Sarah Palin responds to Tea Party extremists and Family Guy

Palin counters Bill several times quite well on this “tea party extremist” crap, but my favorite was when she said that we shouldn’t take away their first amendment rights. That was awesome.

And the rest is history………..

Now I askyou sincerely…would Marshall Wyatt Earp be considered an extremist today…would any musket wielding minuteman defending his PRIVATE PROPERTY be an extremist…

  • Matt

Rush Limbaugh was right! – Everyone in the media would “twist” the truth by taking his words out of context regarding the “R” word (not even a week after he said it). Rush Limbaugh specifically stated on his show that week that he was using the “R” word in a satirical tone.

I'm glad to hear Palin defended him on that issue.

  • Michael

Sure seems like someone took the 'kinda' conservative/republican tilt out of ole Bill.
Watching this interview, one could imagine him comfortable working for the NYT.
Maybe after W he lost the stomach for the party, I can totally understand that.

  • Tyler

Personally, I'm just gonna have to say that PART of the reason why our country is so soft is because people like HER…and so many others get BUTT-HURT over WORDS. Words ONLY have power…if YOU GIVE THEM POWER. Dee-dee-dee…or as Beck likes to say…”Got it?”

I'm glad McFarlane ISN'T fundamentally weak with criticism and can SHRUG IT OFF. Otherwise, one of my favorite shows would become “screened for good taste,” which has NEVER been something the show's had…and I LIKE IT that way.

It's NO WONDER that nobody in Washington has the spine to call things like it is. AMERICANS don't have the spine to call things like it is either. If someone's retarded…then…they're STILL gonna be retarded even if you don't say it. If someone's LYING…then…they're STILL a liar even if nobody says it. “Got it?”

  • chambodia

I'm glad Sarah stuck up for Rush. I heard that show, and Rush was pointedly calling out Rahm for his crude/offensive words. He also said that the media would twist it around (like they always do – see every quote they take out of context to make him seem racist) to be about Rush saying it himself instead of him quoting Rahm. Now the media is calling her a hypocrite when the two examples are diametrically opposed.

Palin's speech and campaigning for Perry. She is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
    Fail.Neocon.
Debra Medina is the real American.

At 2:09 into Part 1, O'reilly questioned, You don't believe in the birther thing, do you?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDKSbJ6OOHQ

O'reily: There is no doubt that the New York Times wants to brand the tea part as a bunch of extremist loons… But there is danger, if some tea party people play into that… if they do say we're getting our guns and we're gonna overthrow, and Obama is this and Obama is that… and he isn't born here… I mean there was a 'birther' thing going on at the convention… You don't believe in the birther thing, do you?

Palin: No… no in those wild conspiracy theories about our own government um… I think shouldn't have a part of the dialogue of the debate. What the debate needs to be about is the good ideas, the foundational principles that built this country into the most prosperous and healthies and most voluntarily generous nation on Earth, safest place too. We need to get back to…

O'reily: But I am unclear, I am unclear… do you think that the birther people should have a place at the Tea Party table, do you think that they should have a place there?

Palin: There is always going to be an element of those who want to be a part of a movement who have their own ideas of where the country should go, or what is going on with the country…

O'reilly: Then what do you do with those people, do you accept them and embrace them?

Palin: Well one, you don't take away their first amendment… you don't take away their first ammendment rights and we say you cannot speak about those things or ask those questions that you want answers to… that is part of democracy at work… is those debates…

O'reilly: But do you see the danger that if that becomes the headline then the mainstream American who isn't really following it that closely?

Palin: I see the danger of more of the same of the main stream media wanting to paint tea partiers as radical whacko conspiracy theorists and if we allow that to happen then no… this grassroots movement of the people wanting their voice to be heard because there is such a disconnect between what is going on in Washington and the people that Washington is supposed to be serving.

Illustrating Palin's absurdity through her own double speak…

O'reilly: You don't believe in the birther thing, do you?

Palin: Palin: No… no in those wild conspiracy theories about our own government um… I think shouldn't have a part of the dialogue of the debate.

So 'birthers' seeking to support the Constitution of the United States of America against a domestic enemy by questioning with boldness whether Obama would be a “natural born citizen” who would be eligible to serve as POTUS and CIC of America's Armed Forces are fomenting wild conspiracy theories, which shouldn't have a part of the dialogue of the debate?

Then Palin contradicts herself, in the following statement:

Palin: What the debate needs to be about is the good ideas, the foundational principles that built this country into the most prosperous and healthiest and most voluntarily generous nation on Earth, safest place too.

Where one of those foundational principles which was codified in the Constitution of the United States of America at Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 was the following qualification for the Office of the President:

No person except a natural born Citizen … shall be eligible to the Office of President.

Tyler, I'm pressed. Your posts are getting smaller. LOL!

  • jimbounds

When Sarah Palin is attacked like this by family guy. Maybe he has the right to but shoud'nt I have the right to jack him up with lead filled baseball bat. 2 or 3 minutes later he would speak like a retard for the rest of his life!!!! If he thinks
he is real tough guy, they allways do before but not after. Sandman knows when
    it's sleepy time…

  • Pwnt

It's funny watching Fox struggle with how to react to the Family Guy bit. With over 7 million viewers this past season, I don't think Palin will be asking for Family Guy to be taken off the air. Not if she wants to keep her new job!

Speaking as someone with Downs, I wasn't offended by the Family Guy episode. I didn't think it was very funny though. Except the end when the guy blows up and Peter's all like, “I'm not a psychic.”

  • Tyler

    I'm sorry. WHAT?

  • Tyler

Well…ya know…sometimes there's a lot to say about a topic and then there are times when you agree with at least most of what is said and can only say “Right on,” or just ignore it acknowledging that it's correct.

Palin having her poor wittle feewings hurt over a joke because it's personal is the only thing I felt the need to chime in on because it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that she's trying to set herself up to be the next leader of the free world and…well…her being fundamentally weak when it comes to real criticism (even if it isn't in good taste) shows that she's too weak to be in a real leadership position. We need people who can TRULY SHRUG IT OFF and drive on with what's right no matter what roadblocks they face.

By the way…I don't plan to post 76 different comments again over any given topic like I did with the “let's condemn anyone who has thoughts different than the majority” BS.

  • vsess12

It's amazing how some people will defend Sarah Palin even when they know she is wrong. You can't criticize Family Guy and not criticize Rush. They were using “retard” in a more similar manner than Rahm Emanuel and Rush/Family Guy.
I can't believe people take her seriously. Are republicans that desperate for a leader that they will accept anyone to lead them.

  • Tyler

All goes back to the “only if you let them have power” thing as far as I look at it. Not a single person or a single object or a single group or entity has any power over another unless the other gives them that power.

Palin caved in giving McFarlane power over her because her feelings were hurt by his making fun of her kid.

It's like back in grade school. There's a bully who keeps on calling you names and makin fun of you verbally in an attempt to make you cry. If you CRY…it FUELS his behavior. If you act like it DOESN'T MATTER…then the bully MOVES ON.

  • Tyler

They don't want REAL Americans to win this thing. It's all a game and that's all they'll ever play.

The only real thing now is that the only people who are “acceptable” since “birthers” and “truthers” are just “crazy loons…” also have the potential to be BETTER liars. Let's face it. The Progressives have to step up their game.

Now…they have to go back underground and ACT like they're “one of the good ol' boys” and say or do whatever they have to do to get themselves back in. Which is why I say the R&D machine is a false and absurd bunch of garbage.

  • Tyler

I'm tellin you man. Libertarians parted ways from the Republicans BECAUSE they Republicans weren't conservative enough. Constitutionalists believe in standing behind the Constitution 100%. So…based on what Republicans are talking about today…FINALLY…wouldn't it seem more logical for those who are SERIOUS conservatives to just LEAVE the R in the dust and JOIN THE Ls and Cs? That's just me though I suppose.

I'd say follow the models of Gandhi and MLK and continue using passive resistance. On other words, reject the system…stop perpetuating it…and LEAD instead of FOLLOW.

  • mike morrison

It's ok for Palin to encourage 1st ammendment rights, but when Debra Medina does it Glenn Beck calls her crazy. Hypocrisy much? And I am NOT a 911 Truther in any way shape or form…

  • mdblanchard

The Family Guy episode wasn't funny. End of story. Are there people who did and will laugh @ that… yes. Will it NEVER happen again because it was so distasteful and mean…no. It will happen every day in every corner of the globe in all languages. People can be completely insensitive. Do we stop their speech here in America ..no. Do you change the channel, boycott call them out, most certainly. The thing about a personal television is that you get to choose what you want to be entertained with.
In regard to TP loons…again, freedom of speech/thought and that should be defended by all Americans no matter your affiliation. People, pull up your panties and fight the good fight! Call me a loon if you wish. Our Founding Fathers now there's a bunch of gun toting, ammunition hoarding, free speech spouting loons! Go FF's! How many today would have the fortitude to sacrifice all they did? Not many I am afraid and that is what keeps me awake @ night. If anyone is interested I will go first if the rest of you will keep fighting!

I agree. Palin was saying the same thing as Medina; good for Palin, I agree with her. Medina was set-up and ambushed by Beck who is a wolf in sheep clothings and certainly not a friend of the tea party movement. What a hypocrite.

  • therightscoop

Please stay on the topic of the post. This clip has nothing to do with Becks interview with medina.
