Tagg Romney jests that he wants to take a swing at the president for calling his dad a liar

It’s not as bad as the left’s righteous indignation over the matter would suggest. Here’s what Tagg said:

THE HILL – Asked by North Carolina radio host Bill LuMaye how he reacted to Obama calling his father a liar, Tagg Romney said he wanted to “jump out of your seat and you want to rush down the debate stage and take a swing at him.”

“But you know you can’t do that because well first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him,” Romney continued. “But also because this is the nature of the process, they’re going to do everything they can do to try to make my dad into someone he’s not. We signed up for it. We’ve gotta kind of sit there and take our punches and then send them right back the other way.”

Here’s the audio so you can hear it for yourself. It’s the first thing he’s asked by the radio host:

Honestly it sounded like he was half-joking when he said it. It was a jest.

You know, it’s very offensive to normal Americans to hear Obama spew lies about Romney and then to call him a liar on top of that. The way the Obama campaign has lied to try and paint Romney as this rich scrooge – well it’s been very nasty. I can just imagine it’s very tough on the family.

Look, it’s Romney’s son and I’m sure many of you can identify with the sentiment. What else would a son be expected to say in this nasty political environment?

Given that let’s not go overboard in the comments ‘identifying’ with Tagg. Let’s stay away from comments about harming the president in any way. But we will ‘harm’ his career in a few weeks by voting his butt out. Can you believe it’s only a few weeks away now?
