There’s a big difference between Birthers and Truthers

Ok, first let’s get this out of the way. Birthers and Truthers have one major commonality: they are politically very toxic. Both the Right and the Left are adamantly against either idea, so if you are a politician and you are reading this, don’t go down either of these roads. They are both dead ends and will potentially derail your campaigns.

That said, what we are talking about here is almost the difference of night and day. Birthers believe that Obama has not adequately proven his eligibility to be President by presenting before cameras his actual birth certificate. Truthers believe that the Bush administration killed 3,000 of its own people by planting bombs in the World Trade Centers and using “muslims on a plane” as a sideshow in bringing down the twin towers on 9/11. See, big difference.

I’ll be honest here. I empathize a bit with the Birthers because I simply don’t trust Obama. No, it’s not because he’s black. I distrust him because of the level of secrecy that he keeps on his past and on what he really believes. For example, there is much still hidden in regard to his college records from Columbia, Occidental, and Harvard and I don’t believe he ever released much in regard to his medical records. And then of course, there’s his socialist type agenda that he is pushing on our country. He wasn’t exactly honest about his intentions during the campaign trail. So if it turns out at some point that he is proven not eligible to be President, it won’t surprise me.

But yes, I do believe he is a citizen of the United States. To purse, at this point, whether or not he was born on native soil seems like a waste of time. After all, his replacements in the lineup are not attractive at all and everyone is content that this issue is settled.

Truthers, on the other hand, don’t get any sympathy or empathy from me. Sorry but I just can’t go there.

So when we are labeling the fringe of the political arenas, I’m just not sure that I can put Birthers on the same level as Truthers. There just seems to be too big a difference to me.
