I heard Chris' wife memorial to him was an incredible, passionate tribute, that barely left a dry eye. Including her.
At one point when she briefly lost her composure the Marine standing next to her, gave his glove to her to use as a tissue.
That display cracks my heart, and his care of her... it encapsulates honor and commitment.
This is a little off topic, but it relates to what we all feel about a Patriot's death, and the unwillingness of this President, and this Administration, and the Governor of the Great State of Texas, not to lower the flags in respect for this man's service to his country.
It makes me sick, because we used to be better than this, both as a country and as a people. We are one step away from becoming a Socialist nation. The next step after Socialism is Communism. Read your History.
We have stopped honoring the brave among us who gave their lives to make sure we remain a free nation. It is a turning point in our History. We have become so politically correct that our Christian principles and the principles of Freedom, that so many died for, don't seem to matter anymore.
It's too easy to blame it on a street organizer from Chicago. While he may be the physical representation of what is wrong, you have to remember he only applied for the job. We hired him. Not once, but twice.
No, something is wrong with America, not with our leaders. The leaders are just actors in the play. What is wrong with America, is what is wrong with us. We allowed this to happen. If it is going to be fixed and set right again, it won't be because of our leaders. It will be because of us.
It will be because we finally reached a point where we stopped watching Hollywood movies and started paying attention again, to the things that are really important.
Because we even started going to church again. Dumb idea, I know.

There is a good poem that addresses this; it's called "God Our Refuge" by Richard Chevenix Trench. I encourage everyone to impress upon their children, who may have to live through more of this than we do, to know God and cling to Him and His promises and BE what men and women were created to be--till the end. What a dumbo! It is not Sarah Palin's decision as to whether or not the flags are flown at half mast or not. Even as a half term Goveror, she should be able to figure that one out! No class at all--so many people worked with Kyle on Stars Earn Stripes and Sarah makes a big announcement about how she and tomcat are coming--am sure that Dean Cain will also be there and won't try to draw all the attention his way. Wouldn't be surprised that Sarah also brings along her personal photographer (family member) and charges $1000 per picture for anyone who wants to get their picture taken with her. Someone should clue this nitwit into funeral manners--it isn't all about the Palins; classy people come but don't tip off the media or make demands of the President; and if a person doesn't want to have their homes robbed or have problems with a stalker, they don't broadcast their every move. Can see why FOX News got tired of her showboating.
You just have to love Trolls. I mean, there's just nothing like them out there.
What do we get? Maybe four or five a week? Maybe two good ones in that mix?
They all barge in here like they just found out about The Right Scoop ten minutes ago, and proceed to unload all their pent-up vitriol against Conservatives in one single comment. No introduction. No explanation of where they came from, or how they found the site. They're just angry and they want everyone to know it.
If I were The Right Scoop, I would use Trolls as a measure of how Scoop is expanding, and reaching wider audiences and more people who think this country and it's principles are worth saving. The more Trolls, the wider our audience. It's that simple.
It's a barometer.
As for what you do with them when they come here, as far as I am concerned, they're fair game. You can ignore them, or you can fun with them. Depending on my mood, I do both. Personally, I rate them on a scale of one to ten. This one's about a three, and I'm being generous, believe me.
The electronic wonder we call the Internet, allows total brain-dead idiots to make outrageous statements, that they would not make in front of you. It gives you an idea of what they would be like, if you met them in person.
In any case, Trolls are part of the landscape. Enjoy them, hate them, ignore them. At different times, I do all of the above.
But I do love the way the Moderators on this site let them run for awhile. Long enough to give us a little fun, at least. I live in Tucson, so I compare it to the rodeo. How long can the buckaroo stay on that really mean horse? The rodeo is great entertainment. So are Trolls.
Someday, I am going to write a book about Trolls. I will be sure to include all the funniest exchanges that occurred here on Scoop. I'll send an autographed copy to Sarah. I'm sure she'll enjoy it.

Speaking of funeral manners, let's take a look at another recent example. Wasn't it Obama and Hillary who said that Ambassador Chris Stevens was their "close friend" as they stood next to his casket and the caskets of the three other Americans murdered in Benghazi and lied through their teeth about "a video"? Is that what you mean by "proper funeral manners"?

There were petitions circulating to get flags lowered to half staff. Both to Gov Perry and to the White House. I think she was just trying to help that petition drive. And also to remind people that Obama gave no shout out to this fallen soldier. Not so much as a lowered flag.
Chris Kyle was Todd and Sarah's friend. They had every right and obligation to be there.

Called Rick Perry's office and they stated the code does not permit lowering for non-active duty service members. I asked that he isue an Executive Order because if ever there were a reason, this would be it. His office # is (512) 463-2000.
For what it's worth; I struggle to come up with words that describe how this women affect my soul, mind and spirit. We have the five senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell that help reinforce our sense of reality. For me, Sarah is that six senses that support my soul, mind and spirit. Her ability to trigger a preconscious memory or feeling that was not an immediate awareness, but that can be recalled through conscious effort, is something that I have never experienced before by anyone. How right she is in saying that "You Don't need a Title to Make a Difference."
I might venture to say that it is primal. The stirrings of the soul of a freeman.
Feelings pushed further back into our minds by decades of mind numbing pseudo intellectual propaganda and social engineering.

Yes. None of this is essentially complex so why does nothing make sense? Why are the fundamentals of a Republic obscured, as politics get exponentially more complex and harder to understand?
For me it helps to start with the assumption of our Founders - all government evolves to tyranny and absolute power. No Party is immune or above it. In that context, it started to make sense.

The liberals in Congress named one of the new Littoral Combat Ships the USS Gabriel Giffords, for the congresswoman who was wounded (but not killed) in Arizona. All that woman really did was get shot, not that she was a great national figure. You will NOT see even a tugboat named after Chris Kyle, which is a disgrace. Just shows you where Congress' priorities are. Disgusting.
Why doesn't this surprise me! Sarah Palin honours the Armed Forces not just in words, in a nice speech, but in deeds.

This should be Our President. This is a True Constitutional Conservative. Not everything I am going to agree with and she is not perfect as no human is. But this woman and her family Love this Country. They are thankful we have it, they are on their knees deep in their Faith to our Lord and Savior. He leads their life.
This is Presidential, and Rick Perry the Governor could lower those flags in Texas and I find it shameful. In Michigan when we lose one of our own the flags are lowered to half mast, for 24 or 48 hours I believe. I always know when we lose one of our own.

I called Perry's office. Apparently the flag code only includes active duty. Well, I asked for him to issue an EO!
Well I was coming To Apologize to you and all those in Texas. Because I called also and found out that ours is for Active Duty, and I also said Use an Executive Order, the Governor of the State can lower it for anyone from what I understand. But if it is written in the Law of your state, than that is how it is. Also Governor Perry, did make a Fantastic Statement today.

No need to apologize at all. Many states have the same. It's sad when Whitney Houston receives flags lowered but not an American hero who served his country.
