Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) believes that a plausible solution to the United States Post Office’s financial woes is for the federal government to install wind farms up and down the offshore East Coast to generate power for a new fleet of electric postal vehicles. Unfortunately, he doesn’t mention how much taxpayers would have to sink into this unproven, utopian scheme. But he doesn’t sound too worried about a minor detail like that.
This isn’t quite Hank Johnson-level naivete but it’s in the ballpark.
