I was thinking today about whether these kids will one day put their participation in this nonsense on their resume. Imagine one of them, a few years from now, entering your office for a job interview. It would be epic karma if I could tell one of them to not let the door hit them in the behind on the way out the door.
I've been waiting for the right time to use this. I think it's now. Too bad "Smitty" won't see the humor in it.

To all of you OWS sympathizers.... this is the preferred method to deal with a crowd. they were clearly warned... they clearly wanted the confrontation to include the spraying... these campus policemen did what we pay them for...and until you have tried to arrest or detain someone who is resisting (they were breaking the law) then do not speak about how those poor dears were treated...and oh yeah... this is what a society gets by giving everyone a trophy and making everyone a winner.....

I have to compliment these officers for handling themselves with great restraint. You had people running at them, grabbing them, screaming in their faces, interfering with their arrests and they just pushed people out of the way. They had every right to arrest any of those other perpetrators.
It made me sick to hear the woman screaming in the background that "These are children." Really? Children? The same age as the young adults fighting overseas who are really preserving our rights and freedoms? The young soldiers who are dying so these spoiled, over entitled, brats can pretend they are of the same moral equivalency as oppressed Chinese citizens of an oppressive communist regime?
These occupiers thoroughly disgust me.
Seems to me that children shouldn't be controlling the politics of an international superpower.
A mistake that they're probably going to render moot once they ruin us enough to lose it- assuming we haven't already lost it.

However, that being said, the cops should have tried to arrest them one by one

The cops looked silly and brutal and could have really hurt somebody
If I were a parent - I would beat the crap out my kid first - then file a law suit
Both sides acted stupidly

They were actively resisting by linking arms tightly, which would've made trying to arrest them one at a time VERY difficult... It also would've increased chances of injury to both sides -- dislocated fingers, wrists, arms, etc. on the protestors, injured backs and arms from lifting 'em on the part of the cops... They were given fair warning and chose to be sprayed.
This was a great lesson for the Occutards: Actions have consequences.

I think if they were sprayed them one a time - arrest each one that was sprayed - the chain would have broken
But I'm no expert - I would have brought in a few dogs and then command them to "LIFT THIER LEG" - might be worse than pepper
