**UPDATE: (NY Daily News is latest) This has become an ongoing archive of Lefty hate. Continuously updated**

This is absolutely disgusting. Firedog Lake blogger is already blaming Sarah Palin for Rep. Gabrielle Gifford shooting that just happened this morning.

***

And Markos Moulitsas, owner of the far left DailyKos tweeted the above article from Firedog Lake:

UPDATE: HotAir has the lowdown on the shooter, including videos.

***

UPDATE: Paul Krugman for the NY Times has decided to weigh in on this and says that violence like this will occur when Beck, Limbaugh, etc. create a climate of hate:

***

UPDATE: Jane Fonda says that Sarah Palin, The Tea Party, and Glenn Beck are responsible:

***

UPDATE: Rep. Grijalva says that Sarah Palin rhetoric contributes to shooting:

***

UPDATE: Joan Walsh retweeted this garbage today from another Lefty blog:

Lone gunman again? Trouble is, all the dead are Democrats. They always are. Coincidence? I think not. The time has come to see some dead Republicans before I'll swallow the "politics had nothing to do with it" spin the right wants to peddle. Until then, all the blood in on right wing hands. As Janet Jackson said "two wrongs don't make it right, but it damn sure makes it even".

Abe Lincoln, James Garfield, and William McKinley

Not to forget attempted assassinations(involving guns) of Teddy Roosevelt, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagen, and George W. Bush. Nixon almost had a similar attempt as the one on Bill Clinton.

"The time has come to see some dead Republicans..."??

Are you serious about that threat or is it just a 'figure of speech'??

How many of the killers have also been democrats - would really like to know.

The problem is, by the time anything is reported on what is on Loughner's computer there will be WEEKS of the left/liberals claiming that it was the Tea Party that caused this!

You still need to know the motive of each incidence to get a more difinitive picture and be more able to see connection(s), if any.

In the end the perp(s) is/are the one(s) who are guilty. We are a nation of laws not men.

Here's how I see it: Most people have political beliefs.

Some people are mentally ill.

Some mentally ill people commit crimes.

When a mentally ill person commits a crime, why do we focus on his or her political beliefs?

When that Manson follower tried to kill Pres. Ford, did we focus on her political beliefs? No; we thought she was crazy. And she was crazy.

Loughner is crazy; it doesn't matter what his political beliefs are, because whether he's liberal or conservative, he would have done this anyway.

The left just wants to silence the opposition. In the famous words of Rham "Never let a crisis go to waste"....shame on the left for politicizing this tragedy!!

Yes. Disgusting. Read the paper this morning - had article by McClatchy intimating this was caused by the Tea Party, etc. Mentioned some politicians had been spit upon during debate on HC Bill which is absolutely false. I am so sick of the press and it's OPINION pieces dressed up like objective journalism. They have no idea what this young man was thinking. His facebook said one of his favorite books was the communist manifesto, obviously not a book a right-winger would have as a favorite. I believe the left does this to throw the stink off themselves. Then, when it's found they're the wackos, there's no news of it. We conservatives really need to take over papers, major news stations, etc. and restore unbiased news. Saw the Manchurian Candidate this weekend. Still rings true. Bad people with bad intentions in our midst.

There must be some reasons why people do feel like that. isn't?

After all crosshairs and " shoot an M16" statements are real.

I would say she put the crosshairs up there. She said "reload."

What's to question?

DisturbingBehavior

You said "reload" just now. Who is "up there" for your reference? Are you targeting someone? OMG, please, someone warn the authorities. There might be a crazy guy who takes your message as a plot against the Hostess Twinkies factories.

We must save the twinkies. Think of what you're saying. You may have just doomed us to a life without twinkies. Take it back, before someone acts on your assumption of "reload".

the placebo effect is an increase in sugar, I've never met anyone named subliminal while using an instant message, and i might suggest a Nissan Altima or Honda Civic.

Krugman, Daly, Grijalva, Fonda et al. are entirely correct. Palin never pulled the trigger, she just showed the lunatics where to shoot. As Giffords sid herself: words have consequences.

Can you explain the Fort Hood shooter? What about the guy who held up the Discovery Channel? What about the guy who shot up the Holocaust Museum? What about the students at Columbine?

Best yet, just explain to me Charles Whitman.

Why is it so hard to accept some people are just CRAZY with no logical reason behind it.

is it surprising that this site does not allow you to like comments with dissenting views...If Sarah Palin had any shred of moral fiber then she would take some responsibility, but what most people fail to realize is she is out there for herself and could care less about the USA.

So tell me just what is so hateful about pointing out obvious calls to violent actions? What is so hateful about telling the truth? Sorry people but the evidence is overwhelming and cannot be removed when it comes to the likes of Palin, Bachman, Beck, Limbaugh etc...

DT- I read through your post here- it all seems pretty disturbing.... the bigger government ideologies-

Question is- If a person or group wants that specific ideology (variant of Socialism or Marxism), what's in it for them? I understand that the politically connected get power (which I don't think can be done away with under any system with a government entity because the government entity by nature is an institution of power), so what's in it for the bottom layer that want in?

True "HATE SPEECH" Anyone?

**The following is from a THREE YEAR OLD POST on "Patterico's Pontifications". Some of the names may not ring a bell with the newly-awakened (politically), but a few of the above 'favorite sons' of 'moral superiority' and 'chagrined outrage' at such 'violent rhetoric' as a map with bullseyes on it and 'targeted districts'... are listed below, PROUDLY showing their "CARE-FULL" "tolerance" for ANY opposite position or personage.

NOTE ESPECIALLY THE WISELY SEDATE ~markos~ AND HIS WORDS ON OUR FELLOW AMERICAN CITIZENS' MURDERS, BURNING AND HANGING FROM A BRIDGE IN IRAQ.

No Hate Speech by Prominent Leftists?

A certain intellectual fraud who goes by the name of Glenn Greenwald (as well as a few other names) recently said that leftist hate speech is not uttered by prominent leftist figures, but rather only by anonymous blog comments and e-mailers:

[I]t is undeniably true that there are people of every ideological stripe who express profane and reprehensible sentiments. The difference is that right-wing authors, talk radio hosts and bloggers — read and listened to by millions of people — traffic in such sentiments regularly . . . . But to find such sentiments outside of right-wing circles, one must go where right-wing bloggers went today — digging into anonymous blog comments (or e-mails allegedly received). That difference is so obvious — and so meaningful — that it all ought to go without saying.

This post puts the lie to Greenwald’s ridiculous assertion.

Below I have listed more than 20 examples of hate speech by prominent leftist figures, such as politicians, journalists writing for major newspapers or radio networks, television and movie industry personalities, and the like.

I have restricted the examples to true hate speech, such as calling for (or exulting over) the beating and/or deaths of conservatives, or naked racism and anti-Semitism. I have deliberately excluded speech that simply brands conservatives as Nazis or fascists. Such speech is hateful, but I want to leave minimum room for leftists to quibble with the list.

Brace yourself for the leftist hate:

* National Public Radio legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg:

[I]f there is retributive justice [Sen. Jesse Helms] will get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it.

* USA Today syndicated columnist Julianne Malveaux, on Clarence Thomas:

I hope his wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early like many black men do, of heart disease.

* Washington Post syndicated columnist Richard Cohen:

For hypocrisy, for sheer gall, [Newt] Gingrich should be hanged.

* Comedian and (former) talk show host Craig Kilborn [Caption under footage of George W. Bush]:

Snipers Wanted

* Members of the St. Petersburg Democratic Club:

And then there’s Rumsfeld who said of Iraq “We have our good days and our bad days.” We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say “This is one of our bad days” and pull the trigger.

* Actor Alec Baldwin on Conan O’Brien:

[I]f we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families.

* Comedian Chris Rock:

If President Clinton would pardon me I would whip Starr’s ass right now. I will get a crew from Brooklyn and we will stomp him like, like, we’re Savion Glover. We’ll stomp him like it’s bringing da noise.

* Director Spike Lee on Charlton Heston:

Shoot him with a .44 caliber Bulldog.

* James Carville on Ken Starr:

He’s one more mistake away from not having any kneecaps.

* Syndicated columnist Alexander Cockburn:

There is a sound case to be made for dropping a tactical nuclear weapon on the Cuban section of Miami. The move would be applauded heartily by most Americans. Alas, Operation Good Riddance would require the sort of mature political courage sadly lacking in Washington, D.C., these days.

* Columnist, author, media pundit, journalist, and newspaper editor Dan Savage:

My plan? Get close enough to Bauer to give him the flu, which, if I am successful, will lay him flat just before the New Hampshire primary. I’ll go to Bauer’s campaign office and cough on everything. Phones and pens. Staplers and staffers. I even hatch a plan to infect the candidate himself; I’ll keep a pen in my mouth until Bauer drops by his offices to rally the troops. And when he does, I’ll approach him and ask for his autograph, handing him the pen from my flu-virus-incubating mouth.

That column also appeared on Salon.com. It was a little more than hate “speech” — the guy actually did try to give Gary Bauer the flu.

It’s racism you want?

* Democrat Senator Robert Byrd:

There are white niggers. I’ve seen a lot of white niggers in my time. I’m going to use that word.

* Democrat presidential candidate Jesse Jackson on Jews:

Hymies

and on New York City:

Hymietown

* During his presidential campaign, Jesse Jackson was linked with (and refused to denounce) Louis Farrakhan, who has at times been linked with the Congressional Black Caucus, which also supported his Million Man March. Farrakhan is a man of the left who has been a harsh critic of President Bush.

o Here’s Farrakhan on Jews:

Many of the Jews who owned the homes, the apartments in the black community, we considered them bloodsuckers because they took from our community and built their community but didn’t offer anything back to our community.

o Farrakhan on Pope John Paul II:

no good cracker

o Farrakhan on white people:

White people are potential humans – they haven’t evolved yet.

o And again:

Murder and lying comes easy for white people.

Does it count as “hate” speech if you say you “hate” Republicans?

* Howard Dean:

I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for . . .

Back to assassination wishes:

* British pundit Charlie Brooker, during the presidency of George W. Bush:

John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr. — where are you now that we need you?

Actual elected officials have engaged in hate speech:

* Democrat Representative Pete Stark, speaking to a Republican:

You think you are big enough to make me, you little wimp? Come on. Come over here and make me, I dare you. You little fruitcake.

* Alabama Democratic congressional incumbent Earl Hilliard, on challenger, Artur Davis:

Davis and the Jews, No Good for the Black Belt

Let’s not forget the bloggers:

* Markos Moulitsas Zuniga crowed over the death of American contractors in Iraq:

I feel nothing over the death of merceneries [sic]. They aren’t in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.

* Duncan “Atrios” Black discussing ABC’s The Note:

[M]y take on The Note has always been, with apologies to Douglas Adams:

A bunch of mindless jerks who will be first up against the wall when the revolution comes.

* Huffington Post blogger Tony Hendra wished for Dick Cheney to die:

O Lord, give Dick Cheney’s Heart, Our Sacred Secret Weapon, the strength to try one more time! For greater love hath no heart than that it lay down its life to rid the planet of its Number One Human Tumor.

There is a point where the far right and the far left are the same. If you look at Marxism, you need to kill people to keep the Marxist idea's going. Stalin 7 million, Hitler 5 million and Lenin 10 million.

I'm thinking in addition to that, there's probably a touch of dyslexia in there the way he writes and repeats himself in a rearrangement of words. Perhaps mixed with some OCD...not sure.

If you pay attention to his Pima College video, he seems to indirectly hint at a possible incident that may be what triggered the act.

Tyler

I'm not sure how there could be a "left" or a "right" anarchist. Oh well.

The dude to me seemed to be one of the real true-blue "tin-foil hat" types, but in addition had some mental disability (a form of dyslexia maybe) and showed indirect signs in his Pima College video about an incident which may have sparked him.

The nutbag shooter hated religious expression and listed mein kampf and the communist manifesto as his favorite books on his social network page (before it was taken down). Based on that, If anything the shooter was a far-left nutbag. The only quasi-far right thing the shooter was for was to back the currency with gold. But it doesnt surprise me - the left does this anytime something bad happens. Solidarity for one day - then the Trajedy Exploitation starts the next.

Tyler

Seems like the exploitation started pretty immediately. That combined with the possibility of another guy in his 50s being involved makes one wonder if there was something more deliberate about the shooting.

When a public official gets shot in the head, it's easy to lose our perspective and forget that the real victim here is Sarah Palin. I blame Obama and maybe George Soros.

Where can we send condolence cards to Sarah Palin?

Olympicleprechaun
Olympicleprechaun

Why do you need us to give you an address? I am sure you had previously offered condolences to her when haters burned her church down, hacked into and published her e-mails, threatened her and her daughters with gang rape, called them whores and c**ts, hung her in effigy, send her daughter bristol envelopes with white powder in them, set up a display where for a dollar(?) you could shoot at cardboard

cutouts of her and her children.

Just to name a few. You certainly were sympathetic to the Palin family that has been buried under psychotic hate for over two years now, right? Right?

Wisco

Whoa, whoa, whoa there little Irish athlete.

I'm just saying that whenever someone who's been "targeted" by Palin winds up shot, we have to remember that the REAL victim is Sarah Palin -- not a 9 year-old girl dead on a slab someplace or a husband who died protecting his wife from someone's God-Given Second Amendment Remedies.

Let's dial it down a notch and not get crazy here, OK?

It is because of what people like Sarah Palin and Glen Breck rant about. They've brought the U.S to new lows. Never mind the First Amendment anymore, the right wing are going to be viscously determined to get their own way. I m so glad I don't live in the States - what a horrible country.
