I wonder what the level of NRA membership is in the Chicago area or any other urban, black areas where gun violence is common. And if Belcher owned the gun legally, how could you prevent him from owning a gun without banning them and the 2nd Amend?

I used to work at a gun store and never saw one black youth buy a gun. Not one! So is the NRA supplying these guns to black youths? How are they getting them? Oooohhhhh, those guns came from the streets and are illegal to own. Maybe they should obey the laws and then the youth's wouldn't do this to themselves. Ain't happening.
Does he have such a low self esteem for blacks that they can't make their own decisions? Racists against their own race. Yes buddy, its only because blacks have guns that they unwillingly kill each other in the inner cities. Right? How about helping your race instead of pontificating about how stupid they are.
It's amazing that jerks like this are even given an opportunity by the mainstream media to spew their silly thoughts. On second thought, I guess it makes perfect sense. The far-left mainstream media always promotes stupid arguments like this. And, isn't it interesting that people like Whitlock never talk about personal responsibility. Nobody is forcing people, let alone people in black communities, to use the guns. What escapes the media is that they are more than WILLING and CHOOSE to use them. As with drugs, if there was no demand, there wouldn't be any crime. But since there obviously is a demand AND a will to use these weapons, you have out-of-control crime. And, like most liberals, Whitlock probably wants even more government intervention and regulation to deal with this problem. Well, we have a lot of laws on the books that are supposed to protect people from criminals with guns. And how's that working out for us? Try focusing on the criminals for a change, rather than always attacking honest citizens or gun owners. Not that people like Whitlock would ever do that.

It's always someone or something else at fault for the problems in the African-American community. This myopia is the reason it will not get better. The problem is the break down of the black family. The lack of fathers raising their children. And raising those children in the home with the children's mother. It is breeding chaos. Wake up. Take responsibility. Please. For everybody's sake.
Since democrats and republicans alike are funding the drug culture through the welfare system, and helping to grow the drugs in Afghanistan, I would say that the federal government appears to want a drug culture of violence. Take away the guns, as if that were possible, and you have a bunch of welfare druggies knifing each other. Take away the welfare and quite shipping the drugs into the country via open borders and drug proliferation overseas, and you have a bunch of people who can't afford them and have to find a way to make an honest living. The left truly is the new KKK, as well as the old, because they push for the social systems that have destroyed the black culture, and killed millions of their babies. While in the welfare system, the babies that are born are under government controlled health care, which mandates deadly vaccines and seeks to put their kids on psychotropic drugs to control their behavior, which does major damage to their brain chemistry. Welfare keeps them poor, which causes their diet to be the worst of all groups, and further deteriorates their quality and length of life.

Yeah, because the NRA FORCED those black thugs to BUY those guns, and USE those guns against EACH OTHER for "turf"...I'd say RAP has more culpability in today's violent black culture than anything else in that RAP glorifies violence, thuggery, guns, and female enslavement, in addition to the victim mentality and simultaneously the victimization mentality.

The NRA #1.) isn't racist, #2.) doesn't try to murder African-Americans or otherwise attack them and #3.) doesn't advocate on race-related policy at all.
True, the NRA does support the right of people to own guns, and a lot of gang members do end up purchasing guns, many of which are obtained due to the fact that guns are legal in the United States. But, at the end of the day, it's not the NRA's fault if someone a gang member uses a gun to murder someone. It's the gang member's fault.
That said, I'm sure there would be less gang members owning guns if guns were illegal. After all, if guns were illegal, it would be very hard for people to purchase guns, since there would be no stores selling them, and the only way people could get their hands on them is if they were smuggled in through the border, which wouldn't be very easy if we had good border control, such as some other countries do.

Many gang members are underage, so it's illegal for them to own guns anyway. Most of the gang guns (whether they are legal age or not) are obtained illegally. So, legal ownership really doesn't enter into the picture - a minor fact that Whitlock seems to have forgotten.
Chicago is a prime example of the dichotomy - all guns are banned there, the gangs are rampant, and the crime is highest in the country.
This black so called sports writer is a Shock Jock sports writer. He is really controversial because he behind won't look in the mirror and loose some weight. He says these statements against people of all colors and gender. Did you guys forget the Nappy Headed Hoe comments made about the Rutger girls basketball team? He agreed with the commentator who said this. He is an a-hole irrespective of color and needs to seriously loose some weight. He is just an attention seeking fool.
I used to read Jason Whitlock in the Kansas City Star. Aside from holding odd views on sports, race baiting is one of his specialties. He and Lewis Diuguid, also of the Star, have spread their poison for a long time. Both are truly enamored only with themselves and should not be taken seriously.
