I don't agree with anything Megyn Kelly said in this segment. Tancredo is right. Everything Obama is doing is to destroy America. He's definitely done more damage then Al-Qaeda just in the time he's been in office. I don't know why Megyn takes this tone with Tancredo. I think Glenn Beck has enough information just in crime inc that Obama (or most of his connections) should be in jail.

Megyn reminded me of Bill O'Reilly in that segment. When she read his statement I went DUH! Everything in that statement was true. Everything.

I want to know what she meant by Kyl backtracking on his statement about Obama. That's news to me. The last I read about it, Kyl defended what he said.

First of all Kelly is a lawyer and lawyers tend to be adversarial. However I really don't see that either one of them did a credible job of making their points. That said I agree the President has been derelict in his sworn duty to our Country and Constitution. He has made blatant attempts to render irrelevant,through his misuse of Executive Orders,the Congress and the Judiciary.His administration during the bankruptcy proceedings of GM and Chrysler subverted established bankruptcy laws.His lack of action on securing our borders and defending the sovereignty of the nation is another violation of his constitutional duties. Sadly the list goes on,however unless the balance of power in congress is drastically altered in the coming election,I don't see it happening.

Megan is a pretty sharp woman and their is no doubt about that at all. However this is one time she should listen. What former Congressman Tancredo is saying, is in my opinion, very true. Never in all my years have I even thought someone like this Kenyan could become President or even push through his ideology. This could not have happened without the support of many progressive socialist thinking Democratic Party members. The one good thing to come from all of this is that we know who they are now and hopefully vote them out in November. I am now convinced that there is no way the Kenyan can be re-elected if things remain as they are. Megan you need to listen a bit more.

Impeachment could be used as an arrow in the quiver, or to change the metaphor, as a smoke bomb.
Throw Obama off his game, even before November 2010, to galvanize opposition against Obamazation of America. In other words, throw even the kitchen sink at Obama to distract him.
Read Tancredo's at the Washington Times yesterday. He must have read my comments here a couple of weeks ago when I said that an impeachable offense is whatever the House of Representatives say it is.
Tancredo says is the last paragraph of page one…
“Mr. Obama's most egregious and brazen betrayal of our Constitution was his statement to Sen. Jon Kyl, Arizona Republican, that the administration will not enforce security on our southern border because that would remove Republicans' desire to negotiate a “comprehensive” immigration bill.

It's never too early to impeach a tyrant… or, at least, to start the conversation about impeachment of a tyrant.

For politically correct reasons (and for safety reasons which are apparent to anyone who has been around the past 20 years) it will never happen.
Even if it were my opinion that impeachment should happen, I think it would be wise for the sake of the country that it does not.
People are waiting for a perceived violation or injustice to trigger anarchy. Impeachment would cause riots if it were carried out successfully. There would be riots that would be instigated not only by outside communist and anarchist groups, but the media would aid in supporting their “rightful” claim of injustice.
It would destroy the country.
Unfortunately, IMO, we have to wait until the destroyer is gone unless he is caught speaking truly treasonous things on video, and even then, the media would provide enough cover to make it difficult.
Remember- everyone that supports Obama already thinks they're victims.

Ozzie, here's the point that I think you may be missing in the equation. They (the left. I.e. the prez, Reid, pelosi, Frank, etc) are ALREADY destroying the country. Every law, every regulation, every presidential order signed has been designed to overload and bring down the system that our forefathers put in place. They have steadily been eating away at it since woodrow wilson. Now they have a chance to ram it through in one massive wave, and they are doing just that.
And they have traitors and sycophants that are more than willing to barter away our freedoms for a handout, aplenty.
If they continue, we, as a nation, will fall. The riots will still happen, but if we control how and when, then we can, perhaps, clean out our house a bit and reset this great experiment. But if we let them do it, then we lose the momentum and the moral high ground. We may not be as successful then.
Blood will be spilled. There isn't any getting around it now. But I'd like to think that when (not if) it does happen, that it won't be for nothing. That when that tree of liberty is renewed again, the blood will be something that we can look back on with sad satisfaction for it will be the lesser of the evils.

Point taken- It is a point that I often forget. I think it's what makes the anger boil over sometimes and makes it feel hopeless at other times.
I understand that traditional conservatives are not alone and we are actually the majority, however, I would admit that the constant barrage of attacks by the media and just about everything else I see are effective.
I am optimistic when I am with like-minded people, but every time our politicians fail us it's like another knife in the back- and for now, our hands are tied.

Here's the problem. Up until last year, I was a 20 year Republican. I dropped them because I came to the conclusion that in way too many cases, the big government republicans that run the party are just as bad as the leftists running the Democratic Party. Look at what happened when the republicans had control of Congress. They increased the size and scope of government just as badly as the previous Democrat controlled one.
The only differences that I see is that the Republicans are content to make the changes more slowly.
Now we have a wind of change sweeping the country. And I'd be very happy about this except that there is the very real possibility that all it will accomplish is splitting the vote enough to insure the dems reellection.
You are correct that the damage to this nation will be immense. Quite probably it will be worse than anything we've known outside of the Revolutionary War and the war between the states. But at times, you have to allow a forrest to burn to allow for new growth. Or a field to allow for a new planting.
We may have reached that point here, as painful as that is to say.

Impeachment requires a majority in the House. The GOP won't have that until at least January, and perhaps not even then. Even if they do get a majority, you may find a whole bunch of them will realize that there's no way to 67 senators on board, so it will ultimately fail, therefor, why waste the time… when the best it can do is put Biden in? As for the worst it can do…
Think long term, because it sets a precedent. You may find that you'll one day have someone you approve of in the WH. And because enough others may perceive him to be assaulting the Constitution as originally written… even though Congress and the Courts have been expanding its original intent for centuries, that's just the way of progress, I'm afraid… your darling in the WH will be similarly impeached, having committed no crime not done and accepted by his predecessors.
Tancredo looks to the failure to secure the borders as an impeachable offense. Or perhaps it was the remark that he said Obama made, which it seems he didn't make, after all. Either way, Bush didn't secure that border either, and he knew in 2001 that we were at risk. Not just on 9/11. There was that PDB in August, that AQ was determined to strike within in the USA, and Bush knew then that thousands were coming across that border illegally on a daily basis.
Neither did Clinton (but that isn't what he was impeached for, oddly enough), although Clinton signed NAFTA into law. George H W Bush actually negotiated NAFTA and Congress ratified it, and NAFTA did more to make that border porous than anything else. Should they all be impeached? (I think I may know your answer to that… but who would be left to do it?)

Obama said that if he secures the border, there will be no incentive for GOP for immigration reform. This is really no more than an observation. It forms a basic part of the political negotiation that has gone on since the founding, and before. Obama's words, as reported by Kyl, do not actually include any statement that he refuses to secure the border.
I agree with Kelly's original statement to Tancredo. He's being ridiculous. And isn't it somewhat irresponsible to call for an impeachment on the basis of this?

I think impeachment was meant as a political “crowbar” to remove someone from office. It is definitely not a criminal proceeding, and the Senate is not a jury. To convict a President, is there any group less inclined to be impartial than the Senate? Who among them would not have a reason to either prop up the President or hold a grudge against him, or replace him with (when the procedure was first proposed) the President's most serious and recent rival for that office?

Tancredo is wrong about that it is the job of the federal gov't to handle immigration. The Constitution doesn't contain the word once. It does mention naturalization, but I've heard the founders meant something else than immigration with the use of that term.

Wow. I love Tancredo for his balls, but this is a fight that we don’t need right now. It’s not that I completely disagree with him, but really, we need all forces focused on winning in November. So why not save the rhetoric for a time when it might be possible.
