Something that has been lacking for the most part in past debates is exposing Romney’s continued support for RomneyCare. And Santorum does that quite well here as he casts Romney as untrustworthy. He also goes after Newt’s past position on Health Care, but the RomneyCare portion was most effective in my opinion.

I loved it. Romney got his behind taken down!

Perry put it best (Kimberly, not Rick): You lie like a priceless Persian rug on
    a rich man’s floor.

Well done. Rick could have gone for the trifecta by reminding folks that Ron Paul is to the Left of Obama on foreign policy.

Did Rick has his spine galvanized? WOW!

This was a good strike on Mittens. I like how he faltered when he forgot the question later. This was Romney’s worst debate imo. And not releasing his taxes is a huge mistake for him. Newt nailed it when he said we have to thoroughly vet all candidates before they get the GOP nomination… so we need to see his records. I agree!

Sadly, Santorum probably didn’t help his cause. I wouldn’t be surprised if he finishes fourth now… he deserves better but man, he was so flat tonight!

I feel bad for Rick. The whole night he seemed like he was thinking and maybe rightfully so but thinking “I’m the one who should be surging in the polls. I’m the one who should be the non-Romney, this isn’t fair!”

Rick Santorum did the best so far in strongly delivering the facts about Romneycare, emphasis on a top-down system. Good moment for Santorum.

    I loved this part!

This is why if Romney is the nominee he will lose and if he wins we lose. I don’t not trust him on Obamacare. To be honest I just don’t trust him.

Rick Santorum consistently informed us with details keeping them, and Obama, accountable and not on populist ham moments for applause.

This video is long, and only one part deals with romney care- but it’s a good video all through, and a couple of interesting parts about romney care. But this video shows that mittens would be a bad choice to go against dear leader.

What’s Mittens doing with a chagrin on his face????

    • wodiej

      it’s called arrogance.

Santorum Strikes Back! Great response….draws a clear distinction between himself and the two front runners. Could this be the second state that Santorum wins and takes the lead??

    Go Rick Santorum!

  • wodiej

Yeah, it’s about time someone nailed him on this.

  • Anonymous

Yes, it was long overdue for him to focus on Romneycare, keep pointing out how much Federal taxpayer money has been spent to prop up Romneycare, Obama had to in order to drive through Obamacare. Santorum needs to craft an ad focused solely on Romneycare, use facts to drive the message.

I don’t understand why people still insist on supporting Mittens. He is obama’s twin.

    • Persephone

I can’t believe that Mitt, himself, referred to Masscare as “Romneycare”.

If Perry had done that, it would have been played and re-played as a ‘gaffe’.

  • Anonymous

One of the criticisms I make is to what I refer to as more of a Libertarianish right.

They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues.

That is not how traditional conservatives view the world. There is no such society that I’m aware of, where we’ve had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture.

    - Rick Santorum

This man is dangerous, do not be deceived by him.

    • Amy

Yeah, I have a issue with this type of big gov attitude. That said, they ALL have this attitude so we are left with little choice.

We didn’t get here overnight and it will take longer than one election to get back to where individualism is the norm. So… I will vote for the nominee but I also will not be resting once the general election is over.

      • Anonymous

Well, Ron Paul doesn’t have that attitude, but then the problem with him is that he’s a pacifist who is totally ignorant about the motivation behind Islamic jihadism, and is far too eager to blame America for the existence of evil in the world. I’ll probably end up voting for him though, since the economy is the biggest problem right now, and Islamic jihadism can be dealt with at a later date when we’re economically strong again. I trust him to totally sort out the economic problems.

It disgusts me how we’ve come to a point where these pathetic excuses for Conservatives are our only choices -_-

You know, TheRightScoop, eventually you’ll have to support Romney or you’ll become a tool for the DNC.

Don’t worry, Romney will grow on you, he’ll be like the next Reagan, he’s gonna reverse so many things, he’ll probably be a one-term president, the media (TheRightScoop too?) will work so hard to destroy him.

Rick Santorum is good, but he’s not ready yet. And of course Gringrich is a philanderer. You can’t trust him to teach your teenage daughter, I mean, who knows, he might philander with her. So how can you trust him to be our President?

Cmon GOP, we’re the party of values. We took out Clinton and the Dems on their weak moral character. And now we wanna nominate Gringrich?
