Santorum was asked about Romney’s complaints that he is kidnapping the process in Michigan by reaching out to Democrats in the open primary, and he responded by saying:

Did you ask [Romney] whether when 53% of the people in NH who voted, who were not Republican, was that kidnapping the process? He didn’t seem to complain about it then. That’s what bullies do. When you hit them back, they whine.

Shut up Romey you huge phoney.

Each time I hear his voice. Each time I see his image, I hate him even more. And I know for a fact there are people all over the country that agree with me. This party is not coming together.

      • klaffner

Here is an example of healthy conservative attitude. I see Santorum as over matched. He makes a lot of foolish mistakes. He can’t stop himself from being dragged into silly areas that hurt him over and over. He is immature and inexperienced. But I don’t hate him. I believe he will lose big in the general if nominated, but that belief will not stop me from supporting him or Gingrich or Paul in the general. Do you see how this works?

        • M_J_S

Here is an example of a political illiterate.

Do you homework novice. Romney is a liberal Republican. He has a horrid record in MA, and supports RomneyCare which spawned ObamaCare. Period. There is no dispute.

The base of the GOP WILL NOT support any RINO nominee in this election season. We’ve already had to hold our noses through this in the past election, and for Dole. We’re not coming out again for this.

Romney’s money and organization evaporates should he be the nominee against Obama, but the problem with the base goes on.

Romney will tell you and me and anyone else whatever they want to hear to get elected. That’s called the worst kind of political hack there is and that why the GOP is in the sorry state it is.

Keep voting for losers, but count me out. If the GOP cannot nominate a Conservative in this election, at this time, they deserve to lose.

The Catholic Church has never been a reliable ally of conservatism. They lean towards weird collectivist ideas and unions, which is why most of them end up voting lib and why the “conservative” ones vote for loser moderates. The faithful ones think it’s inline with their Catholic values.

        • keyesforpres

Levin loved Romney in 08. It turns out the open primary proved out that while Santorum got a lot of fake dem votes via the DailyKos/Santorum partnership scam, Romney actually got 17% of the Dem vote. Those votes for Romney were real Dems who are voting for the candidate and will return in November. Santorum dem votes were fake voters (i.e. are going to vote for Obama in Nov for sure) who were only trying to block Romney via a campaign meddling tactic by liberal interest groups.

  • Nukeman60

Do you notice that when Mitt is speaking as himself, he speaks fluently? When he’s at a debate, or at a speech, he appears to stutter. It’s not a stutter. He’s just mulling over the list of talking points as he speaks, says his point, and then checks it off the list. Very telling.

I also kind of like the idea of reaching out to Democrats in November. They aren’t all liberals. I suspect that Santorum will appeal more to those old Reagan Democrats than any other candidate.

    • keyesforpres

Heck, we want the liberals one too! If we can get some liberals voting for us then we can definitely get Obama out.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ricardo-Galvan/100001729378103 Ricardo Galvan

There’s no such thing. Reagan Democrats are the “RINOs” of the Republican party. The unions and the government need to be weakened, not encouraged with weakling leaders.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Randall-Pickard/100003011397298 Randall Pickard

I posted this over at C4P, but it is worth posting here. There is a great article over at American Spectator about “Reagan’s Crossover Democrats” that kept his primary campaign alive against Gerald Ford in 1976.

Reagan lost 8 of the first 9 primaries to Ford, and then – in Texas – Reagan won 66% to 33%, due in large part to Texas Democrats crossing over to vote for Reagan. The point is made that if Reagan had not been as successful as he was in 1976 against Ford, there would have been no 1980 campaign.

    The article concludes with this:

UPDATE: Acclaimed Reagan campaign biographer (and good friend of The American Spectator) Craig Shirley sends this message: “The crossover vote kept Reagan in the race quite simply. From the time of his announcement in November of 1975 to his closing remarks in KC after losing the nomination, Reagan made continuous appeals to Democratic voters. The Ford campaign (and later the Bush campaign) bitched about it but Reagan Democrats kept Reagan in the race in 1976and help him win the nomination in 1980.”

Romney is acting like a spoiled rotten brat! I am a true Conservative and I voted for Santorum today here in the Michigan Primary. Romney sounds like the perfect Conservative now that it’s time to be elected. He has claimed to be a ‘Progressive’ a ‘Moderate’ and now that the time is right a ‘Conservative’. I’m sorry; this guy is the ultimate flip flopper, where does he really stand? I don’t buy his BS.

    • Asian_chic

Just curious, were there a lot people voting? Would you happen to know what’s the mood like for those voters? By the way, you voted the right way!

      • PFFV

I voted at noon and was shocked to find out I was only the 48th person to come and vote. I live downriver south of Detroit about 20 miles in a pretty populated middle class area. I saw one person leaving and one coming while I was there. A very low turnout I’m sure.

Thanks, I felt Santorum was the guy to vote for to knock Mittens back a peg, especially since Newt wasn’t going to get the 15% of the vote necessary to get delegates.

    • Sober_Thinking

      Good for you PFFV! :)

      • Rshill7

I was voter # 14 this morning in Michigan. I voted for Santorum, cuz I’m for Newt. My wife and daughter voted for Newt cuz they’re for Newt too. My sonny boy voted for Ron Paul. I know. The tree doesn’t fall far from the apple does it? :-)

        Timber!

        • Asian_chic

Did you have any other offspring who voted for Mitten? That would cancel all the votes leaving +1 for Newt. lol

          • Rshill7

Oh yeah, she voted for Newt too. She said. “I like Newt Gingrich, that’s who I’m voting for.” It is also -6 for Romney, +4 for Newt and plus one for Santorum. Right? He missed all four of us, as well as my father-in-law and his wife, who’s also an asian chic :-)

Mitt Romney is showing his true colours slowly and surely. The facade is starting to crack and what we are beginning to see is a man with little to no testosterone or cajones. Exactly what Santorum said, when you stand up to the bully and expose him for what he is he starts to whine and snivel.
Now the GOP old men are talking about begging other candidates to jump into the race if Santorum wins in Michigan or Arizona. You have Mccain talking about how the current GOP race is like a greek tragedy. Are you kidding me. Mccain has zero credibility to be talking about a tragedy, his 2008 campaign was tragic in every way possible.
If any of the GOP young guns bow to pressure by the old men and join this race then they will show they are as corrupt and unethical as they are.
Santorum for President and Gingrich for VP!!!

  • Sober_Thinking

Excellent come back. You could argue that Rick is trying to unite Americans again and that the GOP nominee will have to go back to Michigan and try to win demoncrats in the November election… so what’s the big deal? Romney’s mad because he didn’t think of it first. It’s not like Santorum went out and used an old Romney pro-Santorum robocall from years gone by, out of context, against him. Put your big boy pants on mittens. Sheesh!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Valdez/1806887704 Steven Valdez

Groups supporting Mitt Romney have turned character assassination almost into a science. You take something that most people, outside of politics, do not understand and twist it to sound terrible to those who are unaware of the facts.

Blanketing Florida with misleading ads attacking Newt Gingrich won that state for Romney, after Gingrich scored an upset victory in South Carolina. The ads made a big deal out of charges that the former Speaker broke tax laws — charges that the Internal Revenue Service exonerated him of, after a long investigation.

When Rick Santorum suddenly surged after his upset victories in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado, the Romney character assassination machine attacked him for having voted in the Senate for various things that conservatives don’t like.

But, when it comes to voting in Congress, seldom do you get a pure bill that you can agree with in all its parts. If you never voted for bills containing anything you didn’t like, you might get very little voting done.

But, if it is a bill to provide American soldiers with the equipment they need to fight a war, and somebody has put into it an earmark for a federal boondoggle in his district, are you going to vote against that bill and let American soldiers go into battle without all the equipment and supplies they need?

Taking advantage of the public’s lack of knowledge is something that Barack Obama already does very effectively in his political propaganda. But is that something the Republicans want to imitate? http://townhall.com/columnists/thomassowell/2012/02/28/pettiness_and_mud/page/full/

When you’re a liberal these are the tactics you use. Obamney learned a lot from his liberal friends in MA.

  • NHConservative0221

What a gutless piece of garbage Mittens is. He’ll do every dirty trick in the book against real conservatives but won’t even call Maobama a socialist.

Tells you all you need to know!

  • stage9

    LOL! Rick rocks!

  • marketcomp

Rick has a gift for staying true to his values and using the candidates own words and inconsistancies has he did with Mitt in these Robocalls. What Rick said in the robocalls was absolutely true and that is the problem, that the call are true. Rick has not said anything differently than what he says all the time. However, on the other hand Mitt Romney will lie and dodge and weave on all issues, except Romneycare, and he even lies about candidates positions and voting records like he did with Newt and Rick.

I don’t know if Mitt will loose in Michigan but he sure is acting like a loser and I am not sure why. He has all of the support of the RINO republicans so Mitt whats the problem?

  • wodiej

guess that mugging for Democrat votes backfired on Santorum. Stupid thing to do especially for someone who claims to be the most conservative.

  • mder4thegov

Romney even behaves like a democrat.
He wants to complain/whine–when he acts 10 times worse with negative campaign ads. This is what libs do…remember Obama, during the ’08 campaign, complaining he’d be up 2-3 more % points in the polls–if weren’t for Fox News. He totally thought he could get that by people (I’m sure he did convince the uniformed, who tend to vote democrat)…even though 90% of the media was running cover for the guy, and refused to vet him.
Romney really is another Obama. Note: I actually liked Romney in ’08, and think he totally got screwed in Florida…however, this a different Romney,–IMO, he’s been corrupted, beyond repair. Unfortunately, that’s what the republican Establishment wants, business as usual.
    Wake up, America.

  • http://twitter.com/Bobbie227 Bobbie
