The United was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001 as we all know, right? So {2001} specifically is what I ask? Two thousand and one years A.D. {after death} of who? Jesus. Not Muhammad. No matter how they slice it or dice it, the calendar is based on our Saviors death not their so called prophet.

The problem now is the same as the one that happened in Vietnam. If we leave while the opposition is still a threat then the half of Afghanistan that sided with us will be slaughtered by their countrymen. The Afghanis knowing this are in no hurry to become trained to be able to ward off the Taliban. I mean why put their necks on the line when they have us to do it for them. This is why I believe they are trying to broker a deal with the Taliban that will leave them with some semblance of power in return for a promise of no retribution.
If we did up and leave and the Taliban committed reprisals then it would look like we abandoned our allies and then we would never get cooperation in the future from any other country should the need arise.
This is why it is dangerous to get into conflicts without a declaration of war and a clear objective because they always end up putting us in a lose lose situation.
We never should have stayed in Afghanistan as long as we have. We should have gone in there, killed (yes killed, NOT imprison or chase away) as many of the Taliban and al Qaeda that we could lay our hands on, we should have destroyed their bases and flattened their tribal strongholds, and then we should have just left. Set up a provisional government, people who actually wanted to rule Afghanistan with an iron grip, and then gone home with the understanding that if they ever, EVER, threatened the United States again we would turn their pathetic excuse for a "counrty" into a sea of glass with nuclear strikes. I'll bet you anything it would have not only convinced them to leave us alone, but we would have saved about 8 years of blood and treasure in fighting for that worthless country. It's what the British used to call a "Punitive Expedition," a tactic perfected by Lord Roberts of Kandahar, the last successful westerner to really win a war in Afghanistan. Time we start dusting off our history books and see how more successful people dealt with radical Islamic tribesmen.

We don't like the way the 'Tolly-Bonn' (as Obama likes to call them) does things and we don't like the way Karzai does things. Why don't we just pull our boys out now and let them shoot at each other instead of at our military?
In fact, let's pull out our military from all across the arab world, let them have their Caliphate, and then we will know just exactly where to dump all those excess nukes the liberals always say we have.
It seems like an easy and efficient solution to me.
Just reading the headline makes my blood boil! Benghazi and now this, why not just remove our colors and put up a white flag announcing to all our enemies that we are like the French when Paris was on the verge of attack.
We have an appeaser in the White House and spineless wonders in the Congress and fearers of media's opinion in the SC. Makes me wonder how we can even make it to 2014 in trying to fix this mess.
Once again Barack is aiding and abetting our enemies. Looks like its time for the treason charges.

Unfortunately this was always going to be the problem and as I watched all of the efforts of the US and Canada in the schools, etc. going for naught back in 2006, I stopped deluding myself about the logical outcome of this war. It should have been ended long ago and lives saved.
