said is not necessarily meant. Your statements concerning what I believe about the U.S. military and God’s wrath are incorrect. I also never claimed that the U.S. was “under” a theocracy.
I also did not “make the case” for policing the world. I “made the case” for national security.
“The sin in the Muslim community is no worse than the apostasy and immorality in the US, or anywhere else for that matter.” The Bible indicates that God does see differences between sins. Some bring a warning, some bring discipline or punishment, some bring death, some have caused entire nations to be uprooted or annihilated. The fact that you claim that all places are the same is an indication of your own spiritual blindness.
I could go on, but looking at several of your posts indicates that it would be a waste. Have a nice day.
- http://www.facebook.com/guy.serwin Guy Christopher Serwin
nice to see you have the omnipotence to discern the level of redress that is necessary, although from your statement it would appear that is the decision of a higher power.
So, whose time would be wasted on discourse with you?
- Anonymous
I hope you chose the term “redress” carelessly, because that word means correcting an injustice, while I’m talking about national security. And the military, given the opportunity, is far more capable of deciding the level of force necessary than I am.
I’d be perfectly happy for Allen West, for example, to make the tactical decisions. I just don’t want to allow a known danger to grow. We’re talking about a sworn enemy, whose doctrine is to destroy us, whose suicidal terrorists prove that they are deadly serious, continuing to increase their ability to carry out their obsession.
It appears to me that those who want to ignore such a threat are displaying suicidal tendencies. Unfortunately, this particular form of suicide involves taking down their entire nation with themselves, and no one has that right.
But I give you permission not to waste any more time on discourse with me. Have a nice day.

I suppose that Judefour is for dismantling Iran’s nuclear program with flowers and sunshine. In Iran exists a regime that meets essentially every parallel with Hitler. They even sided with Hitler in World War II and have openly avowed to finish the work Hitler started. I’ll take the animosity and unintended consequences of intervention over a nuclear missile armed Hitler any day of the week. It must be nice being so well isolated from the real world that you never have to stand for anything except your own moral comfort.

Here’s a comment about Santorum from American Thinker:
“Rick was able to do some big legislation because Newt lead the takeover of the House. Rick is goof, but I would not brag about being part of the Boehner cabal that brought Newt down as Speaker, so Denny Hastert could be handed the job. That is proof of weakness not strength. Newt is surging. Mitt can only talk louder about the conservative things he will do, but has never done before. Now that we are in real states with real conservative voters, we will find out who the people prefer.”
- Anonymous
Uh, Santorum was in the Senate and had nothing to do with the “cabal” that bought down Newt.
- Anonymous
Newt brought down himself.
- Anonymous
Rick is my number 1… he takes it to radical muslims like no one else and I find the content of his platform to be the most balanced and practical among the candidates. His conservative background will remain his foundation after the dust settles with everyone else.
That being said, he needs to present his message with more intensity and passion. He still sounds a bit hesitant.

Dear Rick,
Your body language, when you are attempting to show force, shows you as though you just wet your nice slacks in public. I’m half-Native, and you are the most outright example of an ‘uptight’, complete with ‘pucker factor full-on at rest’ that I have ever seen, and i’ve had the opportunity to see quite a lot.
Your choice of words, that this clip allowed us to see and hear, are becoming coils, from which you will be constrained, just as Obama’s words, of “things I’d do”, are bouncing around, today. You really should go back, and watch how JFK poised and spoke during the Kennedy/Nixon debates. Now there, was someone who understood and knew, how to speak ‘truth to power’.
You are so obsessed with Iran! What about the aforementioned-in previous-debates harbinger of trouble from the triad of Central/South America and Cuba? There have been news reports of Al-Qaeda operatives and officials meeting with folks down there! What about Mr. Putin, and his direct threat to America, that we either re-elect Obama “or else”?
I hate to admit it, but after watching every debate, some twice, when you speak, I, now, hit the ‘mute’ button, or the ‘fast forward’ button, these days, because I am convinced that , “Kid, you don’t have ‘it’!” - Anonymous
Give it a rest. there is no reason for Santorum to get out now any more than any of the other cadidates need to get out now. Do you knuckleheads understand what the purpose of a primary and building a coalition means??? NEwt’s negatives are GLARINGLY apparent and it is not clear that he is the most electable to anyone with any intellectual honesty. Stop with the attacks on wardrobe choices and personal integrity. I am shocked that it seems overnight the Newt maniacs (who BTW were ignoring him last summer) are using Paltron tactics to cannabalize their own side! Stop it you fools.
“I’m willing to lead, but I’m not willing to preside over people who are cannibals Newt Gingrich commenting on his leaving the House of Representatives in 1998.
I hope he has reconsidered his willingness, because it will NOT be easy bringing everyone together. Santorum is the only candidate who was elected time and again in a heavily (conservative/Reagan)democrat state-PA. Newt ran for a House seat twice and lost. He finally won in 1978 by defeating a Democratic state senator named Virginia Shapard, who planned to commute to Washington and keep her family in Georgia. Gingrich’s campaign slogan: “When elected, Newt will keep his family together.”
Here is a very fair article about newt that highlights his strengths and weaknesses. http://blogs.islandpacket.com/40952 At this point, even without the “panache” of Newt, Santorum is clearly the anti-obama candidate across the board.
- Anonymous
I have noticed that the “purity tests” are only whipped out for Santorum, but somehow forgotten for Gingrich. I agree with your assessment, be careful how much you bash a fellow conservative … Newt will need his energy and voters.

“Oh! I’m all for “right to work” for the country, but not in my State of Penssylvania!” Puh-leez! His steel mill union boss was giving him directions! If he had conservative values, as he states, he would have voted FOR that bill, not AGAINST that bill, as he admits he did!
Ol’ Rick is tugging and pushing to expand his envelope, as starting this campaign as a “single issue (family)” person. “Oh, I’m a Christian!” If so, then why has he bee reported as a Catholic? In my youth, when they tried to teach me this blather, they would state that Catholic is responsible to the Pope fiirst, and THEN, your government when you live. But now, hell, I lump ‘all of you’se’, i.e., Protestant and their off-shoots, Catholic and their off-shoots, Mormons, and Jehovahs Witnesses, as ‘Christians’. Oh, and Rick, what was thing about “throwing the first stone”, ol’ buddy? As a politician, have you not lied? As a husband, have you not gazed at another woman, ever? I can’t ask, “As a man…”, because you are still at times, in these most serious debates, a ‘yeah, but, but, but’ child. You can talk tough, sure. You never put on the uniform of this country, but you are damn sure that you could send someone else, to dress the part, and do the job. I guess there is a quote that you might never truly understand, ol’ Rick. It goes like this: “Diplomacy is best served at the tip of a bayonet.”–Napoleon Bonaparte.

We still have a representative republic, last time I checked. At least that’s how it’s supposed to work.

More like bold talk from a sack of s**t.
- Maxsteele
Unfortunately the next president will not be able to make this decision as Iran is already a few months away from developing a nuclear weapon. Iran has already passed the point of no return and the only thing stopping them is their own decision to proceed, they have all the technology and enrichment needed to get the job done.
We already know Obama is a wet noodle so it is solely up to Israel now to take out the Iranians. Of course, the world will condemn them for doing so as they did when they took out the Iraqi and Syrian nuclear facilities because the sanctions are working so well aren’t they. - Anonymous
Does Israel have the capability in terms of bunker busters etc.? Hope so as they are the world’s last and best hope when Obama is still in office.
Saudis will be happy if Israel bombs but will condemn them anyway.
- http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada
I don’t know if Israel has any of the newer bunker busters or not, but dear leader was considering giving some to Qatar. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/149795#.TsP0lcMk67s
This is from last year- I don’t know how much has changed since this article. - Maxsteele
They have them but they have to get the proper fuses. Some how “wink, wink” the bunker busters that Obama first refused to sell to Israel then later agreed had improper fuses so they would explode prematurely before they got to the right depth before detonation. Of course, when Israel was livid about this and informed the administration they claimed it was the manufacturers fault and giving the Israeli’s a discount on the bombs to make up for them having to buy the new fuses. Guess what, the Obama DOD is now suing the company for it but I would guess that they secretly did it themselves to make the bombs ineffective if Israel went ahead. They did not bank on Israel actually being able to perform their own quality assurance on the stuff they purchase.

Ron Paul will not condemn the Israelis if they do, just as he did not when they acted against Iraq in 1981.

Rick,
A carrier group has just entered the Straits today racheting up tensions and at the same time calling Iran’s bluff. There are many brave sailors and Marines on the ships who are in harms way. Think you need to tone the rhetoric down a bit given the situation at hand. I’m all with you that there has to be a resolution to the Iran nukes problem ASAP. The latest sanctions mean bupkus. Well said, BG.

Santorum is tough on Iran. I like that.
- Anonymous
Sorry, but when he says the worst thing about Iran having a nuke is not that they’ll use it but the mere fact that they’ll have it as a sheild, he’s not being tough. He’s validating their reasons for having one.
- Anonymous
Is he going to tell the Saudis that too? I heard they’ve made the decision too, partnering with China. I wonder what the Chinese will have to say about that.
By dithering over Iran, we may have passed a point of no return.
- Anonymous
The Saudis and the Iranians are not on very good terms. If Iran enters in a war against Israel, that would put the Saudis and Jordanians at risk of being showered by nukes too.
- Anonymous
Possibly, although if I were a Saudi I’d be more concerned about Iranian ambition and intentional nukes. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Iranians used that excuse, though – “Oh, so sorry, brother, we didn’t mean to hit Riyadh!”
The Maxim machine gun (first really successful full-auto general-purpose machine gun) was invented because someone advised Maxim, if he wanted to make money, to “invent a new way for people to kill each other”. Now the primeval urge to kill other humans is being raised to the nuclear level and is becoming a popular sport. Lucky us, huh?

Other than that, after Florida, as Obama would say, there are 56 more to go.

That short clip is a good illustration of why Santorum has no chance to gain traction with a lot of voters. The man simply does not know how to articulate an idea in a way that not only makes sense, but shows he’s serious. Listen to him. It’s like he’s forming the idea as he speaks, hears some little voice that tells him to qualify it a little (the Iranians have “mused” about using nuclear weapons against Israel?” Please.) and then just keeps talking in this halting, stuttering monotone as if he was talking about anything.
He’s talking about madmen who have expressed the desire to destroy Western Civilization by any means necessary and yet listen to him. It’s like he’s discussing his tax plan. And doing it badly.

Did this Chicken-Hawk, (who opted not to serve in the armed forces when he was of enlistment age) bother to articulate just where we would procure the neccesarry funds and personnel for such an endeavor? We have much more refining capability than Iran. Why don’t we just out drill, out refine, and out sell these bastards and force the already fed up youth of Iran to overthrow the caliphate once their economic situation becomes untenable? It would seem alot more cost-effective then opening up 3rd front in Southwest Asia.

Campaigning in Florida, Rick Santorum told the voters that as a candidate and president, he will look directly in the camera and tell Iran that in a Santorum administration they will not get a nuclear weapon.
