Senator Tim Scott was on with Greta tonight to discuss the NAACP accusing him of not believing in civil rights. If Greta hadn’t continued to press him on the issue, his only response would have been that the accusations are ‘ridiculous’. Short, sweet, and exactly right.

He also talks about his first day as a Senator.

We're talking about the "National Association for the Advancement of Demokkkrat Colored People". The NAADCP. The word that's irrelevant is "Colored". This racist group is all about demokkkrats.

Obama does not believe in civil rights. He did nothing for civil rights in his first term. His tactics has been to divide the country on racial lines.

Just like Allen West.

If you're not lockstep or lockspeak with the Left's agenda then you are the declared enemy, and you will be Palinized.

Are they ashamed that an African American Senator is a conservative. Keep telling them Sen. Scott, you will remain a conservative. They need to be afraid of you, together with Obama. We haven't heard his opinion yet and probably won't. You are a brave man, and please keep your conservatism alive. We need more African Americans like you and Herman Cain as our representatives. Too bad Allen West was defeated, he is great as well.

Which begs the question: How "black" is black enough?

Apparently, Herman Cain wasn't black enough. Or Thomas Sowell. Or Walter Williams. Or Allan West.........

ONLY the SOCIALISTS attack American success and maintaining the American ideal.

They can only succeed by compartmentalization of Americans into groups they can attack and turn to anti America.

Soviets played one group against another,Nazis too.

Just watch and translate old Soviet,Nazi propaganda...you will see the same signs and hear the same rhetoric....that the Socialists and the Premier use..."forewarned is forearmed."

The NAACP is the most racist organization in the world.

They should all be prosecuted for hate crimes and sent to Gulags.

ARRRGGGHHH-

Good one.

Have seriously wondered why the right hasn't found a way to put an unction on rich conservatives, individuals or as a group, to step up and invest in social justice of a new kind...

Massive education campaigns for a host of things: sexual abstinence (outside of marriage), ideals of Promise Keepers (remember The Thousand Man March? what happened to that?), after-school mentoring, volunteerism, corporations helping small business, married couples helping single parents, growth and support of philanthropic organizations...

Perhaps a TV network all about corporate sponsors of charity to show what is being done, spawning interest in new efforts...

This as I understand was how the 19th-century wealthiest brought this country to greatness--using their own money to develop industries, and as they accumulated wealth, in turn investing dramatically in social betterment, with results of a truly greater society.

Am I wrong?

Been Jealous long Mr. Jealous? He's simply upset because strong, intelligent, individual black people are leaving them and embracing conservative values.

The NAACP is irrelevent and absolutely worthless. If you don't get on their plantation, then you are "racist" and whatever other juvenile label they can place on you. The NAACP is racist and worthless. They are a big part of the problem.

Well said Tim Scott.

Besides, Sober_Thinking would you think that having unemployment at 14% among Black Americans a civil right or a civil wrong? What Barack Obama has done to the Black community is a kin to economic sabatoge but the useful idiots like Jealous applaud that. Sen. Scott was a business owner and he most definitely understands employment and private industry better than people like Jealous and Obama who have never worked in private industry. Besides I love how Seator Scott just completely ignores Jealous stupid premise and refuses to get in the gutter with these people.

Correct! And black teen unemployment at 39.3%. Funny how on another thread Joe Biden is promising sweeping gun control in January 2013 because black teens have guns. Well Joe, how are they getting them underage and while unemployed?

To progressive Democrats, like those who run the NAACP, they have a phrase used to describe black conservatives like Senator Tim Scott; Uncle Tom albeit they don't state it public. The NAACP doesn't represent African Americans. They use them, keep them dependent on their leftist masters while destroying their families, keep them living in the ghettos with high unemployment, bad schools and a very high death rate of young blacks. That's today's NAACP.

The NAACP in more way's than one can count have proven they are a group of black communist buzzards feeding on America's goodness, wealth, and power.

I think a gentleman from S.C. back in the 1990's, said it best when he called the NAACP, the national party of ignorant people. It's clear the (naacp) thinks Americans are to ignorant to figure out their communist agenda? OK I digress, on that point, maybe they're half right.

It does that. Some call it Dis-SUCKS! and sometimes it really does. Hope it's fixed for you now. Sometimes, when it stops letting me click like or even comment, I reset my modem/internet connection, and it fixes it, other times the "fix" doesn't work, but you could try it next time and see if it works for you. If you hadn't already tried that of course. Good luck.

It's not a fantasy world it's just a world cut off to many blacks by liberal Democrat policies. Who destroyed the black family and community with welfare which enabled liberals to herd them into tenements. Who runs the schools that don't even teach black children to read? What Tim Scott represents is the ability to escape from the Democrat plantation and go into the real world of opportunity.

Libertyship46

There is nothing, absolutely NOTHING, that liberals hate more than a conservative black man. Just look at the scorn some real giants like Condi Rice and Allen West have received. This is a heavy burden black conservatives have to bear, which is why they need all the help and support they can get from people like us. One of the worst days last year was when Allen West lost his seat in Congress. Hopefully, he will be back soon, maybe in 2014.

Let's not praise Condi too much. She helped get Raila Odinga installed in Kenya and she supports mass amnesty. She is clueless about islam.

he lost his seat because the republican establishment redrew his district in such a way as to make it the most difficult for him to win. Remember the Republicans held the Florida state houses and could have redrawn him as safe like they did all the rest of them.

They are NOT a conservatives friend.

Arrrggghhh

I have to be honest, I've struggled with my thoughts about race ever since the election. I've always thought, like Mr. Scott, that smaller government, economic growth, and specific issues like school choice are the answers to the problems in the black community. After 50 years of the so called "Great Society", the black community, in general, is in shambles. After seeing 95% of all blacks voting for Obama, I was tempted to hate black people. However, when I see Tim Scott, I have a glimmer of hope and I'm not ready to hate.

One of the things that I would love to see is for successful black conservatives (Scott, West, Cain, Sowell, Williams, Thomas, Rice, Love, etc.) launch a massive education campaign in black communities. Perhaps a wealthy benefactor could bankroll a media campaign.

Orangeone
Orangeone

The one thing we don't need to do is push school choice. If our tax dollars are going to fund public education, we need to fix the problem not redistribute youth to other schools. The better solution is to shut the public education system down and require private education or home schooling.

I love your idea on the massive education campaign. I would not center it on race, gender or economic status. We need a grass roots effort, nonprofit organization that will enable all of us to get out the true message of the American Dream. Hopefully these leaders will join, sponsor and educate, as Tim Scott is doing. But we all have the responsibility as adults, some of us are business owners to get the truth out there.

Arrrggghhh
Arrrggghhh

Your points are well taken.

I completely agree with you in theory on school choice. My only argument is that I don't think fixing the entire education system will ever happen. Although, I also have to admit that I actually don't much like the "it will never happen" argument. I hear it too often from opponents of the FairTax. One thing that I really like about school choice is that it exposes how awful the union laden public schools are. Perhaps school choice is a stepping stone to fixing the entire system.

Regarding the education initiative. I agree that although it should not focus on race or economic status per se, we do need to recognize that minority and government dependent (aka poor) groups are a huge threat to maintaining the principles of liberty that are what made this country great. Although the message should not differ much from South Philly to Silicon Valley, the messengers and the delivery method should. People in South Philly will be slightly more likely to hear the message if it's coming from someone like a Tim Scott, Herman Cain or Zo rather than Mark Levin or Rush Limbaugh. That is my only point.

Wisewoman2
Wisewoman2

My sister who is a retired teacher in the Chicago Public School system and a union member but not a supporter of their agenda was suprised to find out that the idea of Charter Schools was actually started as a concept by blacks in inner cities trying to get good schools for their kids to attend especially working lower to middle class blacks. She said they felt that their kids were stuck in bad schools that the union teachers had no incentive to help improve. She had always thought that these efforts were the results of conservatives trying to drain money from the public schools. She was fairly shocked to find out that the parents merely wanted good schools where the kids behaved and learning could take place. Again these contrary lies were spread by liberals and democrats in order to smear conservatives and republicans.

Orangeone
Orangeone

I agree with you as well.  We accomplish nothing, however, by moving children to other schools where the achievement bar is lowered for everyone.  If we don't fix the problem, we redistribute it and make American children even less educated.  One need only look at Barky Boy's EO on discipline in schools to see that there is a racial quota on discipline as well. We cannot allow further dumbing down of our children and must draw a line in the sand to fix the schools that do not function, fire the incompetent union teachers and bring discipline, respect, accountability and God back into the classroom.

I think it's important to start getting the message out BEFORE it hits the fan. When our economy collapses and the government dependency handouts get scarce, the recipients should already have heard what the solution is. I think that if we wait until after, it will be too late.
