The truth of the matter is: Assad's a dead man and he knows it. He is at the mercy of the rest of the world to save him.
It's about this time, that I'm bettin' he wishes he would not have been an Iranian Shia front man, playing all sides against the middle. And, at the same time, engaged in the killing of tens upon thousands of innocent people... His own countrymen.
I personally, would not want to be in his shoes.
Because, evidently, being a member of the Syrian Elite, ain't all it's cracked up to be ...
Each side in this Syrian civil war is evil. Each commits atrocities in increasing levels of barbarism. No good will come of it, whoever wins. There will be a bloodbath.
But, as I'm living in northern Israel these days, so long as they shootin' & killin' each other, they aint botherin' us.
Senator, since you just voted to raise our taxes your opinion has no worth so sit down and keep quiet.
These peoples are all descendants of the Assyrian Empire - A truly Godless legacy. Demonic at that. Ever tried reasoning with a demonic person - doesn't work.
Why do we as a nation have to justify every religion on the planet by creating, within our minds, a credible moderate sect of a said religion. Our government did this when 9/11 happened... "but Islam is a peaceful religion, these were just extremists."
If a couple of Americans had slammed planes into Mecca and Medina, do you think that they would have started teaching English and Christianity in their schools??!!

How about America worry about Americans for awhile. Syria is a garbage pit - it has been for a very long time. I personally also believe that the WMDs from Iraq have been hiding in Syria ever since Hussein was ousted from power. America has no business putting our military lives or our public treasure into doing anything about Syria. We didn't help Iran. We haven't helped Darfur. We have stood silent as people around the world have been slaughtered. We pick and choose "special" places to help, and when we do, we lose far more than we gain. Obama is a fool, and so are the people in Congress. They do not have the interests of this country in mind. As far as I am concerned, all of those hotbeds of hate and chaos on the other side of the world can implode. We should already be energy independent and free from the chains of bowing to these horrible places. I want to save Israel, but our government has no intentions of doing so. That's clear to me. Again, it's all talk and no action. Israel will survive ONLY by the intervention of God at this point.
Let the Syrians slaughter each other like they've been doing for centuries. No outside interference will be able to stop it, and if any outsiders do get involved, like we did in Iraq, those outsiders will then become the target of all the warring factions. It is a lose/lose proposition. And our intervention into the Libyan civil war was a stunning "success," with the murder of our ambassador and three others showing just how grateful the Libyans were for our help. No, let them kill each other. It just means fewer radical Islamists we will have to fight at a later date or that will be around to threaten Israel. It's a win/win proposition for us the longer the Syrian civil war goes on and we don't have to lift a finger to see them become weaker and weaker as the months go by.

Uncle Sam says, "Fill it with water."

Dang it. Maybe I've just got Benghazi on my brain, but I think our criminal government has done enough over there already!!
Crap what a mess already. Christians are being slaughtered, the freaking UN is useless, Israel is most likely soon to be in the crosshairs if the al qaeda rebels take over, yet people are going to keep being slaughtered if Assad stays in. We need to support Israel, but damned if I want to see our guys involved over there while dear freaking leader and the rest of the brotherhood lovin' traitors are running things. They've done enough already.

According to Zero and his administration, they have just begun. Really, they're doing the world a favor. These Muslims have been killing each other off for centuries. I think he (Zero) can really advance that quicker and more efficiently. He's giving them the tools. The bad thing about it is that they also have a world domination complex, so nations like Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others stand in their way. They are angry that we and others are in the way. They want to eliminate their opposition, so that sidetracks them from their original task, which is to eliminate each other. We mustn't sidetrack them like they way we have been doing. It is right and just that Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others respond to the radically extreme elements of Islam when they throw one another over the ropes and onto the mats below. We simply respond by kicking and beating them and then toss them back into the ring...like a world lumberjack match. Then they can continue killing each other off. We can and should respond similarly in our country except we should just deport the mother-loving bunch back to whence they came so that they may continue to get killed off in droves. Sounds cold-hearted and calloused, I know. However, they have not really proven themselves to be lovers of other cultures but their own and they have not shown that they can cull the traitors from their midst and deal with them. So as long as they rape, pillage, maim, and murder; I will not feel sorry for them, nor will I give one shred of my support to them.
I frankly couldn't give a rip if they kill each other (I'll ask for forgiveness for that thought), same with the gangbangers (another request for forgiveness) just don't want any weapons used to kill the innocent or left behind to kill our men and women in uniform, or used against Israel.

There's so much to say here... but much of it has already been said and Scoop, you are 100% correct (as usual).
The bottom line is the new regime is Muslim (probably the Muslim Brotherhood with a little Al-Queda thrown in for good measure) and the Syrians are screwed.
