Woman claiming rape and torture dragged away by Libyan officials

**UPDATED: MORE VIDEO**

This is a very upsetting report by Sky News of a woman who came to their hotel in much distress to tell them she had been raped and tortured by Libyan officials. She didn’t get that far before Libyan officials pulled a gun on Sky News, dragged the lady away kicking and screaming and put a bag over her head and took her away. Monsters!

If you can’t watch the video please go read the whole story at Sky News.

UPDATE: Another video of the confrontation. I really don’t think this was faked:

Sound ok. It’s a Muslim country, people are foolish for going there and expecting reasonable treatment – especially women.

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ therightscoop

I think she lives there from what I can tell.

      • Carkrueger

No one could have acted in courage to wrestle the gunman? Reporters could not have thrown their bodies over this women? It seems cowardice to film this women being taken away and have done nothing at all. If foreigners can’t help one helpless women in a seemly upscale hotel, then what the hell are they doing there.

      Guy, she is Libyan.

And that sir, is the comment of the day!

  • Carkrueger

Why did SKY News not intervene and take the woman into their safety? How could they just watch this happen after she just told them she was raped and tortured? She was not taken by gun point and it seemed like an awful lot of reports just stood by and watched this happen!

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ therightscoop

She was taken by gun point. They said it in the article.

      • Elmerfud71

I don’t know what the truth is, but if she was just raped and tortured, and was willing to go into public to expose it, why wasn’t she fighting tooth and nail when they supposedly dragged her away? If her emotional state was one of reckless abandon and she was willing to risk going back, why would she go so easily? If it was staged, they wouldn’t want her hanging around, and wouldn’t be too forceful. Either way, they may or may not use a gun. Which didn’t seem to be on the camera. It would be easier to “say” there was a gun, than actually have one that would create more panic in a public setting.

        Who knows?

    • KeninMontana

It may have had something to do with the fact that defying government officials in third world dictatorships is how reporters end up in dark, dank third world prisons and are lucky to ever be heard from again.

  • debby

    Yep, no sound.

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ therightscoop

      Sound is fixed.

  • debby

This poor woman, it’s so heartbreaking to watch. But honestly, I only watched because there was no sound. Otherwise I would have only read the comments to get the gist of it.

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ therightscoop

What do you mean you only watched to get the gist? It’s just a report from skynews. No graphic content included.

debby, this is very sad. It’s one more example of Shari’a.

the media is absolutely useless. totaly garbage being part of the media industry.

    Oh, come on.
Let’s put the emotions to one side and put on our thinking caps, people.

And we know this is not simply anti-Gaddafi, anti-government propaganda, because … ?

Yes, Mommar is a bad guy and we all know that.
But if it’s civil war in Libya we really have no dog in this fight (Constitutionally) and we should leave this NWO/UN/Neo-con/Samantha Power-inspired coalition immediately.

    • Elmerfud71

Sadly, there is a media propaganda campaign going on about Libya. Nothing makes any sense as to why we are taking orders from the UN “now” to take out a dictator. They need excuses to continue, and possibly stay in Libya. This is just the kind of tactic they would use.

Who knows if this is real or not, but it almost looked like the woman could have walked away at any time. There were no guns, and no real force being used. She just wasn’t that convincing.

      • Pauline

        I agree with you, Elmerfun71.

    • Pauline

      You are 100% right, SmileyDays.

Many of the Middle Eastern countries said they objected to the torture and cruelty of Gaddafi so let them take care of the problem. This is NOT our fight.

Why should our troops be put in severe danger to defend people that hate us?

  • BigM

I can only be thankful that we in America are blessed with freedom. But….for how long. Sharia Law is slowly being accepted by the ignoramus LEFT in this country all in the name of diversity! I feel like I’m gonna puke!

    • Elmerfud71

Try going out in public and decrying that we should get rid of our current government and start over. You would be quoting the constitution, but may end up in prison without trial for a long, long time. It wasn’t the left that signed that into law.

Not much difference between the two.

    • Pauline

      BigM.

Rep. Steve King gets it and tried to demonstrate the danger we are in due to this faction so now the leftists political elites have started something like a “fairness” to Muslims committee.

  • Anonymous

Every journalist should leave Libya immediately. They were complicit in government murder.

  • Rich

More of that “democracy movement” in action.

  • Persephone

If her story is true…then this poor woman may never be seen or heard from again.

But was it staged?…How do we know?
There is definately a PR war going on.
But even if this was a staged, we can be sure such things have been going on under Qadaffi, for a long time.

  • Anonymous

But..but..I thought Fox news lied about reporters being duped into being used as shields and manipulated into doing what Gaddafi wants them to. They can’t roam around ? They can’t be left without their handlers? But it was a big lie when Fox said it..I see..uh huh..yeah.

    • Elmerfud71

Fox news was caught editing the CPAC poll winner announcement to make it look like Ron Paul was booed. The announcer was wearing two different color shirts in the same announcement, and other video shows that he got a standing ovation and cheering.

Fox is as corrupt and biased as the rest, just a slightly different spin.

“I really don’t think this was faked”

I guess I am much more suspicious about this than you. To me it screamed fake from the start. She was way too calm leaving with them. She was not dragged away, she walked away willingly.

  • Constance

There wouldn’t be any reason for someone to run in and scream this. The woman can’t leave her country, and she would know that her life will be in danger once she opens her mouth. What would be gained by faking such a thing? I think putting a bag over someone’s head is not a good sign. Remember, it is a very male-dominated society over there. Women are second-class citizens, subject to the whims of the men.

  • Pauline

The US is involved in the UN scam called “Responsibility to Protect” so the UN can gather the US with all the countries of the world and go after Israel and install the country of Palestine.

We are not in Libya to help the people create a Republic Democracy. Libya and all the Middle Eastern countries will have Shari’a law no matter what dictator is in place. The brotherhood is salivating over their planned takeover of much of the middle east.

Beware America, we are being duped.

  • sadpanda

Americans live so freely that they see this and say stuff like why doesn’t she just leave, or why doesn’t someone step in. You have taken your freedoms for granted because you cannot realize that leaving and stepping in without fatal results is freedom, and there is no freedom in Libya.
