I can see it got out of hand but I really don't see this as that bad. They're going to get guns anyway. You get one off the street and there's another one there tomorrow. Might as well track them. Now I do think people acted on their own. But this has been going on since 2005. The guy want's to come out now I wonder why? We can call a spade a spade. There is conspiracy on both sides of this thing. Close it down and find a new solution.
They weren't given a chance to read it. The Pelosi congress only released the bill at midnight (or something like that) the next day was the vote.

I guess Holder had no idea it was there and is Quoted on the page “This funding is vital to keeping our communities strong,” said Attorney General Eric Holder. “As governors, mayors, and local law enforcement professionals struggle with the current economic crisis, we can’t afford to decrease our commitment to fighting crime and keeping our communities safe. You've got a 800 billion dollar bill, you're going to easily overlook the 10 million dollar program in it. Especially when it's something you've never heard of and have no idea what it's going to do. The Rs were busy fighting the stimulus as a whole and it would have been nearly impossibly to mount a case against Gunrunner at that time when it was costing a whole 10 million out of the 800 billion and no one would have had any clue as to what it was or would eventually be. No one would have listened even if they did catch it.
I'd wager that no one at the time thought to ask, "Just what,exactly, is this Gunrunner thing?"
Well, we had to pass the bill to find out what was in it.
Every single idiot who voted for the stimulus should be thrown out of office for not doing their job. The only "real" responsibility that they have, the reason they are elected, is so they have the time to read the legal documents and represent us.
Yeah but even when the GOP does warn us, like with Obamacare, they are ridiculed....we need to vote more tea partiers into office and kick the progressives out
So, if the people are to believe that Congress wrote the bill, and the POTUS read it, then how could either claim they did not know about it? This is complete incompetence and a tacit admission that they are not only NOT working in the peoples' best interest, but, at worst, are deferring their job to some outside organization and could care less about details of the legislation they dump on Americans and sign into law.
Making laws that everyone else has to live by, and then not knowing what's in the bill should be an impeachable offense.
This is but another nail in the coffin of the obbamma administration. The closer we get to the election, I believe that others in different agencies will be opening up to disclose other improprieties in order to save their own Arse's.
When the anointed one was elected, many in good faith followed blindly on the
"hope and change express" and now they see that they were bamboozled, and are now starting to feel the stress of being involved in the destruction of our great country.
In time, we the people will have an accounting for all the underhanded policies that have been enacted, and WE DAM SURE BETTER HOLD SOMEONE ACCOUNTABLE!
