Don't you have a more intelligent-looking picture of Matthews than that? It doesn't do him justice.
Of course Keystone was a big jobs creator. But Obama had to appease his enviro-Nazi base, people who would rather live in mud huts instead of the world's most powerful nation. So tell me all you big union supporters out there, how's it feel having a knife stuck in your back by your own Messiah? Because most of those Keystone jobs were going to be union jobs and now they're gone. Unless, of course, you wise up and vote for Romney, who will probably approve of the Keystone pipeline the first day he's in office. If the unions are smart, they will cut their losses with Obama and vote for Romney, who will at least help union members get jobs, like the Keystone pipeline.
I wonder how much Matthews worries about the environmental cost of his CO2 and methane (farts) emissions. I've never heard him talk about how he compensates for them.
Matthews - did you, again, get another thrill up your............................uuup yours.
If you are mentally sick, why not to ask for help?
Oh, you did..... Really, nobody can help you?
Find a piece of rope.
Rush, right now, is talking about Booker, Clinton and many more being taken to the woodshed and very quickly reversing their anti-Obama statements. He's speculating on just what is in the woodshed.
Seems to me that soon he'll be generating a few shovel ready jobs building a bigger woodshed.
Blocking the pipeline is just the tip of the iceberg. Think blocking LNG plants from exporting gas to Japan, think blocking new construction of coal fired power plants, think
halting coal mining, think killing copper mining in Arizona/New Mexico, etc. etc. He
(Obama) has a real "hate on" for job creation and at the behest of his environmentalist supporters.
I'm surprised that Matthews spoke out against obama. Maybe Matthews and other previous obama supporters are starting to wake up.
Well, gee, I'm shocked at what came out of Matthews mouth.
I'm really wondering if the Democrats are trying to dump Obama?
NO! The Democrat party no longer exists. It's been taken over by the progressives and extreme left. Those Democrats having second thoughts are holdovers from a previous era.
But notice his focus - Obama. Blocking Keystone was bad for the US. That part doesn't go on Matthews's radar at all. Obama could destroy us, but as long as Matthews can find a way to spin it, then that's all right.
True, c.
obama cares about America to the extent that the people can give him the power and our money that he thrives on...
Nooooooo! Don't make me agree with Chrissie Matthews. It will spoil my whole day. Here, maybe I can salvage it. Don't move, Chrissie. I am about to give you a trickle down your backside.
Obama has been dismissing America for his whole term... face the truth Chris... Obama is a fraud and should be impeached. Say those words and reconcile with reality.
Obama says he cares about jobs... But that's one letter to many... He cares about HIS job. His keystone blocking denied at least 20 THOUSAND jobs and the needed boost to the economy it might have brought. He did this to placate his liberal base. He no longer has any credibility (*not that he had any to begin with*).
My understanding is 20-25K jobs directly and close to 100K sinoffs... that's not chump change!
Even if the pipeline gets built, we'll still have to pay market price for the oil instead of the discounted price that our trade agreement with Canada called for. The fact that an American President actually said "no" to this project was a huge wakeup call for Canadian politicians. They are a captive seller, meaning we are their only customer. That will now change, and we'll have to pay world market prices as Canada scrambles to open access to new markets now that America has proved it can be an unreliable customer.
The damage has been done and no rational politician on that side of the border would work with America on the same terms ever again, regardless of who is in office.
Actually, it is being built, with the exception of the portion that would cross the Canadian border. Individual States are going ahead with sections on their own, the Bakken is booming due to States taking it on their own initiative in spite of the Feds. They are hiring construction workers of all trades out there, to get infrastructure of all manner in place, housing, roads, etc. The entire region is so sparsely populated old ghost towns are being resurrected to provide housing, towns are scrambling to upgrade their own infrastructure to deal with the expanding population. The reason this is going on in spite of the Federal government's efforts is that the land is predominately privately owned, the rest are State lands as the Feds never felt the area was worth grabbing up. The pipeline will be needed to get the oil to the refineries and on to the marketplace, there has been talk about extending the Yellowstone pipeline east from the Billings area (there is a refinery located just west of there in Laurel) to the Bakken. A lot of the news about what is actually happening out here doesn't benefit Zero's administration, so most of it is being ignored by the mainstream. Why? Because it shows that we don't need them, we have a long history in flyover country of rolling up our sleeves and getting the job done ourselves, pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps. People out here learned long ago that if you wait for the Feds for help, you may as well start digging your grave.
Case in point, we had massive snowfall out here in about 2009 (there abouts), it was measured in tens of feet, drifts as high as 30 feet covering highways in the Dakotas and Eastern Montana, cleared away by State and Local crews, with a lot of help from private companies and individuals all with no help from the Feds. Because the Guard units had been Federalized for Iraq and Afghanistan they were not available for the States. The nanny state doesn't like self reliance so it gets ignored by the media, because it doesn't dovetail with their narrative. When the eastern cities got hit so hard a year or two ago, we just kind of shook our heads while watching people clamoring for Federal "help", and the media was all over it because they like to show that the people are helpless and need the "helping hand" of the Feds, we'll pass on that thanks, but no thanks.
I would suggest to anyone out there looking for employment to look into it. There are far worse places to live and work.
If I were younger, I'd sure consider working the oilfields. Looks like the Wikipedia article on the pipeline is a decent primer on what phase(s) it's in.
For folks who are curious, oilfield and pipeline work is genuinely hard work, and a lot of folks wash out. Can't take the isolation, weather, long hours, or harsh supervisory environment (ie, you do NOT want to screw up or work too slow). Pay is evidently anywhere from around $20/hr to $45-$60/hr (probably including extras like O/T, and only for the best welders and drillers). Either way, it's good money for hard work that keeps you away from home for months at a time.
Because of that last fact, there are ...camp followers. This means marriages have to be very solid to survive the job.
Yep. The lawyers and title people make a really good living from it, too. Top Oil and Gas geologists make a really nice living at it, though they tend to work in-house for one of the oil companies. It's amazing how many people are involved in one well and related pipeline these days, compared to the pre-fracking era.
Plenty of other fields of employment as well, construction, civil engineers as well as all manner of supporting industries. I would advise those looking to do some homework first rather than just packing up and heading in blind, most that do that don't last their first winter.
Donald... you are absolutely right. And straight from Stephen Harper's mouth no less. God bless him... and he loves Israel too! Even conservative Americans missed this item... a hard slap in the face to Americans... but not a slap in the face as insult, but a slap in the face to a drug addled, Obama addicted electorate who have yet to clue into the fact that Obama is leading them to hell.
This item on world prices charged by Canada was scarcely picked up in America. That's how bad the Obama shilling consensus media is.
Glad to see you "Canuckians" (meant affectionately) have a guy with some "stones" in office for a change. ;)

Hopefully we'll get some in November.
Yes but.... Harper's a big spender like Bush was. So Canada's smooth ride of conservatism is intermingled with the wrenching fits and starts caused by progressive interference from within the conservative ranks. We call them CINOs here.
Good points, da.
I think of obama as the kenyan that sits on the seat of the presidency in our country.
"Lack of Leadership," is THE description of Obama's first and hopefully only term!
I still think he will try to resurrect Keystone if he thinks he needs to do so to win.
The liberals remind me of the old Three Stooges bit where the boys are shoveling dirt on each other to get out of a hole. Only with the libs, it isn't dirt...
What will he, and his ilk, do after Obama?
In Matthews case... drink more than he already does.
Maybe he's trying to play cleanup after that woman made her appearance? In any case, these leftists don't know what in the heck to say anymore in defense of their marxist in chief.
