If you look at the numbers, the majority of college graduates (read: the most literate) in this country voted for President Obama.

Unfortunately for Wolf, he was interviewing a new Senator who is extremely intelligent and very articulate in voicing conservative principles. Ted Cruz has a great future in the Senate and will eventually be on a Republican ticket as a VP nominee. This man is talented and very impressive and thus, it would not surprise me if he's the first Hispanic to be nominated to run for President as a Republican - and he will win.
Yet I'm sure when this occurs, Wolf will insist that Democrats must NOT

As far as immigration goes, the party as a whole needs to stand firm and say that not one "Immigration Bill" gets one Rep vote until the border is secure!
Bill 1: Secure the border
Bill 2: Reform the current immigration system so that legal immigrantion takes months, not years. Also, make sure we enforce penalties on those people who have expired immigration status, and make the process to renew status more efficient.
Bill 3: This won't be popular, but there needs to be some kind of penatly for those who are here illegally, and then once that requirement has been fulfilled, they can be granted a legal status, but NOT citizenship.

Those bills are still going to have to be paid, and what you're forgetting is that the government has just permitted itself to spend even more money with absolutely no spending cuts / fiscal restraint at all. Temporary tax cuts are nothing but a postponement on paying for future obligations.
As for my comment, I made it in reference to Wolf Blitzer saying that people shouldn't be "overly idealistic" and that they "have to compromise". It was more of a general comment about the notion that one 'must' compromise with the Left.
Don't fool yourself into thinking that just because the Democrats give some tax cuts to their favored 'voting bloc' that they actually care about liberty; unlike Republicans do when they advocate tax cuts for the purpose of advancing the cause of liberty. The only thing Democrats care about is advancing the cause of tyranny; everything they do is geared towards this end; they'll fool a lot of useful idiots in this process.

I didn't watch the video. I would probably get too frustrated. However I would have like Cruz to tell Wolf. "No I don't need to bend to Obama's will because the House was re-elected Republican (unfortunately not conservative though) and the House controls the money. Not the executive branch."
He then should have given Wolf a school lesson in how the three branches of government work since they obviously have no idea. "Obama won! He can do what he needs to." Ummm....no he's not a dictator. I know he doesn't really care about the Constitution but that is the law of the land and what he needs to follow.
Blitzer gives me a swift pain. Did the Democrats roll over and die in 2004 when Bush was re-elected? Not on your life. Not only did they become more liberal, they refused to work with Bush on just about everything. And guess what happened? They won the House back in 2006 and then the White House in 2008 with a very liberal candidate. Wolf is full of it. Now, more than ever, do conservatives need to stand for something so that Americans can have a clear choice in 2014 for something different. THAT is how you win. Listen, dipwads. After the vote for the last debt ceiling increase, Obama got his money and all we got was a promise to cut spending...to be determined by the super panel. What did the Dems do in that panel? They did a turnabout and refused to cut anything, demanding to raise taxes instead...leading to a deadlock going nowhere. Now, to avoid the fiscal cliff that resulted from the lying-ass Democrats who deadlocked the super panel, Republicans gave Obama his tax increases and increased spending, and Obama didn't cut a single freaking thing. Oh, the cuts...ONCE AGAIN....is just a promise for down the road.
Democrats are a bunch of lying snakes. Obama is the one refusing to work with Republicans...it's his way or the highway. Additionally, Dems not only didn't work with Bush when he was President, they worked to sabatage him constantly. So don't tell me that we have to work with Obama because he won the election. We maintained control of Congress...which means Republicans are in charge of the money.....not Obama. They just need to get a backbone and tell Obama he's not getting another dime until he agrees to massive spending cuts that take effect IMMEDIATELY...not at some imaginary time in the future.
I'm a Democrat. I agree that we need to cut spending, and I think that Obama will address this issue. If he doesn't we as a nation will have problems in the future (he knows this).

I hope you are right and that Obama will address spending cuts. I just don't see it. All I've seen the Dems want to do is spend, spend, spend. I don't want to see "we'll cut spending over the next decade" because it doesn 't happen.
That in itself is going to be a major battle. Republicans and Dems alike will probably go after social security instead of big government. People call that an entitlement and I disagree. People pay for it their entire lives, so they damn well deserve to collect their own money back when they retire. I want them to go after pensions and bloated government salaries. But that's an argument for another day.

The problem, Wolf (can I call you Wolf?), is that this ain't 1976 any more. We aren't talking about an increase in the budget for the Navy, versus more animal-free testing for cosmetics. We're here in 2013, and much of the world, including our President, wants us to be taken down a notch. In short: to be damaged; to have OUR CITIZENS pay the price for some supposed wrong. A wrong, by the way, that has been incurred many times by many other countries since long before the US was born. But let's not let mere histoire get in the way of a good narrative.

Wolf Blitzer and the liberals throughout America have a grievous misconception of the place that Obama occupies. Mr. Blitzer told Senator Cruz that he has to compromise because Obama was re-elected. The misconception is that one group of people (those who voted to keep Obama in office) is more important that another group of people (those who voted to replace Obama with another candidate of their choice.) To Blitzer, the minority is inconsequential. Obama was not issued a “mandate” per se, but should have smelled the coffee by the narrow margin of his victory and the number of GOP nominees for the houses of Congress who were elected. These folks were elected by a majority in their districts and feel they are every bit as important as those who re-elected Obama. Our system of “checks and balances” were not emplaced for show. It exists to prevent – or reverse – what has in fact been happening here of late. Obama has used his executive pen and scathing words to issue executive orders and executive dressing-down of our congressmen and women. To be sure, he is not their parent, nor is he their boss! His position is merely as the coordinator for the government through which the administration of the government is to operate per the rules, regulations and law set down by Congress. It would be very easy for a house of Congress to strip away any authority the president may believe he possesses and place him in the corner to think about his misconduct. Mr. Blitzer is in grave error if he thinks that Congress should not compromise simply because Obama was re-elected. In fact, the congressional make-up remains as it is because the same people re-elected that make-up. That is the bottom line.
We shouldn't compromise if it makes the situation worse. I hope Cruz goes to DC and raises hell the entire time he is there. Too many get to DC and immediately get corrupted. I hope he doesn't. And Blitzer and CNN are oblahmah backers any way. They don't care how much he hurts the country, they are squarely in his corner. All the evil little minions stick together.
