The Islamic war on Nigeria’s Christians

CBN has produced a great video exposing the Islamic war on Christians by the Islamic group Boko Haram. We just posted on this a few days ago, but this new video better conveys the reality of what’s going on in Nigeria’s North and how the Christians who were born in the North live in fear of even going to church. They are being told they must leave or the bombing will continue.

If Islam was so tolerant and peaceful, wouldn’t the Nigerian government and community rise up and squash Boko Haram and create a safe environment for the Christians to worship, especially considering that Boko Haram has taken credit for the attacks and has made public this war?

I can’t imagine living in this type of fear. Really, what would it be like to know that the single act of going to church could get me killed because a group hated what I believe and wanted to purge people like me from the land? Yet still these Christians insist on praying for their enemies that they would be touched by God.

It’s videos like this that remind me of how unseriously I take my Christian faith at times and why I should be on my knees much more in prayer for them. After all, these are the people Christ was talking about:

“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.” – Matthew 24:6-9

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” – Matthew 5:11-12
