National Review brings us a video of a Vietnamese immigrant whose business has been closed down for two weeks thanks to the Occupy Wall Street protests:

Today I saw a side to the Occupy Wall Street protests which hasn’t been much reported — the impact on local businesses. A Vietnamese immigrant came up to me and, frustrated, asked me what the protesters wanted and when they would leave. He hasn’t worked for two weeks, he said.

The commie protest movement leadership are probably proud of themselves and their useful idiots for putting this “capitalist” out of business. While this guy is more like an example of whats right about the USA – people willing to work for a living. It may not be the most glorious occupation. But its an honest job to bring in some money. Thats the important part.

Not only is this adversely effecting the small business people in the area. It is also costing the tax payers a fortune because of the added security and law enforcement that has to remain on site. The cops must be making a fortune in overtime.

When business do not make money, they don’t pay taxes, or pay less in taxes. That will directly affect NYC and NYS tax coffers.

a man from a communist country asking what the hell is wrong with these people. LOL! They should all listen to him and his experiences to make them realize they are inthe best country and should be kissing the ground they walk on.

Isn’t it great? The non-productive protestors are shutting down the productive, hard-working people. The protestors represent the complete opposite of what Steve Jobs represented. A man who did not give up. Who endeavored to go after what he loved to do and because of his heartfelt efforts became a success. Due to Steve Jobs efforts and enterprise he created numerous jobs for those who wanted to put their nose to the grindstone and also succeed.

    Irony in it’s truest form.

They have nothing better to do, are blind to what is actually happening and don’t realize they are being used. To most of them it’s just a great big party that can occupy their worthless existence for a while. In the meantime honest people are paying the price for their stupidity.

    Well, someone there gets it.

Why do Anarchists fight for more government control? Mob mentality never ceases to amaze me. Hard work, determination and foresight are the only traits that these protestors lack. If they didn’t rely so much on their hearts to guide them, and let their brains sub in from time to time, they would realize how ridiculous they are.

Protests Against Wall Street Spreading Across the Country

    From the Associated Press:

Protests against Wall Street entered their 18th day Tuesday as demonstrators across the country show their anger over the wobbly economy and what they see as corporate greed by marching on Federal Reserve banks and camping out in parks from Los Angeles to Portland, Maine.

Demonstrations are expected to continue throughout the week as more groups hold organizational meetings and air their concerns on websites and through streaming video.

In Manhattan on Monday, hundreds of protesters dressed as corporate zombies in white face paint lurched past the New York Stock Exchange clutching fistfuls of fake money. In Chicago, demonstrators pounded drums in the city’s financial district. Others pitched tents or waved protest signs at passing cars in Boston, St. Louis, Kansas City, Mo., and Los Angeles.

A slice of America’s discontented, from college students worried about their job prospects to middle-age workers who have been recently laid off, were galvanized after the arrests of 700 protesters on the Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend.
Some protesters likened themselves to the tea party movement—but with a liberal bent—or to the Arab Spring demonstrators who brought down their rulers in the Middle East.

Read the whole thing here. Naturally, the leftists here are giving themselves too much credit. They aren’t trying to reform a spendthrift government or overthrow autocratic rule. They’re just looking for free stuff; free education, wages, jobs, health care, patchouli, etc. They will persevere while the weather is nice.

    • Anonymous

About them being angry that they have large college loans to pay….no one forced you to go to that college. Perhaps if you couldn’t afford the school you should have worked a little harder and applied for a “scholarship” or maybe…just maybe….go to a less expensive school….perhaps even a community college…dun dun dun!!!! Heaven forbid you try and do something with your degree besides pushing the name of the institution thats on it.

In war-torn America, there are two groups of people, the oppressors and victims and ironically the people that are getting all the breaks and freebies see themselves as victims…and the people that get stuck paying for their sorry A’s are the oppressors.

  • Anonymous

I went shopping this morning and was listening to a radio station out of Sarasota FL in my car. The DJ’s were talking about a rally that these groups were going to hold in Sarasota. You should have heard them talk about it. They were all for it. They said these people were representing them. They were laughing and joking about it but they were repeating everything they’ve heard about it like it was Woodstock.

This country is doomed. There really is no hope.

We are a very divided nation, are we not?

      • Anonymous

Not that divided – remember Nov 2, 2010 when real Americans pummelled
the liberal Democratic Party all across the US. Republicans picked up the House, 6 senate seats, 10 governorships and over 700 state legislative seats.
In 2012, we’ll finish what we started in ’10. Then the Democractic Socialist Party will lanquish in obscurity for 40 years. Go TEA Party !

        • http://escapingmediocrity.wordpress.com Natassia

In 2010, stupid liberals were still out there among us, but they couldn’t be bothered to show up at the polls.

Yes, unfortunately, it’s the civil war again.

        • http://escapingmediocrity.wordpress.com Natassia

I don’t think liberals like guns, let alone know how to shoot them. I don’t see much of a war on the horizon. :)

The challenge is that the left uses partial truths and then distorts it to manipulate the masses to further their agenda. Of course there are banks that have been greedy however the dumb sheep followers of the leftist don’t bother to look behind the curtain ( like in the wizard of 0z) to see who is running the banks…the government.

J, please don’t give up, prepare yourself and your family and gather with like-minded people.

It’s all part of Obama’s re-election campaign; but it could turn nasty and backfire on the establishment geniuses.

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

Like Barbara mentioned, this poor guy from a communist country wondering what’s wrong with these people. Many people who fled here from communitst countries are genuinely affraid. These sorry a$$ people marching and partying, most of them probably don’t have a clue of what they’re there for, it’s pathetic. Honest, hard working people getting shut down for what? A chance to get on TV so the world can see how much of a moron you are?
If this is how the half of American’s think- yes, we are doomed- but there’s no where else in the world to run to anymore.

    • Anonymous

My family is from a Communist country. They proudly came to America legally for freedom and opportunity and they identified obama’s agenda very early in the game.

The stupid kids and “useful idiots” toying with leftists and Communism have no concept of what they are dealing with….

However bad is it ABC, please don’t give up. You are not alone.

There is no reasoning with windup drones. They are just activated and they hit the streets chanting slogans they can’t explain. Will they ever have an intellectual awakening or will they go through life as political automatons?

Those people will not get three or four weeks of vacations. They have to go to work eventually again.

This emigrant understands Capitalism and freedom more than the supposed educated American protestors that don’t know what it is they want. He barely speaks english and appreciates our god given gifts better than some born here do.

“ONE WORLD” — UGH… George Soros influence much? PUKE.

Truth is we are all fed up with special interest groups aka corporations recieving better representation by our government officials than we the people are, but we have to get involved with this crowd rather making them seem as ALL hoodlums. The crowd consists all sorts of politicial parties and movements from all over the spectrum, the only thing that seperates them is the solution to which they believe can save this country.

There are those who believe BIG government can save us, that our government should be involved in regulating the market of labor and services.

There are those like myself that believe SMALL government in which the market itself determines the price of services and labor will save us.

Im not saying this is a revolution, but the way in which we handle economics is and must be changed, and as of today half of the country will not take kindly to an end of the welfare state, just like half of the country does not want BIG government.

    • Maxsteele

      Huh???

      • Anonymous

Be more specific. What is it that i said that confuses you?

    • Anonymous

But the issue is what do these people want?? What is the point of them being on Wall St?? To stop corporate greed?? What is the definition of corporate greed?? And guess what….it’s that corporations money. They can do with it as they please. If they want to give dividends to investors then so be it….thats why people invest….to get a return on their money, not to just give a company money for the heck of it. And which corporation should we start with to stop the corporate greed?? Apple?? I’m sure everyone would gladly give up their iPhones, iPods, iPads and Macs. No issue there. Next company…Sony…Nike…Virgin records….Dreamworks Ent…which corporation??

Everyone only thinks of banks and oil companies because that is what the main stream media pushes. There is no point to their Wall St “protest”. No one is really paying any attention anyways except people who are affected like the guy in the video above or those that walk past it on their way to work. They need to get a better message and an answer to a problem they see as opposed to just being out there saying “Wall St and corporations are all corporation-y and have all the money and don’t give any to me” becuase thats really what they are saying.

      • Anonymous

And i think the GOP could come in and show them that message. These people are upset about the bailouts, lets show them who is responsible for those bailouts. Lets explain to these people how socialism is a bailout. I understand their message is definitely skewed, but they have the right to be upset. Theyre upset because when the housing market collapsed because of the risky investments made by huge banks, those banks got bailed out and then used that taxpayer money to give themselves million dollar bonuses. The only reason conservative media is putting these people off is because their idea of a solution is socialism. They are simply misguided ignorant people, who need to be shown the right way to move forward.
