Thanks. Now I know why you’re ‘extremely right’

- Shorthorn
So Crowder instigated it by asking questions. yeah, right pal.
The guy was a thug, pure and simple. Can you say assault charge? - Extremely Right

If we pulled this type of crud at rallies it would be the end of the world in the Drive-Bys’ eyes. But this they’ll paper over.
- Dpenso11
There was no clear point to the rally. That’s why it was a bust from the start. They need to make a point even if it is intended to be for comical purposes primarily.
- Shane2813
That guy tries that with me and it’s lights out for him. MARXIST=DEMOCRATS=TERRORIST All the same.
- Anonymous
The guy is an idiot, no arguments there. However…Marxist = Someone who believes in the doctrines set forth by Karl Marx, which, incidentally, pertain mostly to using dialectical materialism as a means of understanding the capitalist power structure. Most of what we understand to be Communism was not Marx’ creation and there’s a legitimate argument to be made that he wouldn’t have supported it.Democrat = A member of the Democratic Party. This has meant a lot of different things at a lot of points in our history, and although I’m currently lined up with the Democrats, I surely would have been a Republican in, say, the 19th century.Terrorist = Someone who employs violence as a means of achieving political ends. There are enough of these to go around.

History and logic are clearly not your strong suits. You know what Marx would think; REALLY ?? NONE of US know what Marx would think of our current political situation. It’s the Democrat Party. The definition of “terrorists” is the convenient domain of those in power; look up “The Prince”. Have a nice day in confused, ignorant Democratville…..

Erm, really? Reading clearly isn’t yours.1) “You know what Marx would think; REALLY ?? NONE of US know [sic] what Marx would think of our current political situation.”I believe I said…”Most of what we understand to be Communism was not Marx’ creation and there’s a legitimate argument to be made that he wouldn’t have supported it.”Which in no way states that I would know what Marx would think, nor does it have anything to do with our current political situation. I was discussing modern conceptions of Communism, which have their roots in Leninism, Stalinism, and Maoism, not Marxism. I said “there is a legitimate argument to be made” (i.e. by referring to the primary sources of Marx that we have) that he WOULD not have supported this ideology. In other words, to someone who understands, well, history and logic, I said something to the effect of “Given the ideological bent of Marx’s writings, there is a case to be made that he wouldn’t align himself with contemporary “Communism,” an ideology that is attributed to him but has its roots primarily in the thoughts and writings of figures who emerged after his death.”How you got to “I know that Marx would feel X about our contemporary American political situation” is beyond me.
Also, incidentally, “none” is a singular (contraction of “not one”) so you should say “none of us knows.”2) “It’s the Democrat Party.”No, it’s not. “Democrat Party” is nonstandard terminology that dates back to the 40s and 50s and is primarily used as a political epithet by Republicans.I know that this must confuse you, because Republican is both and adjective and a noun (i.e. a supporter of the ideology of the Republican Party or something that relates to said ideology), while when dealing with Democrats you have the nominal Democrat and the adjectival Democratic, but do your best to try and remember it, okay?3) “The definition of “terrorists” is the convenient domain of those in power; look up “The Prince”.”I’ve read “The Prince,” thank you very much. Why, exactly, are you referring to a 16th century political treatise (that was written in Italian) to counter my definition of the contemporary English word “terrorist”? I admit that it was imprecise: it’s people who use violence or the fear of violence as a means of achieving political ends. I recognize a certain amount of contextual polysemy to the phrase, but the precise context and meaning of your counterargument is unclear to me.If you want to argue this in the language of academia, I’d be more than happy to engage you.

Come on Coffee and Shane, don’t sink down to radical left debate tactics. Although I can’t quite understand what exactly is being debated here….
At least show some respect to DMK here who is trying to have a rational, reasoned discourse.

I would like to point out that there are few and far between on your side that could achieve “debatable” status. Thank you for the clarity and intelligent comments, dmk. However, the fact that this President and his administration are fast-tracking this country to a place that we don’t want to go is not really a debatable point. It is bad, and the only ones who are defending him are the ones that want to end up on the government’s payroll while not doing anything. This communist idea is foreign to the United States and we would like to keep it that way…

I don’t agree with you so I’m gonna PUNCH you ya dufus. pretty much say’s it all.
The SAD part is that NONE of the attendees realize that John Stewart was making fun of THEM.
Oh,.. and Steve,… CAN I SEE YOUR PAPERS? VER ARE YOUR PAPERS!?? ARREEST HIMV NOW!!
- Shorthorn
That so odd, because when Bush was president, all we ever heard from the libs was, “You’re taking away my freedom, man!”. And when Crowder asks a question this Black Panther wannabe can’t answer, its “where’s your passport?”
- Extremely Right
It was an attempt at humor mocking the conservative view regarding border control. John Stewart wasn’t all that funny either.
- Shorthorn
Well, everyone says I never get the jokes. Just sayin
Personally, I think Stewart should stick to scripted shows inside the studio. It’s a little safer than winging it in front of thousands of people. It was sort of a bomb rally. Someone I read called it Peckerwoodstock. - Shorthorn

I was there however just as a cool black guy w/ a ipad… the douche level was just too off the charts for me to really start snapping pics

I think the guy who “assaulted” him was basically just asking for proof that he is from Quebec because he said he was from Quebec. I don’t think there was any mocking of immigration. Do I think what the other guy did was wrong…yes…but I am not sure what Crowder was trying to accomplish with the “you’ve got me” nonsense as the guy was walking away though.I think Crowder did nail what the rally essentially was though. It was a giant concert mostly with a little bit of Colbert vs. Stewart followed by a brief lesson of “Let’s be reasonable and not just label every group based on the actions of individuals” which is what the majority of people learned long ago…with the exception of these thousands of rally goers apparently. Haha.
I agree with Crowder also that the rally did suck…but it’s funny that he really thinks that it was some sort of anti-Tea Party rally. If it was, then Stewart and Colbert did a horrible job of that.

And a lot of people that float around on these boards…

I hate to say it…but I agree with you there. I watched an interesting video from a modern day philosopher who stated that out of all the emotions we have, there are only 2 root ones which tend to stem out the other ones.
Fear & Love
Fear is what brings out hatred, prejudice and violence against others.
Love is what brings out happiness, understanding and acceptance unto others.
So, the best message is the simplest. Shed the cancer which is fear and you will know the “bliss of God” which is known by all as love.
- Patzermom
Love the typical libturd in her dorky bug-eye glasses who can’t even name an actual view of Glenn Beck’s. Stuck on stupid.
- Tyler
Buh…buh…buh…the soundbytes are what people are all about. I mean…c’mon. Yes we can, right? Haha.
- Jonnyboy
i can honestly say that if he tried that on me, there would be nothing left of his face except those glasses…shattered…
- Mats
Yes, Glenn does say “the govenment wants to kill everybody!!!”
Wow this is a must see. Steven Crowder ran into a few guys at the Rally to Restore Sanity and, well, gets assaulted. It’s pretty much that simple. Oh, and the guy is a moron.
You’ve got to see. Be sure and check out other videos from Steven Crowder on his YouTube channel.
