Who’s fault is it that Turkey is going it’s own way? BOOOOOOOSH!

Yes, you heard right. It was the Bush administration who didn’t handle our relationship with Turkey very well that’s caused them to move away from the West and do their own thing, like sponsor terrorist flotillas to provoke Israel and such. Turkey is like a spurned lover:

Turkey’s Islamic movement barely gets a mention by Zakaria, only to suggest that it makes Turkey ideologically strong. But that IS the problem. Unless you’ve had your head in the sand, you probably know that there is an Islamic movement that has been going on in Turkey for years to move it from a secular state to a Muslim state. What fuels this movement, according to Walid Shoebat, is the desire to reinstate the Islamic Caliphate in Turkey that was lost when they became a secular state.

In my opinion, this is the very reason they have engaged Israel through the flotillas. This is a dangerous movement that is shifting their view on foreign policy to one that is anti-Semitic in nature. And for Zakaria to ignore this shows his obliviousness to what is really going on or his bias for Turkey, Islam, or something. Either way its pretty pathetic.
