McCotter doesn’t do well on the car insurance question. If he would have gotten that one right he would have completely schooled O’Matthews. It’s really simple: driving is a privilege, but no one is required to drive, meaning no one has to have a drivers license. You can ride a bike or swim if you like. But it’s only mandatory, by the state, if you drive a car. So we’re talking apples and parachutes here. No correlation.
But other than that, he did great. In fact I really love it when people actually stand up to Matthews. Don’t get high hopes though, this isn’t a yell-fest. But when Matthews accuses McCotter of being a libertarian, McCotter hits right back:
