These are great comments. I have been deeply saddened and disgusted at the way she's been treated! The very people mocking and slamming her are the same people who live lives filled with all sorts of immorality. But, the difference is that she is a self-professed Christian. And most of her “enemies” are people who hate Christians and do not understand or accept Christianity.
Non-Christians simply do not understand God's grace and the message of the Cross. They falsely believe that Christianity's message is live a life of good works and if you blow it, you're a hypocrite. We must understand God's grace. Yes, Prejean messed up. Maybe she's lied, maybe she's this, maybe she's that. I don't know, but whose sin is worse? Her indiscretions or our condemnation of her?
Whose sin did Jesus condemn when the adulterous woman was about to be stoned? Who did Jesus show compassion to? Those throwing the stones or the shamed woman?
And why is it that we humans can take such delight in condeming someone. I have read some of the most mean, cruel, hard-hearted things about Prejean, and it has caused me to shudder as I think, “Wow, what have we become as a society when people are simply tabloid fodder whose every secret will be found out, displayed nationally, and gossiped about as the person is slandered, mocked, berated, and condemned.”
Prejean never had any idea that her pagent run would lead to this. God has plans for her and can bring good out of this, but I can only imagine the emotional pain she must feel. I think we need to keep her in our prayers. One of my favorite old-time Christian hymns had lyrics that said, “They will know we are Chrsitians by our love….” The world hates. The world mocks. The world is prideful and arrogant and slanderous. We, as Christians, ought to embrace Carrie as a sinner, love her, and not treat her as the world does.
No, it doesn't mean we deny the sin, but she is obviously ashamed and repentant. She is not taking delight in her sins. We aer all sinners. Only our sins haven't made headlines like Prejean's. We should be grateful they haven't because what she has been through, IMO, has been something I am not sure I would've been able to endure.

And I think we need to pray that her tapes and alledged photos are never made public!!

I know many Christians out there will no doubt be quite offended at that fact that Carrie Prejean sent a ‘sex tape’ to her boyfriend when she was a teenager. In fact, it wasn’t a sex tape per se, but Carrie never really tells exactly what it is and I don’t blame her. She said was young and in love and it was the biggest mistake of her life.
What most people will say is ‘how can she be a Christian and make lewd tapes of herself for her boyfriend’s pleasure? Well, here’s the deal, and it’s the thing that most non-Christians don’t understand: Christians aren’t perfect and won’t be perfect until Christ comes back. I love how people talk about the horrible things in the Bible as if to disparage Christianity because there were a lot of horrible people in the Bible who did horrible things. How in the world could King David, who stole Uriah’s wife and then sent him to the front lines and ordered the troops around him to back off and let the enemy kill him, how could he be a Christian, or more succinctly, why would God love such a man?
But that’s the whole point. If people were perfect and could please God perfectly just out of the ‘chute’, then we would have no need for God to intervene on our behalf. But the fact that we all deserve Hell for our sinfulness is the very reason we need God. We are horrible people in need of a Savior. The bottom line is that being a Christian isn’t about how many good works you can do or how perfectly you live your life, it’s about who you know. And when I say the word know, I mean really knowing Him, as you would know your spouse.
Carrie is no doubt ashamed of her tape, but I am certain that she understands God’s forgiveness in her life and has moved on. So before you hold it against her, remember the sins of your own life. Or as Jesus said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” After all, it’s not like she is still making them.
