Sarah Palin’s University of Denver Speech – UPDATE: Palin, Prager, and Hewitt Panel Discussion added

Sarah Palin gave a great speech tonight, focusing on the topics of what she would say to President Obama if she were given the chance. She focused on an array of issues, including immigration and health care, also paying homage to Ronald Wilson Reagan as her hero. I must say that I think this is one of my favorite speeches by her.  She also coined a new phrase tonight: “I can see November from my house!”

Also note that I will be posting the panel with Palin, Prager, and Hewitt that came directly after her speech. Please check back for that later.

Watch below:

UPDATE: Sarah Palin took part in a panel discussion right after her speech. It’s a good opportunity to see Sarah, as well as Hew Hewitt and Dennis Prager taking a few questions in a not so formal manner.

Wow what a wakeup call that is on a Sunday morning, thought Sarah's speech was excellent as was the question and answer session, but what really got my attention was Dennis Prager's answer to the first question presented to him, electrifying!

I was there! She was fantastic! The whole night was electric! WE had Colorado Republican State Assembly all day Saturday, and then topped it off with Dennis, Hugh, and SARAH!! WHAT A DAY!

AMERICA IS STATING DOWN THE PATH TO RECLAMATION!!!

“I can see November from my house!”

Just like she could see Tim Burns winning over Arlen Specter (cue that Fox News May 18th interview with Sean Hannity, the one where Palin was wearing her nightie), and how she forsaw Tim Burns winning that primary (Mark Critz won).

Hey Karen … Maybe you could similarly fact check Obama (or is it his teleprompter) … you know, you could remind him how to pronounce “emancipation” and that Europe isn't a country. But thanks for stopping by to enlighten us plebes about Sarah's errors. Thank goodness she never promised to be a God-like healer of the planet with the power to roll back the ocean tides and bring peace to a war-weary world.

Mr.Prager hit the nail squarely on the head as to what has lead our country to the precipice on which we now find ourselves. The fact is we as Americans have been lax in passing on what being an American is all about. I was fortunate to have a Father who learned it from his Father and passed it on to me, now it falls to me to pass it on to my son. We cannot rely on our schools or educators to do it for us, because it is our duty to pass the knowledge and the light that goes with it to our children so that they too may one day do the same.

  • Uffda

Burns won his primary. He lost the special election.

Original poster (KarenJ) does not appear to be particularly well informed, but as for malapropisms and mispronunciations, do you really want to play this game?

In the 15 seconds between 14:40 and 14:55 Palin mispronounces both Chavez and “Tepid” (into which she adds the letter “m”). Back in the election cycle she stridently defended a misinterpretation of what she claimed to be John McCain's “verbiage” – which, look it up, doesn't mean what she thinks it means. Like 2 weeks ago she referred to our “unalienable” rights. And, by all accounts, at the beginning of the election cycle she legitimately thought that Africa was a country and didn't know why North Korea and South Korea had been separated (and if you discredit this, then you can discredit Harry Reid's “negro dialect” comment, since they come out of the same book). During the vice presidential debate she called Senator Biden “Senator O'Biden” (which is why she wanted to call him “Joe” in the first place).

The president, like everyone, occasionally misspeaks, and given his pretty extensive travel through Europe I think it's safe to say that he knows that the place isn't one big country. Palin misspeaks just like everyone else, and it doesn't necessarily impinge on her ability to govern effectively, but if you want to put the two head-to-head in terms of apparent command of facts and the English language, you are going to fight a losing battle.

And all of this junk about the teleprompter, jeez, they're both reading prepared speeches. You notice how Palin looks down every few seconds at her lectern? People use teleprompters to avoid having to do that.

When Sarah Palin agrees to be interviewed by Rachel Maddow or someone similarly hostile ideologically, then I will start paying attention. As of right now all she does is preach to her choir, which doesn't tell us much that we didn't already know.

    Smooth…

Palin is so smooth in her continuity of thought… very, very few uhs, ums or other thought gathering non-words.

Do you really want to play the “…malapropisms and mispronunciations…” game, Danny?

    A friendly suggestion…

Since Nicole posted here over 8 hours ago, she probably is not aware of your “touche” comment, so you might want to visit Nicole Coulter on Conservatives4Congress.com and challenge her there.

I would LOVE to see the “point-counter-point” between you and Nicole.

If you are not familiar with Nicole's humorous and pertinent commentary, you can also read her commentary on Conservatives 4 Palin.

However, trolls without depth and substance do not last very long on Conservatives 4 Palin or Conservatives 4 Congress, so maybe you should go to Conservatives 4 Congress or Conservatives 4 Palin and let Nicole know that you offered her a “touche” challenge on The Right Scoop so she can return here and touch verbal swords with you.

    “TOUCHE”

Just a helpful suggestion, my fellow American.

Fantastic video of the panel discussion, thanks so much for posting. Sarah is brilliant!

If she responds to me again, I'm happy to continue the debate on the merits. Not sure where you got the idea that I was a troll, since I post here pretty regularly, or that I lack depth and substance, as I'm pretty sure all my facts can be verified.

Do you love your freedom? Thank a Vet? When was the last time this country fought a war for Liberty? Try 1861-65. And the bad guys won that one.

    Someone needs a history lesson.

And for the record, I'm a veteran.

The question is not: “Do you love your freedom?”

The question is: “Do you realize the price that will be required to restore Liberty to this land?”

    Don't understand? Start here:

Let's not elect another charismatic who tells us what we want to hear.

Let's elect someone with backbone who will do and say what must be done and said, with an emphasis on doing.

“Democracy?” Well she just lost me.

Let's try this on for size:

    “Democracy, n.:
    - A government of the masses.
    - Authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of
    direct expression.
    - Results in mobocracy.
    - Attitude toward property is communistic… negating property rights.
    - Attitude toward law is that the will of the majority shall regulate,
whether it is based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice,
and impulse, without restraint or regard to consequences.
    - Result is demagogism, license, agitation, discontent, [chaos].”
    – U. S. Army Training Manual No. 2000-25
    (1928-1932)
Source: published by the US War Department, Washington, D.C., November 30, 1928

“The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government…” – Article IV, Section 4, U.S. Constitution

The word 'democracy' is not in the U.S. Constitution. It is however, in the Communist Manifesto: “Establishing democracy is the first step in the revolution.” – Karl Marx

Palin is even more clueless than I feared.

    And fences work both ways…

Get over her speech imperfections….. listen to the messages. (You can forgive Obama's, Bush's, Reagan's.) YOUR future, your kids' futures, are at stake! Rise above the cute baloney. Observe what is going on! Decide what YOU want for our country.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=715062468 Holly L Carlson

I think you're too hung up on her use of the word “democracy” . . . most of the country doesn't really know we aren't a democracy. They may wish we were…. but as they watch happenings in Greece, perhaps they'll wise up.

Good guys lost? Yes, so how exactly are you saying you would have it? You like racism and division?

If you're a vet, thank you, wholeheartedly, for your service. I only hope you know what you helped protect and defend.

Seriously when will she, and the rest of the Tea Party/Conservatives, be honest about the Reagen presidency? He is NOT the ideal idol for the values she espouses! He blew up the deficit and was responsible for one of the most massive expansions of the Federal Government! Not to mention embarrassing us with the whole IRAN/Contra affair. How is this in line with Constitutional Conservative or Tea Party principles?

  • http://twitter.com/EmeraldKnight76 Daniel Cooper

Palin will always be seen as a fraud and loud but empty voice railing at the “lamestream” media she is too much a coward to face. She won't even take questions from a friendly audience that haven't been pre-screened and pre-approved. It's cowardly to lob criticisms from a safe distance knowing you're never in danger of being challenged and be forced to respond. If she really were principled and believed and stood by her values she should be able to defend and articulate those in an interview no matter who is conducting it and no matter which network it is on. She'll stay on Fox though because they will never challenge her. She is a fraud and knows it. It's a shame as she is such a dynamic personality with a huge following and could really do great things with it.

    Ron Paul for starters.

It means nothing to 'challenge' the Marxist mutt with empty platitudes and blind patriotism.
