I’ve sent my VERY hard earned money to Tancredo for years. He is such a stand up guy. He got soo dis’d during the presidential debates and it the foolish, adolesent media’s fault. He is a BORDERS guy BIG time. LOVE Tancredo. So what if he layed his bike down last year by accident.

Oh I think she will definitely run.

I hope you’re right. But her comment about there still being a couple of months to decide means she’s not running. She’d miss the ballot deadlines in about half the states if she waited that long. Besides, there is no reason for her to take so long to announce other than to announce she’s not running. That’s an announcement she would want to delay for as long as possible.
We’ll see.

I am hoping that with the very strong conservative showing in Iowa today that she will take heart and decide to run.
My amusement is I am wondering if Rove, Kristol, Krautwise, and the others are seeing this grand total of all conservatives at the top, or at least people playing to the conservative vote. No “liberal” Repubs in there. I know I am not factually exact here, just the idea of it excites me and I can barely take time to make a note (I am still working full-time PTL).

Once Perry’s immigration position goes viral with conservatives – he’s done!

Sorry Keninil, you are very wrong. President Perry will be our next leader. He is a Christian Tea Party Conservative. Our great nation is thirsting for his type of leadership. The libs have gone full throttle to destroy our great nation by perverting our society along with out money. Read the Rules for Radicals by Sal Alinsky and you will understand. The fact the gays want rights, the woman want to abortions to be paid for by us, the lack of leadership in the WH with our military and our economy. I could go on and on. We need to rebuild our society from the family values up and this is what Governor Perry will bring to the table. Not only is he a very savvy businessman who leads by experience but he is a shrewd campaigner and will deliver the most Reaganeske type speeches that will deliver Hope and Change back to the America our founders laid out for us in the Constitution!

As someone who has had to pay out of state tuition for 2 kids, despite their graduation from the #20 high school in the state near the top of their class because they were unable to get into our states top engineering school, I am real sensitive to any Gov that endorses instate tuition for illegal immigrants. If you have such strong Christian American values as you say, maybe you will want to contribute to my kids education as well as those of of illegal immigrants. I can give you an address where to send the money.
Any candidate supporting any form of illegal immigration or subsidies for illegal immigrants(health, unemployment) is not getting my vote, support or money.

Not really. He wants to secure the borders first. To most people that is their paramount concern. What happens after that as far as the path to citizenship and other options — Conservatives differ in their opinions. As long as he maintains his steadfast position on securing the borders first, then he is fine on this issue.
- http://twitter.com/MaroonRepublic Maroon Republic
He has weaknesses but you won’t find anyone in the current race that will get after Obama like he will. He is a winner and a masterful campaigner (see what he did to Kay Bailey Hutchinson in the primary last year). The thing to watch for is whether he’ll get Palin’s endorsement. They are very good friends and his ability to raise money along with SarahPAC will make him very hard to beat.
He is not the most conservative candidate in the race but he has done a very good job running Texas for 12 years.

I hear you Marron, I’m just very very worried if he pushes some BS illegal amnesty thing.
Then their will be violence in America. If others don’t obey the law and they get benefits- guess what? Then I don’t have to obey the law and neither does any other citizen.
- http://twitter.com/MaroonRepublic Maroon Republic
He has been more conservative the past couple of years when it comes to immigration. Will he make that his primary goal in stopping illegals? Probably not but he won’t grant amnesty.

well, none of that “dream act” BS either unless every citizen is going to get a college loan credit equal to the amount of the illegals offspring.

Even Tom T. admits Perry does NOT support amnesty. He supports an open fair trade border allowing free flow of labor. We’ve already got that with Canada. Do you want a wall on the northern border too?
I support the Fence in some places. It’s made a big difference in San Diego County. It’s not the long term answer and won’t work in Texas. It never has had majority support in Texas even from ranchers and conservatives. Remember the whole damn border is the Rio Grande River. No one wants to fence off the Rio Grande. Animals migrate just as freely as people. You can’t stop one without stopping the other. It’s an obnoxious thought to wall off the whole damn river! This is the sort of BS crap Tommy T puts out for gullible conservatives to lap up.
Perry is old enough like me to remember the Bracero program where American ranches and farms had easy access to Mexican labor. The relaxed flow of labor across our southern border has been a seminal part of ranching and agriculture in the West for the whole of our nation’s history. Believe it or not there were decades when it was our cowboys crossing the border for work in Mexico not vice versa.
The whole problem with immigration stems from the fact we shut down the legal flow of temporary workers forcing millions to simply do what they always have but illegally. The left builds on their illegal status to sell their Marxist class warfare and rope them in as current or future voters. They profit from the broken system.
Please think about it. If you go back to 2006 when our economy was actually rolling we simply don’t have enough people to fill all the jobs. McCain was wrong, we’d have plenty of lettuce pickers if they paid $50/hr. They don’t and won’t. We’d be much better off following Perry’s lead than Tom T’s. He’s a one issue ideologue and not the sharpest tool in the drawer.

Gingrich did well in the debate but his words are just that, words. In practice he is a total DC insider no less than Boehner or Hatch. He’s simply turned it up to counter his real thinking expressed slapping down the Ryan Plan.
Newt was totally in support of working a Health Care mandate deal with Hillary back when he was Speaker. He toured the Northeast pitching a compromise with her just before he was forced out of office.
Don’t be fooled by his aggressive spiel. He’s a phony.

“Illegal immigrants entering Texas’ higher education system are direct beneficiaries of a 1982 Supreme Court decision, Plyler vs. Doe. Parents in Tyler sued after the state began charging tuition for illegal immigrant children. The court ruled that Texas and the rest of the country must educate illegal immigrant children free of charge in public schools.”

Hmmm, what’s more expensive, a generation or two of illiterate deadbeats and terminally poor folks or a path to citizenship and education that will allow these to be productive, professional contributors to the economy at the state and federal level?
Did the kids come here illegally of their own volition or were they brought here with no say in the matter? Are they as innocent as the unborn? Maybe.
I think since the fed will not secure the border, and sues states who try and enforce or enact anti-illegal immigration enforcement. The far-thinking thing to do is try and allow these to become as productive as possible. if the border were secured, this wouldn’t be an issue now would it?
- http://www.facebook.com/people/Liz-Theiss/100001295886095 Liz Theiss
I think anyone who dismisses illegal immigration as a serious problem is probably on the take for the cheap labor not a true conservative. In Harris County we have about 60% of births underwritten by tax-payers as anchor-baby future DEMS/Union-Members. Our dead soldiers and service-members did not die so Rick Perry could be pleasing to his cheap labor buddies in, Charles Butt, Bob Perry, Dr. James Leininger, Charles Foster immigration attorney, Dr. Steve Hotze and Norman Adams. I think there are serious LONG-TERM consequences here besides dead cops. Perry is a crony of the INSTITUTION OF CHEAP LABOR and principled conservatives have a right to know. Give your Perry Pom-Poms a rest and let us Texans who live, breathe and work among illegals clue you in a bit.
- Anonymous
Ok, go ahead. I went to High School and College there and still have 4 family members there. Clue me in.
Where’s the border security? Is this not the job of the feds? Do you want an ever-increasing illiterate mob surrounding you, or intergrated, highly educated professionals? Do you play chess, or might volley ball be your only sport?
Think ahead a ways. Perry must make the best of a bad situation. He must also try and represent all of the people to the best of his ability. I think the Fed is the problem. As long as they refuse to do their constitutionally mandated duty/requirement, things will run a-freakin’ muck!
I lived at the corner of Bellaire and Gessner for a couple of years in the 80′s.

In TX and NM aliens are able to access grant money as well. IRCOT is putting together a case to challenge these grant monies to non-citizens. This is no big secret.
The question is…why is Tancredo doing this? It’s good to get this out in the open.
It’s good to talk about it.Personally, I hate this part of Perry’s record.
I am married to an Canadian-born immigrant, who came here legally.
So it chaffes me bigtime to see people getting a pass when they jump our borders. My husband and I were talking about this the other day…
Well, I was talking, and he was listening.
And he turned to me, and said:“But it’s not his job to secure the border…is it?”
My big cannuk hubby is a man of few words.
He likes Perry, but he loves Sarah Palin too, and has been hoping that she would run.
Even though he had to jump through hoops to go through the immigration process, he is a Christian…and has compassion for those come here not to prey on us, but seeking a better life.Still…I don’t like this about Perry.
But which of the other candidates would be less compassionate towards illegals, and do what is needed to uphold our Immigration Laws?
Which one?
And could they win the general election with a hardline stance?I will say this though…
Greta had a 2-part thing on Perry back in May.
Part of it was her following Perry down to the border, and a helicopter ride, with Perry showing her what he and the Rangers were doing to patrol the border themselves, with the limited resources that they have to do it.
It was impressive.
They concentrate mostly on the criminal element of illegal traffic. - http://twitter.com/RichMcCreedy Richard McCreedy
Perry is taking the Reagan position here. Secure the border, then give citizenship to those here illegally. Now, Reagan made a mistake, but I have to be honest, if we secured the border first then I’d be willing to talk about work programs and what not. There is no possible way to actually deport 20 million people, but I don’t want to hear about legalization and amnesty until the border is secure first.
- Anonymous
The way to deport 20mill people is to cut off govt svcs AND anchor babies, and they will go home voluntarily, no need to deport…

——-
STOP giving welfare, disability, WIC, food-stamps, free school, free college, free housing, free medical, free public defenders, free tax-refunds on fake documentation, to illegals and anchor babies.
Make it illegal for illegals to drive.
Make it illegal for illegals to vote.
Prosecute and punish those who buy and sell SS#, IDs and DLs to use them to get taxpayer funded freebies at multiple jurisdictions..
Illegals will deport themselves.
And YES, it can be done.
The problem is that people who say
” we can’t deport illegals”
know very well that it can be done. - poljunkie
I was rear ended by an illegal a few years ago, and when the police came he ran way. Just left his car and ran away!!!! The police man seems a little stunned at first but didnt chase him. Just shrugged.
I paid my deductible and my insurance ( after some back and forth) finally picked up the rest- even though they really didnt want to.

I live in a sanctuary city.
Let me give some facts which I think the rest of the country needs to know since no one else seems to be reporting on them.
In my city, after a whole bunch of cops got laid off due to the city’s budget cuts,
now if there is an accident and the cop finds out that one or both parties are latino/hispanic/spanish speaking, they DO NOT even ask for ID/DL/Insurance/registration. They just let them go.
But not if you are non-hispanic, because then the law applies to you.
The same is true at DUI check-points .
If you are caught and non-latino, you are scrood.
There is a law coming in CA which makes it illegal for LEA to impound the cars of illegals who are caught driving drunk or with no insurance or a stolen vehicle or with drugs in car or with no license …..because it inconveniences the illegal aliens when their car is impounded under these circumstances. - poljunkie

You don’t have to “deport 20 million people” come on. You and I both know if you POWERBOMB businesses that hire these people, do not allow ANY benefits, bi-lingual education, forms in Spanish, etc. if they can come here illegally and can’t find work, not get benefits etc. they will leave.
We are encouraging this behavior and so they keep coming. We can’t even get some simple law on the books for residents of a city/state to prove they are allowed to vote. So we have illegals voting in elections.

When the political will is in place and the business, church, separatists, ethnic advocacy, communists groups are peeled back America could deport 100 million if she set her mind to it.All you have to do is stop subsidizing them via the US taxpayer and get businesses to get into the habit of hiring Americans again.Turn up the control levers on ICE and let the illegals know “We are On It”. I’m just not sure who is currently in the race that is more conservative than Perry AND can actually, you know, win. Pawlenty may have been that guy, but he doesn’t look like he’s going to make it to next year. That pretty much leaves me with Bachmann as the only person who can make a claim to be more conservative than Perry with a chance to win this thing. However…..she has no experience. Congressman who hasn’t held a single leadership position in her time there….eh. Not going to let the perfect be the enemy of the good here. Perry has openly talked about completely shutting down entire agencies of the department and has recently said that we need to discuss not whether SS and Medicare need to be reformed..no. But whether or not they need to be done away with all together. Now who else besides Ron Paul actually says THAT?

I am not one of Ron Paul’s crazy supporters, but I don’t think I like him written off as a “kook.” He had a lot of good points in the debate and doesn’t shy away from controversial issues that we should address.

“Tancredo founded the Team America political action committee in 2004 in order to raise contributions for congressional candidates who opposed illegal immigration. Because of campaign law requirements, Tancredo was forced to resign from Team America PAC. The PAC was noted for targeting incumbent Congressman Chris Cannon in the 2006 Republican primary. In 2009, reporters discovered that Marcus Epstein, the Executive Director of Team America, had assaulted an African American woman in 2007, and had used a racial epithet. Tancredo kept Epstein on his staff despite the guilty plea.”
Tancredo isn’t even a republican anymore. He switched to some obtuse party…”American Constitution Party”.
I think Tancredo has many issues himself. Being a nobody all of a sudden in recent years might be but one of those.

He’s known as being pretty liberal in Texas. Bush junior if you ask me. We don’t need another one of these imposters giving conservatives a bad name. We do good in Texas, regardless of the closet liberals that represent us.

I think Laura was the far-out liberal in that family.

I respect and understand your strategic thinking on this. I await to see if there will be another miracle candidate but feel its very important for voters to understand the truth on Perry, maybe he will see the light if that is who we get stuck with but I do trust Palin more on this although the clues here are rare ones. I read carefully her statements and detected a pattern in Rule of Law, also her vids indicate the value of Americans working hard with their hands,I see this in her promo vids. It harks back to the value of labor itself as expressed by Booker T. Washington in Up From Slavery. I believe if we wish to maintain and hold our nation we have to better divert our own people into the jobs being done by illegals. Pull the welfare out and stop claiming everyone needs to go to college.

I certainly don’t think that everyone needs college. College today almost works against you in the real world unless you are getting a profess. designation like Dr. Attorney, CPA, Pharmacist, Nursing, or something similar ya’ now. If you get a general degree, what a waste of money.
P.S. Booker T. Washington is one of my heros. I love him.

You sure you didn’t mean Booker T. and the M.G.’s? Great band.

I do have a lot of music going through my head at any given time.
I’s talkin’ ’bout none other than peanut man extraordinaire…Christian extraordinaire, brilliant scientist extrao…ok, nuff uh dat. This guy was awesome. If you ever have a minute, read a good, non-revisionist Christian review of his life…and I’ll have the quadruple meatlovers/cheese-lovers pizza sandwich…hold the the anchoves.
OMG that’s typecasting huh? I suppose you’re gonna talk about my garbage pilfering, salmon snatchin’ and stuff now. Dude, a guy’s gotta eat.

This piece was also on HuffPo.

But it doesn’t take away from what was in the piece. Either way I hope Perry addresses it.

Tancredo might be a one issue guy, but one that one issue – immigration – he’s terrific, the polar opposite of globalist “conservatives” like McCain, the Bushes, and Perry (and a whole bunch more) who want open borders and loss of American sovereignty. Rick Perry would be a disaster for this country. Whoever I support must be correct on illegal immigation. Incidentally, I don’t call myself a tea partier – I’ve never been to their events, but next to out of control spending, immigration might be their main complaint. The overwheming majority of voters in both parties oppose illegal immigration, but the “leaders” support it. The Democrat leadership wants a larger welfare state and votes, while the Republican leadership wants cheap labor and also doesn’t particularly care about footing hardworking middle class taxpayers with the bill of feeding, educating, and providing medical services to these parasites, as long as their buddies in agro and construction don’t have to.
As I’ve said many times before – a pox on both their houses.
- http://www.facebook.com/people/Liz-Theiss/100001295886095 Liz Theiss
Indeed Brian, that is exactly what is going on but rarely addressed head on as it needs to be. Just as Tea Party groups hold to their guns on fiscal responsibility the same accountability must be held on immigration as kicking the can down the road to our children and what we are setting up for them is equally UNCONSCIONABLE!

The points Tom uses against Perry are out dated and not at all accurate with what Perry has done in Texas.
Tom put no effort into researching his article before banging out a hit piece and all anyone has to do to unravel it is do their own research on Perry’s immigration enforcement policies. - Anonymous
He worked for Al Gore, that,s all I need to know. He is OUT in my book!

Rick Parry is just the latest “flavor of the month” for the Republicans who aren’t happy with the idea that the flip flopping Mitt “Corporations Are People” Romney is going to be their nominee.
Unfortunately for the GOP they have no other credible candidates so Romney will end up being the nominee by default.
Of course it will be even worse for Republicans if somehow someone like Bachmann, Palin, or Parry actually wins.

Governor Perry will be the next president. It is the Feds job to secure the border. The fact that Gov Perry has granted college tuition for anchor babies is going to only help him with the Latino vote. He will get the southern red state votes and he will get all the christian votes aprox 25% of the electoral votes. He will make incredible speeches to put you all naysayers to rest about his illegal conundrum. He is the man to put BHO in his place in the unemployment line. There is a reason why Newts campaign strategist all ran to Perry’s camp. They are prepping themselves for a landslide 2012 win and it is going to be very exciting. If Palin ( which I think she will) jumps into the race look out..We are in for a show!

Tancredo has consistently stood up for conservatism, and is one of the few politicians that I respect. He’s a stand-up guy even though I don’t agree with him on all positions.
- http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe
What a bunch of !@#$%^%^. Perry is the best contender for POTUS, and I have known him for 20 years. This Tancredo is spelled Al Gore. Steveart go back to Canada. Gov Perry, do not ever take any other office, other than POTUS. If not POTUS, remain as the best governor of the Best state. At least, with you, we do not have to worry about FEMA desroying our disaster relief, or another Waco. A true patriot, who has risked his life for the USA, unlike the liberals, who want to have a new world order, (communism). Ric, watch your 6, the libs have you on their radar.
- http://www.facebook.com/Bill.alias.Stewman Bill Steward
It’s not just the Libs that have him in their radar.. It’s also Constitutional Conservatives.. It really irks me when Republicans whine and complain about Obama’s overreaching agenda or his not upholding the Constitution, but when their own Republican leader circumvents the Constitution, they turn a blind eye… It’s time for Republicans to hold to their Convictions, defend the Constitution and hold their own leader’s feet to the fire, or this Nation, as we know it, will be lost forever… It’s happened to EVERY great nation except this one, so don’t say it can’t happen..

Palin will wipe up the floor with Perry. It will be fun to watch! He should have kept his word and stayed out.
- http://www.facebook.com/TTSGreatDanes Kymber Roldan-Tyner
This is the LEAST reason to NOT vote for him. . . really not happy with him and will not vote for him in primary. Will also not shoot my self in the foot if he is the only choice we have.
I have been in Texas for 18 years and LOVE this state. For those that think the eminent Domain is old news. . .my mother in law lost 2 houses to this and damn near lost a third. This was all under Perry.
Don’t get me started on his regulations. . . REALLY unhappy with the new breeder laws here because they are unconstitutional, hopefully it will get squashed in court.
He is a RINO with better economical sense then most.

Tancredo criticized the Denver Public Library system for purchasing reading materials written in Spanish and for offering space for classes to be held for these library users, on the grounds that putting Spanish-speakers in a ‘linguistic ghetto’ would delay their integration into American society.
Tom has made some pretty racist remarks, and I his comments about Perry do not sway me one bit. Much of what Tom has written or said is out of context.
It is the Feds job to control illegal immigration.
Tom Tancredo helps lift the veil on Rick Perry’s stance on illegal immigration and surrounding issues. And it ain’t good:
POLITICO: Perry is eager to separate himself from his predecessor in the Texas governor’s mansion, George W. Bush — who is unpopular with both tea party Republicans and the American electorate as a whole. But one area where Perry’s positions are virtually identical to Bush is immigration.
…
When he first took office as governor in 2001, Perry went to Mexico and bragged about his law that granted “the children of undocumented workers” special in-state tuition at Texas colleges, the first state in the nation to do so.
“The message is simple,” Perry concluded, “educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.” Education is the future, and (echoing Cesar Chavez’s slogan) yes we can.]
Just a few weeks ago, Perry defended his decision to give in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. He said “to punish these young Texans for their parents’ actions is not what America has always been about.”
Perry opposed Arizona’s tough anti-illegal immigration law SB 1070. “I have concerns,” he explained, “with portions of the law passed in Arizona and believe it would not be the right direction for Texas.”
He spoke out last year against using E-Verify to prevent illegal immigrants from getting jobs as state employees, who get their paychecks from the taxpayers. He insisted it “would not make a hill of beans’ difference.”
…
Perry, in a speech in Mexico in 2007, said he supports completely open borders, calling for the “free flow of individuals between these two countries who want to work and want to be an asset to our country and to Mexico.”
In the same speech he came out against building a fence along the U.S.-Mexican border.Perry also came out in favor of blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants in 2006, albeit without citizenship, supporting “a guest worker program that takes undocumented workers off the black market and legitimizes their economic contribution.”
…
Perry’s views here are at odds with the vast majority of Americans — and virtually all Republican voters. While he opposes E-Verify for even state employees, 82 percent of all voters, and 91 percent of Republicans, support E-Verify for all employees.
While Perry opposes the border fence, 68 percent of all voters, and 86 percent of Republicans, support the fence. While Perry opposes the Arizona law, SB 1070, voters want 1070 in their state by a 2-1 margin — including 86 percent of all Republicans.
Perry’s only true conservative positions on borders involve calling for an end to sanctuary cities and signing a voter ID law. While I support these measures, they don’t make up for the rest of his positions on immigration. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I believe Perry’s got some explaining to do on this issue.
