Tyrants do not like to be challenged by ANYONE, including Bob Woodward. People like Woodward expose what tyrants, like obama, are doing and if Woodward knows then he'll spill the beans to the rest of us, and we won't like the tyrant any longer. Bad Bob!!!!

Bob Woodward, of all people, was threatened by a Democrat White House. So where are his defenders? Where are the new hipster reporters of the left to defend him? This is serious stuff. When the elder statesman of the industry that guards the First Amendment is threatened by the White House, it marks a dangerous turn. When other “reporters” join in, it is even more dangerous.

Now Ron Fournier of the National Journal is piling on. Let's go. I want that punk Dumb-Ø to finally get that azz kicking he so justly deserves.
The official angered by my Woodward tweet sent me an indignant e-mail. “What’s next, a Nazi analogy?” the official wrote, chastising me for spreading “bull**** like that” I was not offended by the note, mild in comparison to past exchanges with this official. But it was the last straw in a relationship that had deteriorated.
As editor-in-chief of National Journal, I received several e-mails and telephone calls from this White House official filled with vulgarity, abusive language, and virtually the same phrase that Politico characterized as a veiled threat. “You will regret staking out that claim,” The Washington Post reporter was told.
Once I moved back to daily reporting this year, the badgering intensified. I wrote Saturday night, asking the official to stop e-mailing me. The official wrote, challenging Woodward and my tweet. “Get off your high horse and assess the facts, Ron,” the official wrote.
You know, Bob Woodward never actually said the comment was a threat, although words like "I think you will regret staking out that claim" can easily be considered a veiled threat.
If you go back and listen to both the Blitzer interview and the Politico interview, Woodward correctly makes the statement of what was in the e-mail without saying it was an actual threat. He does say that it 'bothers' him to have that comment thrown his way.
Usually these scenarios go like this: First, the White House denies the threat was made and shows the alleged e-mail (which they have already done), then the perpetrator of the e-mail gets re-assigned and we don't hear from him again, then Obama says the incident was handled properly (as he stepped in and saved the day as is his nature) and will never happen again (after stating that he knew nothing about it in the first place).
I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they inserted the phrase "but as a friend" into the sentence to lessen the seriousness of it. Of course Woodward, being an Obama man, will never disclose his copy of the e-mail with the missing phrase and therefore his White House access will be restored and all will be well in the kingdom of Obama once again.
If I'm not mistaken, Woodward will be on Hannity tonight and if so, you should hear more about the actual conservation where National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling viciously verbally assaulted on Woodward's op-ed.
The emails are part of a liberal journalist and Sperling made nice to protect their relationships - we can't have progressives Obama aides attacking a progressive journalist.
We need to be honest here.
Woodward and Lanny Davis are leftists and are a part of the same MSM/LSM that enabled, encouraged, and abetted socialist dogma, also known as LIES.
That same MSM/LSM is now doing what leftys do best, whinning about being unfairly treated by the Obama WH. It appears that they don't like it much when THEY are the targets of Obamas ire.
The media, joyfully in the tank for their 'demi-god' obama, are beginning to experience their share of backstabbing and bullying from the feckless and dishonest Obamanation machine.

Well, WH which is it!? Boy, this administration sure knows how to bring the axe down. What a bunch of Crooks they are - the whole lot of them!
It would have been nice if Bob recorded the conversation. If this exchange posted in the politico is true it sounds like a veiled threat IMO.
If the portrayal of Woodward was accurate, not only did he record that conversation, but all others involving the WH and this would-be dictator.
As the incompetence of the Obama regime increases, more and more former Obama advocates and cheer leaders will jump ship. Obama truly has no idea what he is doing, except he is happy it is destroying America. Trouble is he only wanted to destroy white America not his black brothers' and sisters' America as well.
Hard to imagine what and how much more Emperor Narcissus can do in the next four years?? Downright scary.
Come on, Woodward gives the guy cover and actually says it's okay. You get wound up because you are making your points and you believe them. This is all part of a serious discussion. I for one welcome a little heat; there should more given the importance.
I just wish Woodward paid as much attention to Benghazi, a real cover up and scandal, as he did in Watergate. This whole thing about the sequestration and who said what when is all a waste of time compared to Benghazi. There you had four dead Americans, a destroyed American consulate, the first murdered US ambassador in over 30 years, and an obvious coverup with a White House representative going on five talk shows trying to blame all of this on a video, rather than a terrorist attack. I think THAT is a little more important than being "threatened" by somebody at the White House. The Benghazi story, if anybody bothered to really investigate it, probably makes Watergate look like peanuts. After all, nobody died in Watergate. Here you have four dead Americans and an administration's attempt to cover it up. Now THAT is a story!
Any time a leftie comes out against Obama, or Biden comes out with a new gaffe, or some trivial matter explodes in the LameStream, I'm reminded to watch the other hand.
Is this just a diversion from the sequester or is there something else going on that we haven't heard about that Obama is about to sneak into the news on this Friday afternoon news dump?

The Obama administration frequently harasses and yes even threatens those who deviate from Dear Leader's socialist agenda and liberal talking points. Barack Obama is a bully quite frankly and if he doesn't get his way he sics his underlings on those who oppose him or his agenda. Including Bob Woodward or anyone else who challenges the Obama administration's dubious policies.
The Obama administration is perhaps the most corrupt body of government in American history. Obama and his cohorts repeatedly lie to the press and to the American people. The Obama administration is probably the least transparent of any White House administration going back to the founding of the country. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. is undeniably corrupt and basically refuses to prosecute minorities and according to Congress he is a "criminal" after being held in criminal contempt by Congress over the Fast & Furious debacle. The Obama administration if full of shady people who want to "control" the American people. As on astute blogger noted:
"The Obama Administration is actively advocating socialist tyranny by imposing the Marxist/progressive ideology of collectivism, state control, central planning and redistribution. Now the freedom of the press is being threatened. It really is unprecedented what Barack Obama is doing to this country."
Many in the Obama administration hail from the south side of Chicago where corruption and thuggery are commonplace. Chicago style politics heralded by Marxist Saul Alinsky (Obama's mentor) are being administered by Barack Obama and his infamous band of thugs and the result is a "despotic" administration whose goals and agenda are detrimental to the United States of America. If the American people don't WAKE UP soon the United States could become a mirror image of Venezuela and/or Russia and wannabe dictator Barack Obama will have fulfilled his promise to "fundamentally transform" America from the ground up. Which is all the more reason for Congress to impeach Barack Obama before he accomplishes his destructive goal(s). Nuff' said.
Actually, there is meat in there, the fact that Gene needs to apologize more than once for what transpired in their phone conversation indicates Gene may have indeed crossed the line and threatened Woodward. Saying "you will regret" is also a way of threatening...just ask the mafia and labor goons. He is also fairly verbose (trying too hard, too many words), which could be seen as trying to walk back something.
While I am not an English major, Gene isn't a very good writer...
"I agree there are more than one side" should be "is" more than one side, "one side" being a singular unit, not plural.
The WH is just following the blueprint NObama brought where he learned that threatening and intimidation are just part of the job of a "community disorganizer."

This administration is full of communist bullies who punish their enemies in a most severe fashion. You will NOT call out the dictator-in-chief on anything, at any time. Period. Narcissists like Obamna can't handle any sort of disapproval by anyone. He is surrounded by yes-men and sympathetic handlers who suck up to him while taking the blame for everything that goes wrong. Coming just one day before the 1st anniversary of the death of Andrew Breitbart, this is all the more chilling. It makes Nixon's "enemies: list pale in comparison to the threats, thuggery and gang mentality in Washington today.
I hope the tift continues and Woodward reads the email sent to him, and announces who the signature on the message is.
This is intimidation the Obama way; shower the subject with accolades and niceties while making it clear there are consequences to their decisions. This stinks to high heaven!
Yeah Hippy, it goes something like this: You know Bob, you're America's greatest living reporter and have been a patriot, and we wish you to remain so. Of course that depends entirely on how you conduct yourself in the future. We have kept an eye on all those who've supported the President and we hope we can continue to keep you in that role.

What really bothers me is that Gene Sperling was yelling at Woodward for a half hour...What's wrong with these people??? Emotions rule your conduct at the White House? Hope you're far away from the red button.

Since the very beginning of Obama's presidency, denials by the White House on almost every subject have become so commonplace, that any trust placed in this president, admin, and WH has been lost forever.
How can one trust a government that governs through lies, and the denials of those same lies?
I have come to the conclusion that there are no leaders in the WH, nor are there leaders in Congress. Instead we have two factions attempting to RULE, not lead.
Most days I am reminded of wee children fighting over who gets to slide next on the playground!
