On the lighter side of life this weekend, Tim Tebow was interviewed yesterday by CNN. He talked about his haters, dating, saving himself, politics, role models, etc.

What I love is that he refused to condemn his haters, even when CNN played Barkley’s words for him to hear again. And when asked what he’d be doing if it weren’t football, he was clear that football is just his career and that his heart is with his foundation.

Here’s the full interview:

Tim Tebow: Running For Office ‘Could Be Something In My Future’ http://www.mediaite.com/tv/tim-tebow-running-for-office-could-be-something-in-my-future/

    Tebow 20XX!!

I know many of them try this, but it seemed to me that every single question she asked tried to get him to say something controversial. I got the feeling that she hoped he would let something slip to reveal his downside.

Didn’t happen, ain’t gonna happen, slip back into TV obscurity (whoever she was). Tebow is the real deal and she should have talked more about his work off the field, which is amazing.

hey Tim, the “press” is NOT your friend….A+ bro, you handle those cameras and microphones with aplomb!

  • http://black-avenger-1.livejournal.com/profile VirusX

And yet, I’ll be willing to put money on the fact that the large majority of people that hate Tebow woudn’t say half the things they do say, to his face. That includes that worthless has-been Barkley, who distinguished himself as a poorly bred scumbag, during his forgettable career as a basketball player.

He listens to God and thus he loves these enemies, blesses those that curse him and prays for them that despitefully use him and persecute him…for his is the Kingdom of heaven. What a dear heart!

      Well said!

I love Tim Tebow. He lives his convictions and doesn’t back down to the media morons! I was really hoping he’d take them to the Super Bowl this year just to tick off the naysayers–a long shot, I know. I really, really wanted my beloved Saints to go back this year, too. I thought we had it! Oh well. Next year will be fine – it’s being played in the Dome.

As a father to four daughters, I can tell you that I woulld be BLESSED to have a son-in-law like Tim Tebow! Whats not to love about this boy! God is the absolute first in his life, followed by family and country. He is a young version of a male Sarah Palin as far as I’m concerned! This kid has his priorites right. I also have two sons. Are there any young Sarah’s out there?

    • Is_Sense_Common

Wow Gentleman… You musta been a busy dad! What a blessing to have 6 beautiful children.

      • Anonymous

Thank you my good friend! Yeah, it was pretty busy around here for a while! After a short (very short!) break, the Mrs. and I welcomed the first of our 14 grandchildren! Needless to say, we have to mortgage the farm every Christmas just to cover the presents! LOL!!

My daughter is still too young to date…but in five years she will be a sophomore at Hillsdale College in case your sons are still available :-)

      • Anonymous

It would be an honor sir! You are sending her to Hillsdale? Great choice! Your daughter is blessed to have you for her Dad.

I really enjoyed that. What nice young man this is. He won that newslady right over. She was almost gushing by the end of this. All smiles :-D

      “… almost gushing…”

      You noticed that too?

Tim said “God bless you all”…

I wasn’t expecting that sign-off addressed to the female interviewer.

Does “all” mean us viewers, too?

    Hmm.

I’ve often wondered about what is the “blessing” that is given and what is the “blessing” received when God is brought into the conversation?

Without getting too involved, what the givers of affection that is included in the “God bless you” statement “do” is draw out of the listener the “blessing of reciprocity” in a tacit “thank you, you too” that is simply “released” silently within the soul of recipients when they are given affection, love, support, etc., when God is brought into the conversation… even in a video.

People can’t get enough of this fine man because there aren’t enough fine men to get enough of.

    What a pleasure!

btw, whoever that was interviewing him was squirming in her seat a bit too much.. ;)

… as Tim Tebow is a shining example for us all , may God Bless him even more.”

  • Maxsteele

People of all faith should learn from this fantastic young man.

  • Is_Sense_Common

That, my friends, is a big man. Love that he is in a position to influence and model Christian values. Thank you Jesus for giving us voice in the wilderness.

    • Anonymous

      AMEN!!!!!

  • http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/ AmericanborninCanada

A lot of us could learn grace from this young man. He truly walks the talk- I pray I will get better at that myself. God Bless you Tim.

  • Anonymous

Tim doesn’t have to take a back seat to anyone. Thank god we have a man the can represent millions just like him. Unlike Tim they are the silent majority. My God continue to let Tim shine light on them.

I wish he could meet my daughter.

A class act all the way. God took some extra time making this guy.

  • DCGere

Class act…and who cares what Barkley says!

  • Anonymous

Tim Tebow is an outstanding young man. He is kind, well spoken and a good role model. May God continue to bless him and his family.

  • Anonymous

Class Act even if he went to Florida. War Eagle!

  • Anonymous

Great kid. He’s got some real moxy for a young guy. He’s a credit to his his parents.

  • Anonymous

Figures he would be interviewed by cnn. What a complete joke this interview is. This is the closest he will ever get to the Super Bowl. And he plays QB? He’s a joke of a qb.

    • Anonymous

And your record in the NFL is what??

      • Anonymous

And yours? Did I hit the Timmy tebone nerve or just maybe he is a lousy qb?

  • Anonymous

This is the second most important thing Jesus came to teach. Humility. May not sound that important to some but it is. With it you can change anything, without it you change nothing. Jesus was the great example of what humility can conquer. Tim has got it. Bravo kid. Thanks for helping us get that part of the message again. Even me, the foul mouthed, self absorbed dog I am sometimes.

Not a bad interview, but her attempt at tebowing was a bit weak.

  • Anonymous

Must have been a slow day to interview a second rate QB, when 2 great are playing today.

    • Anonymous

Maybe if you took the time to listen to the interview and think about what Tebow is saying your own life would turn around. Then you wouldn’t have to spend your time on blogs tearing other people down in a sad attempt to quell your own jealousy.

You may think Tebow is a second rate quarterback, but he’s a first-rate human being. Isn’t that what it’s all about in the end?

      • Anonymous

I could care less about tebone at all. He has zero effect on my life and he sucks as a qb. I don’t look to athletes for my inspiration.

        • KenInMontana

Four comments in a thread on someone you say has “zero effect” on your life, yeah.

          • Anonymous

Yea that’s right. Exactly. Anything else?

            • KenInMontana

Oh I could go further in depth analysis wise, but it would be a waste of effort and time. Suffice it to observe, if he matters so little to you why then do you bother to comment on the thread at all, unless your just trolling for a fight?

              • Anonymous

Ever hear of freedom of speech. I have nearly 1000 comments on trs so throw your trolling conspiracy out the window. You tebone butt kissers are worse than liberals with nobama.

  • bobemakk

He is a true role model just like the days of yesteryear when we went behing the dugout at a baseball game and got autographs for nothing and none of the sports figures ever got in trouble. Too bad there aren’t more Tim Tebows.

  • Anonymous

May G-d bless Tim Tebow, he is the real deal, that is, he is a genuine, Christian.

  • Anonymous

Why are you hating on Tim Tebow so much azjimbo? What’s the point? I bet you hate Christians. Something in you just can’t stand to hear a Christian speak his faith.
