The first thing that struck me about this video was that Suzie Orman, the ‘Finance Expert’, doesn’t know the difference between the bailouts and the stimulus. Campbell Brown asked her specifically whether the $787 billion dollar stimulus worked, and she responded that it did – because we couldn’t let AIG fail. Really? The money from the bailouts was completely different than the money spent in the stimulus – in fact the stimulus was specifically touted that it was about ‘creating jobs’, preventing the unemployment rate from going higher than 8%. What’s interesting is that Orman goes on to state that ‘we really need to figure out a way to create jobs’. It’s clear she doesn’t really know what she is talking about.
She also says that we may need another stimulus package because…”I don’t think we have the money to support ourselves the way that we still need to be supported.” Does she mean that on the individual level? Because we as a country sure don’t have the money to be spending on another stimulus. I mean, does she understand what debt is? Has she looked at how much debt we owe as a country to say…er…China?
It’s clear to me that Suzie Orman doesn’t know her head from her….well, I’ll let you finish my sentence. Oh, and btw, why did Campbell Brown let her get away with any of this? I mean, you don’t have to be rude, but really, could she not have pointed out what I have in this little post? Sheesh!
