Tea Party member speaks at Occupy San Diego, turns into circus

Radio talk show host and Tea Party activist Rick Amato spoke before Occupy San Diego yesterday. He was invited to come because he had written a column and posted a video of an interview with a protester who was a proud socialist and wanted a revolution. Occupy San Diego believed that it wasn’t representative of who they were invited him to speak so he could see for himself.

While he was speaking, he decided to conduct a quick ‘applause poll’ to find out if there were people in the crowd who were Socialists, or at least sympathetic to Socialism, and if they represented the majority. As it turned out, the majority of people did not agree with Socialism or were not socialists. But after he proclaimed that indeed the majority did oppose Socialism, the crowd got confused and didn’t like his characterization of the poll with one guy claiming that he can’t trick them into an either/or choice.

After they made it through that little squabble, Amato pointed out that Obama has received a third of his campaign donations from Wall Street. And that’s when it began to fall completely apart with one guy yelling something about the Koch brothers:
