As a senator he voted a few times against a law that medical care would have to be provided to babies born alive after an attempted abortion. He is such a hypocrite. Crying when those children were murdered in Connecticut! What about the ones that after being born alive! He voted in favor of putting them in the trash. I still can't believe that the American people voted for these monsters!

so they already have a law allowing it in the rare event that the mothers life is in jeopardy but I think in today's world that is a very very rare occurance (at least in our society with the medical technology we have now) and any time the mothers life is in jeopardy they are able to save both lives. Anyhow, so they already have that law and now he wants another law to say when there is a "risk to the mother"? What other risk could there be if not for her life and you already have a law for that?? All for the safety of the children unless that child is in the mother's womb. "Want to be protected from guns kids? You gotta make it out of the womb first!" unreal.
You are absolutely right, NCHokie - their description of "mothers life in jeopardy" is pretty vague. Under this current president, you can get on disability for depression and anxiety, so the whole thing is open to interpretatioin of what the mother or doctor considers to be a risk....risk of cramping her lifestyle....risk of her not being happy to be a mom????
This is a volatile and contentious subject but the thought of a late term abortion turns my stomach. All pregnancies can present a possible risk to the Mother! Follow through with the pregnancy and seek God's strength to see it through to the end.

Yes, people should know better than to start. Showbusiness and success and too much money can change people, with too much stress, and too many hours, and first thing we know, someone introduces them to drugs for this and drugs for that. Then they're hooked, and spend a fortune while destroying their families and their own lives. Why are drug dealers given a pass? Who in the media ever talks about the drug pushers? What politician ever campaigns to pass a Bill to charge drug dealers with poisoning the cells of the brain? When brain cells cannot function, it cannot control any part of the body for proper operations and healings. This is the devil's poison and is as dangerous as poisoning people with arsenic.
It should be easy to find those low life, living off the avails of illegal drugs, and prostitution which destroys families, and leaves children stranded and having to cope with psychological trauma at such a young age.
Mindy McCready was a tremendous talent, and so healthy when she began her career. The thugs who fed her poison turned her into an unhealthy, aged woman with huge brain dysfunction. They should get the death sentence, and their possessions confiscated, sold, and the funds put in trust for the children. Mindy had two sons. Her husband also committed suicide. What a tragedy.

Wait a second there....I have a beautiful young 23 year old daughter who by the way is busy with her career and not even thinking of marriage much less a family. BUT....if her life was threatened in any way due to a pregnancy...my daughter comes first. You know why? Because that IS my baby! She still is my precious little girl I brought home from the hospital with 23 wonderful years of memories. No way will I let anything happen to her...no way! I do not believe in abortion but if there is only one life to save...well I already made my choice. You people make the choice you want, but have some common sense.

The Tea Party has organized a "Day of Resistance" for Sat. Feb 23, ....but the closest one to me is 5 hours away. for those of you interested, you can find out where one might be near you. We should support this rally if possible, even if you don't consider ourself a Tea Party Patriot. Just opposing everything that is going on now is enough said!
Ok, I haven't read any comments, but I will pose this question; what doctor in his right mind would allow a woman to endure the painful act of labor if she was at risk?
Think about it, a partial birth abortion is one in which the woman giving birth goes through the entire process of labor then at the end of hours of painful labor, just as the child is about to take its first breath, the doctor (I use that term lightly) takes over and does his nasty deed. Now, if this woman was truly at RISK, any doctor in his right mind would proceed with a C Section before even allowing the woman to go through the normal vaginal birthing process.
There is never a time for a "Partial birth abortion" to take precedence over a C section, in an "at risk" pregnancy, NEVER!

I totally agree, have never been able to figure that out myself. By the time the baby is thru the birth canal, the hard work of delivery has been done and the baby is pretty much born, so why at that precise time do they intend to do their dastardly deed? A C-section is definitely the answer if there truly is a "risk" for the mother...........
And the medical profession is now able to bring people back from the brink of death! As an R.N. for many years, I really can't come up with a scenario to fit this crime.
