UPDATE: No deal! – Uh oh: A compromise debt limit deal in the works?

***UPDATE: Boehner says “No deal!”***

Rush just reported that his Congressional sources are telling him now that Boehner has called a full Republican Conference meeting in the morning which means there is probably a deal in the works that he needs to run by the entire conference for their support. This just after the NY Times reported that Obama and Boehner are close to a major budget deal (now backed up by Politico and the National Journal according to Rush) which prompted both the White House and Boehner to refute it as false. But now it seems that it might be true. Rush believes that it is likely that a compromise has been reached and he’s not that happy about it. If so, it sounds like we are being sold out again. What the heck happened to Cut, Cap, and Balance?

I was just telling a friend over lunch that when the Democrats had full control over every branch of the Federal government there were never any cries for compromise with Republicans who were in the minority. When the nearly one trillion dollar stimulus was proposed, the MSM and Democrats all agreed that Obama had won the election and thus he gets his way. On ObamaCare there were never any cries to compromise with Republicans. Nor with the financial regulatory bill that passed. The only time we ever heard the word compromise was when the GOP won the elections in Nov. 2010 and they needed Republican support to keep the Obama/Democrat agenda going. And it’s the Republicans who must compromise, not the Democrats. NEVER the Democrats. The Democrat agenda is ALWAYS the agenda of the MSM and talking heads among them and thus the Republicans should compromise their agenda. The Republicans won big 8 months ago and yet they are the ones under the gun to compromise. No one ever says that Obama has had his way for over two years and his agenda isn’t working, and thus he and the Democrats should compromise with the Republican agenda. No, it’s ALWAYS the Republicans must compromise and I’ll be damned if they don’t fall for it every stinking time!

And here we are again it seems. Let’s just hope that this nonsense isn’t true and Boehner just wants to tell the entire conference he is standing strong. Yeah, I know it’s likely a pipe dream. But that’s what we do when we keep getting sold out over and over and we have no hope that the leadership will stand strong. We invent things to hope in. Also, we elect people to replace them.
