Soledad O’Brien had Senator Jeff Sessions on this morning to discuss why he wants to cut the food stamp program. Despite his arguments that it’s growing out of control and that many receiving food stamps shouldn’t qualify for them, she insisted that there’s little abuse and that it’s feeding people who actually need food. She even accused him of trying to balance the budget on the backs of the poor by picking on the food stamp program, but as he said before in the interview, he’s not just picking on the food stamp program, that he believes every government program needs to be on the table to cut.
