Senate passes debt limit deal 74-26

We knew the Senate would pass it before we knew the House would pass it, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise:

With just hours to spare, the Senate votes, 74-26, to approve the deficit reduction bill that raises the nation’s debt ceiling in order to avoid the country’s first-ever default. The bill now goes to President Obama to sign.

Now we get to watch this super duper supercommittee threaten us with raising taxes or debilitating defense cuts.
